Yea, I rarely used mine (gen 1) due to the heavy weight and also poor seal for people with larger head size
Trying these on at the Apple Store I noticed the transparency mode a lot less tinny
The AirPods Max 2 (2026) still do not support true wireless lossless or high-fidelity audio, as they rely on the AAC Bluetooth codec and lack support for high-resolution standards like LDAC or aptX. Although they have the H2 chip, 24-bit/48kHz lossless audio is limited to a wired USB-C connection, not over Bluetooth.
So users still need to connect via USB-C for 24-bit/48kHz audio, but this still is not truly "bit-perfect" audio in the audiophile sense.
I mean they obviously aren't targetting audiophiles..

I bought my HD800 (admittedly 10 years ago) for just under 1k brand new, this seems insane.
