Found these yesterday, no tricks or codes just direct . Special though TechRadar but the direct link seems to work

Switch took about 20 mins, no down time

SpinTel Home Turbo | NBN 500/50 (500/42Mbps TES) | $53/m Expired (first 6 months, then $86.95/m)
SpinTel Home Ultrafast | NBN 1000/100 (850/82Mbps TES) | $86/m (first 6 months, then $99.95/m)

CG-NAT is enabled by default and CG-NAT is suitable for most users.

When you opt out of CGNAT on your NBN service, you have two options:

Dynamic Public IP Address: You can request a dynamic public IP address, which allows you to configure port forwarding. This option comes with an additional monthly charge of $2 on top of your current plan.

Static IP Address: If you prefer a Static IP address, which remains constant and is ideal for reliable remote access to your network, you can request one for an additional $5 per month on a residential plan.

    no tricks or codes

    It's not a trick, it's an illusion! 👡 👡

    • +12

      thanks Gob haha

      • +7

Ignore him, he's trying to cirsumvent the rules. Ha imagine telling the guy in the 4000 dollar suit that its not a trick. Come on.

    • +5

6 months and cgnat is the trick here

    • +4

Tricks are what a wh*re does for money.

  • +2

    Cgnat?

Do we need to provide notice before switching to another RSP?

    • +1

Yes to cgnat by default. I think static is $5 p/m

      • +1

Can you disable cgnat without buying static?

        • +2

          Yep $2/m.

Dynamic Public IP Address: You can request a dynamic public IP address, which allows you to configure port forwarding. This option comes with an additional monthly charge of $2 on top of your current plan.

          • +2

            @Twix: Mad solid tyvm

          • +1

@Twix: At that point just get tailscale or set up wireguard.

            • @FujinShu: tailscale or zerotier yes

wireguard won't work if you try to vpn back home.

              • @ShadowSaver: You mean wireguard service won't work over cgnat? Anyone wanting VPN will just pay the $2, I hope.

FYI, Tailscale is built on WireGuard.

                • @bargaino: Yeah, Tailscale works behind CGNAT, but standard WireGuard doesn’t.

The $2 VPN you’re referring to is a privacy VPN ie NordVPN, and it’ll work regardless of CGNAT or whether you have a public IP.

                  • +2

@ShadowSaver: The $2 referred to what you pay per month for a public IP address with Spintel.

      • If they have ipv6, no cgnat.

  • Anyone knows where to enter referral code?

    • +2

It in the Order Review step after payment :)

  • +2

Cgnat, i don't know. Call me rookie, happy to learn.

Most you do not, Superloop/TPG/iiNet were doing silly things like a notice period, but most just charge pro rata for the month

    • +15

Means you share an IP address with other subscribers. Just like your home router shares one IP address with multiple devices. Traffic is sent to the right place be means of information in the packet headers. When such "network address translation" (NAT) is done at the router, it's just NAT. When it's done by your ISP, it's Carrier Grade NAT (CGNAT).

It's effects can be hard to predict and depend on many factors. Usually you wouldn't notice.

      • +8

Cgnat is mostly a problem if you have a home server you need to access. I run a plex server that is accessed outside the home, if I have cgnat it is unusable.

        • There are ways around it but i prefer to have dynamic ip so i have multiple options to vpn back home

        • +1

Can't you access it through IPv6? CGNAT should only be an issue for IPV4, right?

          • @Make it so: If they have IPv6 then yeah

            • +1

@ShadowSaver: They do. IPV6 is working fine. I didn't have to change any settings after moving from Leaptel.

              • @Make it so: I can see on my UniFi console that I have a IPv6 address on the WAN connection.
But when I run the IPv6 tests online, it shows that my RSP hasn't enabled it correctly.

                • +1

@DoctorCalculon: Maybe not the right IPV6 settings? The one I carried across from Leaptel work fine with Spintel, but I remember at the time it took me a while to get the them right. These are the setting I use (which may differ on other routers):

                  Internet Connection Type: Dynamic IP
                  Get IPv6 Address: Stateful
                  Prefix Delegation: On
                  DNS Address: Auto
                  Assigned Type: SLAAC+Stateless DHCP

I remember that a sticking point before was that I had to use "stateful" for "Get IPv6 Address" instead of "auto".

                  • @Make it so:

                    Get IPv6 Address: Stateful

I don't see this option at all on UniFi OS Network 10.2.105.
I have enabled SLAAC after reading your comment.
The "Stateless DHCP" option is also nowhere to be seen.

Anyway, thank you so much for sharing these details. It might help someone else.

                    • @DoctorCalculon: Did this fix your IPv6 problem?

                      • @Twix: I have given up as I cannot see some of the extra parameters that @Make it so has mentioned on the UniFi Network console.
Enabling SLAAC hasn't made any difference.

        • +3

I use Tailscale to get around that

          • @milliondollarbike: I had it with Leaptel, was great no issues and they allow you to switch it off for free if you don't want it. This deal appears to be the best deal at the mo. Thanks Techradar

      • +1

I just had target.com.au and Selby accoustics' websites blocked for me because of Superloop's CGNat.

  • +6

Someone put NBN in the deal title so I can find it later lol

    • +17

Done. All nbn deals on OzBargain.

      • +1

        Yesss thank you!

  • +5

Origin energy also offering same deal for 500mbps and cheaper at $70/m for 1000mbps on the superloop service

    • +5

Big difference after 6 months though:

      • 500/50 - $53.50/month for first 6 months, then $107/month
      • 1000/100 - $69.50/month for first 6 months, then $139/month
      • +20

Yes but most people here are switchijg ISP every 6 months

    • I posted the deal as I noticed it hadn't been posted yet
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/954438

    • Yes good deal but Origin doesn't allow to switch off CGNAT.

      • +3

Origin nbn: Static IP $5/m to turn off CG-NAT.

        • +1

Yes sorry forgot to mention turn off CGNAT while staying on dynamic IPV4

      • Not true. I am on the latest origin deal with a dynamic IP. You need to call and be insistent. They refused multiple times offering a static IP for 5 bucks but eventually "escalated to a manager". Good luck

        • +6

That level of hassle is just not worth it for me.

      • With ipv6 you dobt need to.

  • Static IP options?

    • +1

      Static IP $5/month.

  • Damn thats cheap. These guys any good? im with leaptel atm

    • +2

thats who i switched from. They were good, but 12 months @ $89 for 1000/100 was about to go up to $114 so made the jump. 500 fine for us.

      • +1

Any reviews on ping to gaming servers or speed during peak hours?

      • +2

Leaptel must have a bunch of us switching away at the moment lol. I switched away too

      • Hi
I’m also thinking of changing over from leaptel. However I’m a bit nervous about losing my internet completely as I’m unsure what settings I would need to attempt to change in my Router . Does the change from leaptel to spintel require any setting changes. I’m on FTTP. Using a netgear WNDR4000 and as quite a senior person I don’t want to stuff it up

        • +2

There are no settings to change from Leaptel to Spintel and most other providers. Some exceptions to this are Dodo, TPG and iiNet that require settings to be changed.

          • @Twix: Thanks. So I just do nothing? It will just change over and use the same UNI D-2 port that I’m now on with leaptel? No need to go into config via my laptop to the router that I had to do once before and nearly lost the internet…spintel will just activate the same D2 port. Sorry for the questions.

            • @ern123: Yeah that's right.

              • @Twix: Thanks, last time it was a disaster. Don’t know how I managed to get it back.will give it a shot.

    • +1

Also with leaptel and thinking about it. Still haven’t solved my dropout issues.

    • +2

It's been a while since I left them but they were awful to deal with. Frequent downtimes (for me alone in our building), then customer service was hard to reach at the best of times and email responses were always a copy-paste of irrelevant information. In the rare case I could get through to a rep, the language barrier was too high and they couldn't understand what I was telling them. I would never go back to Spintel.

      • fwiw - they rolled out a completely new network nationwide. There's POPs in each state now (unsure about NT though) - with local peering.

It's not the same Spintel that used to route everything back to Sydney first…

    • I was with Leaptel for ages, they were great, I recently switched back to Superloop under their amazing black friday sale for 1000mb plan so on that for now but thinking of moving over to the 500mb Spintel deal to save $ :)

  • Anybody know if they have IPV6?

    • +1

      Yep native IPv6.

      • Any ideas, why the tests on the following site keep failing?

        https://test-ipv6.com

Yes, IPv6 is enabled on my router, and I can see a IPv6 address on the WAN port.

        • Not sure. What IPv6 settings do you have enabled?

          • @Twix: The check box setting on the WAN profile which states IPv6 was always switched on.
This worked fine with both ASUS RT-AX86U and UniFi OS when I was with Exetel which operated a dual-stack network.

            Other settings:
            • Using DHCPv6 (no client options set)
            • Cloudflare as the DNS server rather than auto DNS server.

Is there any other settings that I may have missed when it comes to Spintel NBN?

  • I got tired of churning and staying with Carbon Comms. 500/50 Aussie broadband network for $80 and static IP

I'll churn if there a really good 12 month deal but they are rare.

    • I churned to them from Leaptel after the rates went up. Service is fine.

But - it is probably in the fine print - I got charged a $5 NBN fee to switch and they do add a fee if you want to pay by credit card (Leaptel did not do that). I know that fee should disappear in October, but in the meantime I'll use direct debit, which I don't like.

I rarely needed to use Leaptel support when I was with them, but they are very good in that area. With better pricing I'd go back in a heartbeat.

      • So carbon chrages 5$ for switching over to them?

        • +2

This was on my first bill under Other Charges:

          Charge Details Cost
          NBN Service Transfer Fee $5.45

    • Only Sydney POP which is what puts me off joining them myself currently.

      • I was going to post this as well. As a Queenslander, the increased latency is noticeable.

        • +1

I'm in SE Queensland, haven't noticed any latency.

They're getting pops in every city soon

          • @jaimex2: They were saying July-September so we shall see. (6-9 months)

          • @jaimex2: The state based POPs have been out for a while now. Including local state based peering…

            • @CRCinAU: Your comment is about Spintel PoPs in various states.

They are talking about Carbon Comms only having a Sydney PoP.

              • +1

@Twix: Ah - my bad. Brain-parsing of the thread depth was off! :)

      • I'm in 4000 and it's fine for me. No noticeable change from ABB. Was initially having routing issues but I think that was on my end

  • +6

Just moved to Origin. Will wait for next 5 months before churning.

    • Do they provide CGNAT or dynamic IP? Is dynamic IP free? Also, do they require one month notice before cancellation? I'm planning to switch to them.

      • +1

Spoke to a couple of consultants when I switched over - they didn't know what CGNAT was. Gave up on trying to explain about dynamic public IP and just paid the $5/month to get a fixed IP address.

        • Support can do dyndamic for free. no cancellation period they just prorate. have churned in and out from them multiple times

      • They have ipv6.. no need

  • Referral code doesn't appear to work? I am trying to enter in promo code box

    • +3

It in the Order Review step after payment

      • +1

Ah, thanks you are a star. Thank you. Just choosing between this and the origin offer now - which popped up just as I was waiting on a reply! That might be better with the 25$ rewards points + $50 referer credit

        • I think the $50 bill credit is only for new Origin Home Energy (electricity or gas) customers. Are you sure we can get a $50 bill credit for NBN signup as well?

          • @tianyujojo: Unsure. Good point. I'm waiting to see if it's possible for me to churn it today given it's a public holiday from More telecom

  • +2

    CGNAT though :( vomit.

    • +3

      Turn off CG-NAT for $2/m.

  • +3

Seems origin deal is better with extra rewards points

    • Oh wow, was gonna say iiNet has a better deal but Origin is even better. Might sign up with them instead.

    • Can you elaborate on the extra reward points? How do I get it? I'm contemplating getting an origin connection.

  • +2

I'm with dodo atm, do I need to provide 30 days notice to cancel before jumping on this deal?

    • +1

I'm in the same dilemma. Apparently according to ACL, they can't charge you for a service they cannot provide?

My Dodo ends tomorrow… I'm thinking of churning right now, then tell them, hey you cant charge me for the next month because I don't have a service with you. Not sure if that will work though….

    • So, I just signed up to Spintel.

I first logged into my Dodo NBN and changed my credit card to a mastercard debit card with no money in it. I then signed up to Spintel and am waiting for the churn now. Once it goes through I'll contact Dodo NBN and say to close my account. I hope that works.

This document from the TIO seems to suggest I'll be ok? But I'm not too sure. https://www.tio.com.au/sites/default/files/2026-01/TIO_Cance…

      • +1

In the case you overdrawn the bank charges you. be careful.
