Have been looking at something to replace my terrible ecovacs, saw this deal. Maybe not ATL but lowest atm.

Want to get from Amazon for their returns. So many of these 'tangle free' vacuums cannot handle daily cleaning of my 2 samoyeds. Hoping this can survive the gambit,

    Good Deal OP

    My Review on ownership

This is my second Roborock, I have an older S7 doing upstairs and this one was purchased for down stairs.

We have large matt tiles downstairs and this leaves very very visible swirl marks which is very annoying as I got this model at the time due to the reviews of its mop quality

Just be careful if you have large tiled areas, it might show marks

Ive tried Roborocks floor wash, no improvement, just wasted money as it did nothing

Vacuum and avoidance are excellent, it also charges stupidly quick

It takes 132mins to clean my ground floor which is 103m2 in size

    • Thanks for the review!

    • Do you have hard water? Could be the reason

      • -5

Isn’t that ice? Usually, water is in liquid form and is not hard ;)

    • Do you have a pic of the swirl marks? Just curious.

I dont at the moment sorry, I have mopped them the old fashioned way

    • My robot vacuum’s suction power has declined on hardwood floors after a few months. I’ve cleaned the filter and checked app settings but still weak.

Roborock products are good until something goes wrong. I currently have a tribunal case with them.

    • +4

What went wrong? Say what you will about Amazon, but that's why I prefer to buy these sorts of products through them.

      • +2

Same can be send for literally any products these days

I have an S7 Max Ultra; the purchasing price was just over $2,000. The dust transfer mechanism of the dock stopped working, with the app saying “voltage error,” just over 2 years later (past their warranty period). Roborock stated that I have to pay an assessment fee with no guarantee that the issue is repairable, but the assessment fee will come off the repair cost should it be repairable. I deemed that to be unacceptable under ACL, so I went to the Office of Fair Trading. They wouldn’t budge, so I ended up making a QCAT case. I won’t share details publicly until the case is finalised, but I will make sure I create a post.

Looking forward to the post and the outcome.

It seems that we are always buying things that need maintenance, software updates and upgrades and basically unfinished or undone things that would die as soon as they are not profitable and supports, spare parts and software, firmware are sunsetted.

        • +1

Please make a post about your outcome and experience. Really interested to see how the ACL works end to end

@CommanderCrumbcake: @CommanderCrumbcake @StiffHindQuarters I will surely do and ping you here once I do. I am actually interested to see the outcome too.

    Having 2 samoyeds is ruff.

Love mine, floors/carpets are pristine and maintenance is easy.

I won't mini-review as the commenter above did a decent job, one piece of advice I'll give:

Use the option vac then mop. Vac will run around with the mops auto-detaching back at the dock and means it'll usually vac up dirt/etc. first before it then goes around and does a mop. I haven't tried with this model, but with another brand I found it vacuumed up wet dirt which wasn't good long term.

  • loved mine, work great! paid more than this but still think it's worth it

      Na - Roborock > Dreame > Eufy > Mova > Ecovacs.

Stay away unless it's price is too good to refuse, but given the sale prices for a lot of Dreame and Eufy models, no reason to go for Ecovacs.

Edit: Just checked the link, $1300 - definitely stay away. Better to go for Dreame L50 Ultra which can be found for a similar price or a Roborock Qrevo mid-tier option around $1100.

      • Where does Lubluelu rate in your list? It's budget, but I've been happy with my SL60

        • Probably in-line with Ecovacs, but to be honest I have 0 experience with it - I also haven't really looked at product pages/etc. either, so I know nothing about the company and models they have.

      • Where would you put the new DJI Romo in the list?

        • Without any experience on the DJI, I did read there was a security issue with it - they could be good because the drones are fantastic, but then again one flies in the air and the other goes around the ground/sucks up dirt.

I'd probably consider it last, Ecovacs has more experience in this field.

  • Damn, these are getting close to $2k.

    • +1

2K? They're getting close to 3K (and some are over) for new release models.

      Robot vacs at JB's

      • WTH $3k?! O_O that's insane!!!

  • How is 10r vs 10?

  • Was $1649 at Costco till last week. Costco has a better returns policy than Amazon where I can use it for a period of time and return if it doesnt perform as expected

  • advantage of this over the <$1k QRevos?

    • It depends on the Qrevo model, but some don't have hot wash/heat drying mop pads.

Automatic removal of the mop pads I think is another feature.

Other than that, the suction power is less generally.

    • Obstacle avoidance is supposed to be top-notch on this one

    • There's only something like 3 total robovacs in the world that mop, auto empty, etc etc and still fit inside 8cm baseboards. If you have cabinetry to auto dock inside of, this is the one!

I’m running a Roborock Curv upstairs and a Saros 10R downstairs. Here is how they compare from my experience:

Clearance: The Curv is taller, so it struggles with low-clearance furniture.

Maintenance: The Saros 10R has a surprisingly small water tank. I did not check before purchasing. You’ll need to refill and empty it often—especially the dirty water tank, which smells if left too long.

Performance: Despite having identical battery sizes, the Saros 10R has a shorter runtime. To manage my large floor plan, I schedule individual rooms on different days to avoid running out of charge or hitting the 20% mark."

    • I currently have the Curv Flow 2 and looking for a second one, either the Saros 10R or the CurvX. Would you recommend the Curv over the Saros10R?

      • I don't see CurvX being available in Aus. I have to check US site for spec and CurvX seem to be very similarly to the first Curv with obvious difference been CurvX have lower height.

I am just going to compare my Saros 10R to my Curv. Unless I state CurvX.

CurvX have better dock even without detergent dispenser because the dock can hold more water so less maintenance. Regardless, you should empty the dirty water every day.

Curv have poorer navigation. I have to restore the map a few time already. Both CurvX and Curv navigation spec sheet is the same, so Iam not sure will CurvX suffer the same problem.

Curv have longer runtime than Saros 10R. I expect CurvX battery to be the same as Curv.

To me the navigation is the annoying factor and I am leaning towards Saros 10R. But since you have the Curv Flow 2 which have the same navigation spec as CurvX, you should test the navigation in your house. Maybe it does not have problem in your house. In that case I would choose CurvX.

    • You just missed it even cheaper

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/952630

    • If you can get it for $1399 like suggested, Qrevo Curv 2 Flow.

$1599? No - better to get the Saros 10R.

      • Better obstacle avoidance
      • Lower height
      • Bigger battery.
