Spotted this through the Costco website. Still a newbie posting deals, please be gentle.
NOTE: Possibly ATL, 2% annual reward with an Costco Executive Membership on top of it

😢
Ozb will ravage your nether regions when posting your first deal!
Hahahaha
Apparently more adds than an add…
?
TV has built in adds these days apparently… Hisense has heaps.. again, allegedly..
Ads? As in advertisements?
The ads within the menu screen or how they display?
They over wifi
@Bimbobob: No idea, I bought an older used OLED to avoid this crap….
I assume some adds are in the firmware during startup, others repeat on wifi…
Something along the lines of "we can sell the TV cheaper if we put adds on it you have to watch".
Get stuffed….
This is why you dont connect your tv to the net. Buy a shield or another media box. Run everything through that instead. There is no need to update a TV. If it has any problems then you should return it anyway, not have to update it to fix it. Companies like Samsung have been fined for messing with the software and making the TV capabilities worse after updates.
How does this compare the the TCL C7K
Pretty much worse in every way, I think AVForums did a review on both. TCL was slightly better in almost every way.
Agree, Hisense are pretty much irrelevant now that TCL have dominated the Mini LED space.
Couple years back I got a Hisense mini led and returned it the same day and swapped out for the C835 at the time. Hisense mini LED in the same price range/class had massive blooming around texts and white on black scenes whereas the TCL did not.
I personally will not buy non android TV because android TV makes it much more smarter, as you can then easily sideload apks and enjoy own jellyfin/nas/plex/ SmartTube (adfree Youtube) etc like smart apps on TV directly.
I would honestly genuinely have had considered Hisense Tv if they shipped android TV instead of this crap locked down crap Vidaa OS.
These are not android TVs are they?
Correct, they run their Vidaa OS on them.
Not sure why we don't get the Google TVs here seeing as they do them in other countries.
Avoid avoid! Ads on-top of ads, even in the home screen, even when you simply switch to watching free to air. Even when you don't watch free to air and you think you can live off HDMI, ads are still prominent. Switch off the internet and pihole it and you lose 1/4 of the homescreen. fml it was a poor decision from me to buy hisense. Make sure you keep the box when you get it from Costco so you can return it a week later.
Can one not edit the tv network connection and chance DNS to adguard dns?
Apparently you can email Hisense with your TVs unique id in the settings and request that they remove ads. Email is service.tv.au@hisense.com according to google.
Where are they made?
Strait of Hormuz.
No gentleness in ozb
