  • Ive got two of these at home. Great product 👍

I believe the Robot doesn't carry a water tank, it needs to return to the base station to re wet the mops, meaning it may take longer when cleaning, owners can confirm.
Downvoted for trying to inform others, what a Twat,
Why not correct me if I'm wrong instead.

Looks like it has a 310ml water tank in the actual cleaner

If it runs via the Xiaomi Home app then the only options for refill duration should be 5, 10, and 15 minutes.

Annoyingly spinning robomops usually dry out at around the 7 minute mark, making every 5 minutes somewhat too often, but every 10 minutes insufficient.

Unless you're very time sensitive, I wouldn't be too bothered about the lack of an onboard water tank. The mops get gross really quickly, so you really should be washing them every 10 minutes at least.

    • I have one that has no on-board tank, because after researching I decided it's actually better. It gets to return to the base and have the dirt on the mop pads washed off before heading back out which makes for a cleaner floor. With an on-board tank all you're doing is wetting an already dirty mop pad, so it's not cleaning as much dirt off the floor in the long run.

  • Was thinking of getting but the suction power seems low (only 6,000) also no extendable arms like the s40 pro, is there any alternatives?

    • +1

6k suction is the average for now I think. Before were 3k and under. Depending on the carpet, I don't recommend this for the thick carpet because the mop pad can't lift high enough to avoid dragging along while dirty. It's different from home to home. Other than this, the vaccum bot does the jobs well. People paid at least 2-3 times years ago.

    • There was a deal on the Dreame L10s ultra gen 2 on Amazon, $600 last week. It's my first robo vac and my expectations have been exceeded.

  • Probably better off with the Jonr P20 Pro over this, can be had for $335 often and has similar (slightly better) specs while using the same app.

    • I think Lefant M3 is an upgrade range with better specs for the same price. It was even cheaper during last BF flash sale. Not sure of the feedback.

While this xiaomi is a promised model being on the xiaomi front page.

      • Oh please no, I had the Lefant M3L before the Jonr and did not like it at all.
I have a long list that I wrote but accidentally hit the back button on my phone and lost it, I can expand again if needed to convince someone to make that same mistake.
To summarise, that thing is extremely poorly optimised with a terribly buggy app. Much worse than the Lubluelu SL60D I had before it, somehow even in vacuuming performance.

        • I see no wonder they can do it for dirt cheap. Somehow Lefant brand looks like a start up on Google review seems okay.

    • Hi @samthe2can

      Thank you for your feedback.

I was curious if you could provide a recommendation between jonr p20 pro and xiaomi s40 pro?

Both are at around same price, but i like the self cleaning station on p20 pro. Xiaomi seems to be more powerful, but probably requires cleaning every other day.

  • $100 cheaper than the xiaomi au website opening deals. Price protection?

How is this compared to roborock
S50 2nd generation. I bought it perhaps 9 years ago. it is working fine. Just want to know if it is worth the upgrade

  • +1

Great little machine, works far better than my Gen 1 Mi Robot and can clean carpet, rugs easily and rarely gets stuck. After a lot of head bashing got it working with HA with action buttons around the house.

    • +1

      HA?

        Home assistant.

Lot of extra features and more suction, if you don't mind spending extra $120

Im so confused with all these models. Ive got the old xi robot. But wanting to upgrade, we have a small groodle dog, baby on the way and mix between hard floors and a few rugs and carpet in bedrooms.

The current xi robot keeps getting stuck and is about to die.

L10s gen 2, l40 ultra ce vs this?!

What advantages does this robot vacuum cleaner have over say, a wife, which I could also afford?

  • Was given a $350 Coles Group & Myer Gift Card from my boss for Xmas - wish I could use it for something actually useful like this!

    • Sell in classifieds and take a small hit then purchase this?

    • +1

Buying groceries from Coles isn't useful?

      • Yeah but it's not as fun as a robotic vacuum cleaner.

        • +3

next time u go coles and buy your weekly groceries, pay with gift card and put the same amount of $$ paid for groceries, into savings to use for this.

Voila, your boss just bought you a xiaomi robot cleaner

So many different vacuum robot models Im overwhelmed. Anyone mind sharing if this is any good compared to roborock and other popular brands?

    • Wondering the same, was looking at the $199 roborock deal from a few days ago but don’t know which to get!!

  • Is no water tank on unit really a big issue? Getting it for Building size: 191m²

    • Also hows warranty support for mi.com? trustworthy or just go with amazon

I bought this 4 weeks ago for $599 from Amazo, it worked really well. It doesnt have a water reservoir in the actual machine but if you run it in the evening while everyone is sleeping, it should be fine running extra longer just to go back to the base to wet the mop. I had to return it though because i needed something that automatically detects rugs or carpet and has a hot/warm air to dry the mop plus a dedicated detergent reservoir thus the upgrade to Dreame’s L40 ce for $620.

    • Could you please share the link for the L40?

      I found it, but the L40 now it’s $649

    • Does this one not auto detect rugs and carpet?

    • run it in the evening while everyone is sleeping

It's noisy enough to wake people who sleep in the evening up

  • I have this and think it's great.

Only floorboards so can't comment on carpet performance.

  • I returned mine after about 2 months. It kept forgetting its location and the entire map all together. I'd have to take it back to base, reset it and try again. Some days I just gave up. When it worked it was great though. The same thing happened to the robot the x20 replaced but it took 2 years before getting to that point. Also a Xiaomi (mijia 3c).

I've now got a kogan one and for the price its fantastic. Uses Tuya back end so you can avoid the kogan app and add it to smarthome or tuya apps instead. It's as good as the Xiaomi we had.

    • I have the same problem with my roborock s5 max. The maps slowly get corrupted and eventually have to restore from a backup or worst case scenario remap whole house. I bought this as its getting bit old so fingers crossed dont have same issues as you

      • I found all my robot vacs also spend an awful long time "locating" at the start of each clean. I don't understand. If the house hasn't moved and the base hasn't moved just start and assume everything is the same! 10% of the battery is gone by the time they even start to clean.

        • Yeah I have same problem. Can do "positioning" for ages if you pause it in middle of a run or wheels get lifted

  • Only one front/side brush on a $1000+ RRP vac? Would annoy me seeing it flick stuff across the floor and not pick it up.
