Only the older Redmi Pad SE (not very good) and Xiaomi Pad 7.

When you click buy only the 6gb Pad 2 Pro and 4gb Pad 2 options are available, 8gb on each is out.

On Springvale Rd (opposite the Monash Aquatic), a couple of years ago, there was a sign saying “Future site of Xiaomi Experience Centre”.. anyone know what happened with that??

It was basically a huge casualty of the pandemic. Back around 2019 and 2020, Xiaomi's local distributor here (Panmi) had massive plans to open physical flagship stores all over the place. But then COVID hit, and dumping a ton of cash into a giant, hands-on retail space during lockdowns was obviously a terrible idea. So they quietly pulled the pin on the Springvale site before it even got off the ground. They decided it was way safer to just sell online and push their gear through local retailers instead, leaving the sign sitting there as a bit of a relic.

Interesting. The ones I’ve been to in Asia have always been packed out and it was actually cool to see all the different products Xiaomi sold

There used to be a Xiaomi store in Auckland. Pretty much dead for traffic when I had been there, plus they mostly had everything online in regards to purchase products.
It was nice to be able to play with the products I wanted, but again I still had to order everything minus backpacks and chargers.

I was looking at Mi tablets a while ago. Ended up spending more on a OnePlus Pad 3. Really enjoy it.

How do these compare to Xiaoxin 2025 and 2026?

Global versions of both exist. The latest hasn't been released just yet but already on Lenovo AU.

@Clear: Bro, is this the only android tablet close to iPad's aspect ratio? I prefer ipad for reading and this is almost the price of an entry level ipad and is tempting honestly.

@Clear: do they still sell the 11 models? the prices are still crazy good even more so being 13inch
i would assume 11 are even cheaper if they exist?

What??? Xiaoxin Pad Pro GT is not $1400, I paid $350 for it a few months ago

Xiaoxin are huge almost 14". Having one myself, would trade for 11"

Here's a comparison of the Pad 8 with the popular 2025 and new 2026 models. It should be correct.

Too bad they dont release Xiaomi Pad Mini, looking for a decent mini tablet

Look at the Lenovo Legion Y700 8 inch tablet. I have the original model 2021, but they have just released a new model late March. Great for gamiing. Best to buy through Ali express and wait for coupon deals and/or Shopback bonus. Only problem with mine is a highly reflective screen. Not many people discuss this, so maybe the newer models are better in this regard. Just do a little research first. Whirpool is your friend. Look under Android Tablets.

Rough price…?

500

Is the Legion Y700 the same as the Legion Tab?
If it is, why is the Legion Tab so much more expensive?
there are many generatrions.
The latest is Gen 5 which has Snapdragon 8 Gen 5

Yea, I would like one for couch time. The large ones need two hands and I want a free hand.

I’m sure you do ✊💦💦

You mean ✌️💦💦

I just want an OLED one man

samsung

Check out Lenovo/Xiaoxin.

Pad 7 with 30% off looks good to me if there's still stock.

Managed to snag a Pad 7 this morning before they went out of stock for $380, seems like a solid tablet.

Dang I was also looking at the pad 7. Seem like a better deal. Cheaper and not that mch difference with the newer pad 8

I've bought the pad 7 pro and pad 8 pro, would highly recommend. Just as good as Samsung tablets at less than half the price.

Only 128GB storage with no expansion? Oh come on.. you can't store anything on that. Or has the 256GB or higher sold out?

Not sure why the neg because this is a totally valid point. Here’s an upvote.

Thanks..

I'm rocking an old iPad with only 32gb storage lol. Hoping to get this as an upgrade

Seems like xiaomi has 2 versions of the display, one with nano texture with anti-reflective coating and this one seems like its the plain version?

Can anyone recommend a tablet for reading predominantly comics and magazines? Ideally 11-inch or similar size.

I have the Xiaomi pad 7 and read magazines and books from the local library using Libby works well.
Also bought the pad 8 today to do the same thing.
Take eink for reading.
E.g. Boox Note Air 4C.
It is expensive though
Prefer lcd/oled for colour

How many years of updates does this tablet support?

4

The Xiaomi Pad 8 supports
4 years of major Android/HyperOS updates and 6 years of security patches. This ensures the tablet stays updated with new features and security improvements until around 2031–2032.
Is it normal for their processing to be so slow? I placed the order two days ago and it hasn't even been posted yet.

Got emails that my orders of the xiaomi 10 band being processed for delivery yesterday. And just got delivered today.
Think it varies for other people though

Many of the other options they have showed no stock before the sale, and still no stock now it's started.
