I'll be in Melbourne from 16th - 18th April. I have three full days to fill.
Any recommendations of things to do? And any deals/discounts around at the moment?
I have flights/accommodation sorted.
Thanks.

Are you doing the tour, or are you the ghostly figure in the tour?
Whenever I’m in town I always make it a point to go look at the clock at central, then either kfc or maccas downstairs
Three days of activity right there
Public transport is free, take a ride on a Comeng train before they disappear.

Went to Tom Ballard last night with Promotix. Absolutely loved it.
Melbourne Promotix is chockas ATM. Awesome.
Yup, take the opportunity to go to a bunch of shows.
Hire a bike and explore Melbourne's amazing bike paths.
From the city ride east along the river as far as you like
Or follow the path down to Port Melbourne and then along the beach
Or if you are more adventurous do the capital trail, which is a lap of the whole city

To Do
Buy a machete.
Drop machete to the provided bin.
Feels good.
Shouldn't he hack up some people and then claim he had a hard childhood, and get off on bail only to do the same thing 15 more times? This is an essential part of the process.
Shouldn't he…
Feels great…
If you like movies, Melbourne IMAX has the second biggest screen in the world (biggest 1.43 ratio screen in the world).
Sports Museum at MCG
Upon arriving in Melbourne, you should fly to Sydney and have a better time!
Sydney is your pick over Melbourne?
Neither are in my top 100 places in Australia to visit.
What are your top 100 places in Australia to visit?
If Byron Bay gets mentioned, immediate account banning
Perfect, OP can be in Sydney on 17 April for Sydney Swans vs Greater Western Sydney Giants..
With a crowd of almost 20,000?
@jv: GWS get 2k free members and 18k away fans from Melbourne.
Swans get 40k most games , but half the crowd take a photo with their plastic sparkling white flute for instagram and leave after the first quarter
Desalination plant

Walk the promenade at South Bank at night.
Head out to Lygon St and get a meal.

Check out the light towers at the MCG. A classic 1980s engineering marvel.
Do what the locals do: Visit Crown Casino and blow all your money.
Actually go to crown Casino and have the Tuesday $25 Coq Au Vin at Guillaume‘s. I never go to the gaming tables.
F1 exhibit
Poker at the Crown is open just about 24/7 isn't it? Go grind some cash or play a tournament.
What brains trust closed The Lume down? Anything interesting happening there?
St Kilda Beach
Crown precinct
Frankston
Melbourne/Victoria is very much a 'depends on the weather' also on what you're into
Nice warm day St Kilda/Williamstown/Altona/Port Melb beach, grab a great feed near there and chill
Not hot or Cold weather its things like Melbourne Museum (Imax), live sport, fed Square, if you are happy to spend money an expensive dinner in a good restaurant etc
However ill note you dont have to spend a shit load to get a good meal like some other states we have a lot of strong cultures and honestly you can get cheap-ish Asian, Eastern European, African, Middle eastern and Latin food that is of very high quality for a reasonable price. I actually think our fine dinning/upper class dinning is very over rated but out affordable and mid tier restaurants are incredibly under-rated.
Also our coffee is 'good' but too many people are charging on Melbourne's reputation opposed to the quality of their brew. The city is full of >$6 coffee shops but half of them shouldn't be charging more to $3
The biggest 'issue' Melbourne has is nothing is close you can navigation around with public transport but trams are slow, parking in the city isnt viable due to the cost, e bikes/Scooters are not bad if you dont mind that.
This is a really hard question to answer without any information about who on earth you are, who you are travelling with, what you like… one person might want to go up on the skydeck, one person might want to walk through the graffiti alleys, one person might want to see the penguins, one person might want to visit the artists' market, one person might want to go see Ballarat, one person might want to hit up the brothels.
Melbourne's a pretty big place. There's a lot to do.
The beer is twice as good as it costs twice as much as Sydney … always my highlight
As a Melbourne-ian, I will suggest you to go to TULLAMARINE then take the next flight to DENPASAR. You have more fun there
I’m sure someone who appreciates Melbourne wants your house. Go take your own advice.
