The Silence of The Lambs: Free with Ads @ YouTube Movies & TV Channel

533

For whatever reason, I never got around to watch The Silence of the Lambs (1991) after all these years. I found it free on Youtube Movies today, so I finally watched it tonight.

What an amazing film. Both Anthony Hopkins and Jodie Foster were amazing. Scary and mesmerising all at the same time.

No wonder it won the "Big 5" Academy Awards (Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Adapted Screenplay) in 1991.

Absolutely worth watching if you have never seen this movie.

If streaming a 35 year old movie with ads is a deal, is free to air TV a good deal too?

      Hello Clarice..

        Hello Clarice..

Lecter said that in Hannibal. In Silence of the Lambs he only said, "Good morning".

She’s the only thing not convincing in the movie. For an FBI agent she was totally out of her depth

        • +1

Officer Starling is a student trainee at the FBI academy, she's not an agent yet.

I'm having an old friend for dinner.

    • Who's asking? Jame Gumb?

      Have the lambs stopped screaming?

No chance of making this movie today.

    • -4

      Why?

      Woke society says no..

      • +2

Woke society down voted you. Woke society are a bunch of snowflakes 😅

You could make this today, but likely only as an independent film (or a straight to streaming film). You would probably also struggle to get any A-list stars to appear in it.

Too much money to be made from cartoonish buffoonery.

Both Anthony Hopkins and Jodie Foster were amazing.

Jodie Foster was acting. Anthony Hopkins was Hannibal Lecter.

Everyone always overlooks Ted Levine's performance.

      • +4

Also overlooked is the actor for the guy that had the cell next to Hannibal's at the start. I mean, he really pulled it off…

I watched this version and it's bad. It's the TV edit which is censored and cuts scenes compared to the theatrical release. Please watch the proper version of this masterpiece if you can.

      • More like sleep version amiright

        • Having an old friend for dinner version.

and this is posted as a "deal" and with Ads, seriously why? Pfft.

    • -4

How about you post a deal before having a sook

Lambs are already pretty quiet. Not sure why the movie made a big deal about it

    • +3

Not sure if serious, but throughout history lambs represent innocence, vulnerability and sacrifice.

Furthermore, when lambs are slaughtered it is said their screaming is similar to that of human's screaming.

This comes full circle to the sounds of the lambs going to slaughter being the root of the trauma that influenced Clarice's need to save people - join FBI, hunt serial killers.

First the horse Hannah, then the night watchman father whom she couldn't save and thus the drive to save Catherine Martin to achieve the temporary relief from the sounds of that child hood trauma.

It's actually a focus example for cPTSD.

And get this, they didn't even put a lamb on the movie poster.

      They put a moth.

      • Something about transformation.

Did you watch it with a nice meal of fava beans and a nice chianti?

  • It’s on Prime Video atm too.

  • +1

It's available on prime, binge, and stan

According to YT comments, some important scenes are cut? If thats the case, I'd rather just stream the full movie for free.

  • Clarice I smell your ****
