  • I came to post but you got in before me. I got it on all 3 cards. I don't have a business account :(

    • Yes so if you get the subscription for $79 you get it back.

      • Looks like you need an ABN to create an account

        • Is there any downside/issue to creating a sole trader ABN just for this purpose?

          • @UWK: Your personal prime membership can be shared with business account (called 'duo' with some limitations) not the other way around IIRC.
Tho having said that, I think there's a chance AMEX can't distinguish personal/business prime sub expense.

  • +3

Seems like, this is only for subscription payments. One need to take the prime subscription.

  • +1

Offer only valid on Amazon Business Prime subscription

But I already have this free with whatever they do when you already have regular prime. :(

    • +1

Exactly, and I don't think you can pay the prime subscription through the business account so this deal is useless unless you use a business essentials account or higher

  • Got it, good deal!!

  • Can American express tell whether a charge on your card is for a prime subscription or for purchasing items?

    • +1

Most likely, I had a similar offer few yrs back for Amazon prime on AMEX

    • Anyone daring enough to find out?

      • +2

It's tried multiple times in the past - statement line item shows up as "AMZNPRIMEAU MEMBERSHIP"

        • So only valid with prime subscription, not any other purchase, since it has to be this description on stmt?

  • Can we use Amazon Business jointly like how people share their Netflix accounts?

    • yes, you add users.

      • just a note, if you add additional users, it will charge you an additional 79$ for upto 5 users.

  • Can you do regular shopping using business account as well? never used it. What's the difference?

    • Some items are not available & Some items are cheaper and/or offer bulk buy discount.

It's a bit of hit and miss but worth check both if you have access.

  • So I just need an official email and that’s it? no ABN?

    • you need an abn - which you can apply easy

    • ABN required

  • Right now my business account is sharing the Prime sub from my personal account. Anyone know if the reverse is able to be done?

    • +1

I just asked the answer is no.

      • Thanks but thats a bit sad.

Edit: It dont seem to include Prime Video either!

    • Or can we just run without a personal account? I hardly log into mine anymore since business is cheaper - only that it's missing the odd product here & there

      • No Prime Video

  • I don't get it - Amazon Prime Business is free if you have an ABN and a Prime subscription.
Maybe it's for Subscribe and Save purchases made via Amazon Prime Business?

    • i think this is for people without a prime sub. You'd be amazed how many people i know at work who has never used amazon let alone having a prime membership.

GOOD NEWS EVERYONE: This offer works for your personal prime subscription as well.

Just got "you've used amex offer" email.

    • +2

      Not all heroes wear capes.

Thanks mate - seems like it appears on the Amex statement the same as the personal Prime charge

      • +8

        Received the statement credit today.

        • thanks for feedback

        • Love your work

    • My personal prime renews in July :')

      • Mines in August, sadge!

      • +2

Cancel it by end of June and signup

      • +1

You can ask nicely for pro-rated refund to the chat support.

    • Please let everyone know when it gets paid. I'll be cancelling then re-subscribing pronto.

    • Duo
      For sole proprietors
      Free
with your personal Amazon Prime membership

A business plan is dependent on a Prime membership

Does that mean you linked an ABN then made the Personal Prime Payment

or no Business setup it just mis recognised the normal personal prime spend?

    • @Yrgnuh you are a legend for trying out and sharing us this news. Let us know when offer is paid out (statement).

    • I cancelled Prime & I saved hips of $$s. Now I switch to CNY & much cheaper petrol (with BYD Atto 1;) 🪃💥

    • please let us know how it goes and if you have any Business account opened with it. Thanks : )

    • My personal prime renews in December, sad

    • Now you gotta let us know if you get paid out.

    • Still waiting on email. It does happen where it takes a couple of hours to come through (had this before).

    • Can you elaborate?

No need to register for business? Simply sign up for personal prime subscription?

    • Wow thanks for this! Mine is expiring mid May so will come in handy!

      • +2

Confirmed. Personal prime purchase tracked on Amex.

        • +1

          Has the cashback landed thooo

          • @Fasian: It’s still pending though. Will confirm in a day or two

        • No Business Prime involved at all?

          • +1

@Freeskater: No. But I’d wait until the credit actually gets into the account and report back.
I had prime and cancelled it, so even if I don’t get worst case scenariowon’t sweat it.

    • I hope you are not saying this because it was April fool 😄

    • +2

I didn't get confirmation email, but cashback did arrive.

    • didnt receive any email.. got my credit back today. signed up on the 3rd of May.

      thank you all.

  • my current prime due October the only way to take advantage of this deal is open a new account. then I need a new business account as well due to the better price.

  • Is it any purchase or subscription only? I've got the Duo account so I think I'm good?

  • Looks like it has just been pulled from Amex offers? It was showing on my app and then POOF.

    • +2

It was only available for the first 5000 people to save the offer; that's probably why

  • Ironically didn't get the offer on my Business Explorer

  • Nice offer!

  • Does this first needs to be saved in AMEX App or just use the card details in the amazon prime membership purchase (will have to use a friends AMEX card for prime membership purchase therefore I have no idea what the process would look like)?

    • +2

Saved first in the AMEX app.

    • Asked my friend to check in AMEX app and I was informed there are no prime offers (probably 5000 limits completed?).

  • Can I buy anything? Does Amazon business offer prime trial?

  • So you need an ABN to create a business account, not sure why this offer was given to conusmer accounts. What is the benefit?

  • +3

My personal prime subscription expired later this year so I contacted support and asked them to cancel from now and pro-rata refund me the amount remaining. They did that with no friction at all. I've immediately re-subscribed using my Amex. Will confirm if i get the Amex statement credit.

    • same cancelled my personal, bezos pretty good tbh I thought they were not gonna refund my personal because i already used free shipping for like 20+ orders

    • +3

      Received my $79 statement credit.

  • +1

Still have "partner billed" from my time on the origin internet deal a few months ago even though I cancelled that in Jan :)

  • great. got it

  • Will the charge take place after the first free 30 days?

  • +2

i asked for pro rata refund (started jan 2026), they gave me full refund lol.

    thank you amazon!

    • Do we still have the offer shown in AMEX App (today)?

    • Same for me, full refund. I'll re-subscribe when the refund clears in my credit card account

    • Same here. Is why I won’t sweat it if Amex does not give the credit. Got 4 months of free prime lol! It was worth a shot

    • Not much luck for me, they went through my details and saw me used plenty of benefits, best they could they give me 1 month refund, but understandable only less than 4 months to go, so I'd just wait and sit out for now.

      • try a different Amazon customer service person. I got mine refunded on pro rata basis

        • Too late, I took the offer. All good. At least I can resubscribed with 100% credit.

  • -1

Wonder if you can subscribe and and ask for a refund to be applied as a gift card balance

Rinse and repeat until you exhaust all saved offers

    • Amazon do provide a full refund for unused Prime subscription. You can certainly use it to your advantage if you know how.

  • Can confirm still working for personal prime
Credit applied as soon as transaction was processed after 1 day

  • I got this offer on both of my cards. How can I maximise the benefits?
