  • Hi op this post says offer starts tomorrow but I believe it starts on the 8th when new catalogue starts

    • As your profile is set to Perth it's correcting from 00:00 GMT+10 to GMT+8 for you.

      • +1

Wow no way! Thats so interesting. I didn’t know OzB was such a smart website. Thanks for explaining :)

        • +1

Not really that smart if it's displaying tomorrow when it's actually the 8th though..

          • @Bytelover: To be fair, that feature makes sense for most deals, because most deals posted here finish at a specific time (e.g. this BIG W coupon deal finishes at 11:59pm AEST today). It is unusual for deals here to have an end date/time based on the local time zone, although a lot of (but not all) Everyday Rewards bonus points offers are based on the local time zone.

Moderators can change the deal in the back-end to reflect the end date in the local time zone (instead of Sydney/Melbourne), and they have reportedly already done that for this deal.

  • If I bought 5x $100 gift cards at my local woolies, and then another 5x $100 gift cards at different woolies would I get the bonus points/offer for the second batch?

    • +6

No. The purchase limits are tied to your Everyday Rewards account so visiting another store won't make any difference.1

However, it's long been the case at Woolworths that the system actually applies the limit to each individual card type rather than as an overall limit so if that hasn't changed you should actually be able to buy five Everyone, five Home, five Him etc gift cards all in one day with the one account and still earn 20x points on all of them.

If you're going to try this, I'd recommend only proceeding with the additional transactions if the checkout screen says you've earned the right amount of points because if they don't automatically credit you may have a hard time convincing Everyday Rewards to hand them over.

      1. It's been a long time since I tested it but the exception to this used to be that you could double your purchase limit by buying half the gift cards at a regular Woolworths and the other half at a Woolworths Metro.

      • This is really good to know, thank you <3

  • Do i need you be careful about tempered gift card here similar to apple gift card? Or these are safe?

    • All gift cards need to be activated after successful payment. So, it should be safe. Just keep your receipt for proof of payment if anything goes wrong.

  • Anyone knows how many gift cards we can use with OfficeWorks? Like if I want to buy an new iPhone?

  • Do these stack with Everyday Extra 2x EDR points (total 40x)?

    • +5

      No.

The Everyday Extra webpage has the following FAQ:

What purchases will I collect 2x points on?

You’ll collect Extra Points of 1 bonus point for every dollar spent at Woolworths and BIG W, in-store and online. There are a small number of products which you won’t collect Extra Points on, such as smoking products, gift cards, mobile recharge, travel cards and delivery charges. For further details, see this FAQ and the Everyday Rewards program terms and conditions at everydayrewards.com.au/terms.

You can easily track your Extra Points in your Everyday Rewards app and online account.

In my experience with purchasing gift cards at Woolworths, you will not earn any bonus points from the Everyday Extra perk.

As an aside, the Everyday Extra perk does not multiply the total number of standard & bonus points you will earn in a transaction. The Everyday Extra perk only awards 1 bonus point per $1 spent on eligible items (i.e. it only multiplies the number of standard points you will earn in a transaction).

For example, if you had a earn 10x points on every Woolworths shop booster on your Everyday Rewards account (with Everyday Extra) and you spent $112 on groceries, you would earn a total of 1,232 points, which consists of:

      • 112 standard points
      • 112 bonus points from the Everyday Extra perk
      • 1,008 bonus points from the 10x points booster (because this booster awards 9x bonus points per $1 spent, and 9x112 = 1008).
      • +1

Trust you to come up with the goods, @WookieMonster. Thank you!

  • I purchased ultimate everyone $100*5 but points are yet to be tracked. Everyday app says 0 points for the purchase made. Does it take long time ?

Note ithe gift card was 50 - 500, i loaded 100 in it. Does it going to be a problem ?

    • +3

      That is a problem.

You bought the variable-load denomination, which is specifically excluded from this deal (and this is made clear in the deal title and the deal terms and conditions). In other words, the checkout was correct in awarding you zero points.

The only thing you can do is contact Everyday Rewards and see whether they will award you the points through a goodwill gesture, but they are not obliged to help you.

      • Thanks for clarifying. I gone throught the T&C.

        • +3

Just a update: customer support credited the points as goodwill this time. They also said I’ll have to wait 24 hours before buying the next $500 set. Thanks @WookieMonster

  • can you use these at jb hifi to get steam gift cards? I know that sometimes places won't let you buy gift cards with gift cards is all

    • Maybe.

      • It is against the JB Hi-Fi gift card policy (clause 14) and Ultimate gift card terms and conditions (clause 3) to use an Ultimate gift card to purchase any gift cards at JB Hi-Fi.

      • Steam gift cards cannot be purchased on the JB Hi-Fi website.

      • AFAIK, there is nothing in the JB Hi-Fi in-store checkout system to automatically block you from using Ultimate gift cards to purchase a gift card. However, it is up to staff to enforce this policy: some will, some will not. You only need to tell the staff member you want to use a card (or Visa card) as a payment method, but I once had a staff member stop the transaction after they demanded to see the payment method I was using on my iPhone and saw that I had an Ultimate gift card on the screen…

If you want to save yourself the headache, EB Games is probably a better option (assuming there are stores near you), as those also sell Steam gift cards, and I find staff there are usually much more relaxed about people using gift cards to purchase gift cards.

      • Does that mean you previously had success using an UGC at JB to buy a JB Gift Card?

        • I tried that once, but the order was automatically cancelled. Keep in mind this was through the JB Hi-Fi website and I was paying via Apple Pay, so I probably tripped up some anti-fraud measure on the website.

I have only purchased Apple gift cards in-store when using Ultimate gift cards to purchase gift cards at JB Hi-Fi stores.

    • better to do it at eb games. what i do is add it to google wallet and pay with my phone so they dont know im using a gift card

      • think eb games had no issue to use GC buy GC.
I did twice, the guy even let me use eb games GC buy steam GC

  • Do I need to activate the deal on everyday rewards?

    • +1

      No

      • +1

        thank you

      • Do you know if we can still buy 5x everyone and 5x Him on the same day?

  • Has anyone tested recently if we can still buy 5x of one type and 5x of another and still get all the points? E.g. 5x everyone and 5x him on the same day?

    • Could someone confirm this?

    • Is the promotion on? it didn't show for me

      • Dont know what you mean

    • Kinda, I bypassed the 5x daily limit today with 4 birthdays and 3 everyone and got 1000 pts each for all of them.

  • +1

For anyone interested, Champion started being offboarded from all Ultimate gift cards today, including the Birthday, Celebrate, Everyone, Her, Him and Thank You gift cards in this deal.

The Ultimate gift card website suggests these Ultimate gift cards can still be redeemed at Champion if the Champion logo is on the gift card packaging, but I have no idea how long this arrangement will last.

  • +2

Can confirm you can buy 2 lots of different 5x cards in the one day. I did buy them in 2 separate transactions though. So 5x $100 Ultimate in one transaction, and 5x $100 ThankYou cards in a separate transaction and got all 20k bonus rewards points.

  • Xbox Game Pass no longer appears as an exchange option for Ultimate Him gift cards, and possibly for other cards as well, even though the linked webpage still lists it. Something must have changed recently, because I definitely saw the option when trying to redeem an older card just a week or two ago.

  • Seriously why can’t I use it at Harvey Norman 🙄

  • Hi OP. New here in buying this gift card.

Can I use the same gift card in different platforms?

i.e. I bought a $100 card yesterday. Can I use $30 in Adidas, $30 in Nike, $40 in Uber, like this? Or I have to exchange the card/use it to a particular merchant only.

    • +2

You can use the same Ultimate gift card at different participating retailers.

Your example should work fine, but keep in mind the following:

      • Uber is an exchange-only partner, which means you need to go to the Ultimate gift card website and exchange your Ultimate gift card balance for an Uber gift card in a denomination of your choice. There should be a $40 option (or 2x $20 options), but you should double-check available denominations yourself, as available denominations may change without notice.

      • Nike and adidas are both in-store only partners, which means you cannot use them on the Nike or adidas websites (nor exchange them for Nike or adidas gift cards / vouchers on the Ultimate gift card website). You should be okay to do split payments when paying in-store (e.g. redeem $30 from your Ultimate gift card and then pay the remaining amount owed on another Ultimate gift card or a debit/credit card).

  • Can i stack the same ultimate giftcards for a Luxury Escapes booking? I'm looking at the max $1,500 in one transaction

    • I was wondering the same thing and decided to try it last night.

FYI the next time they are running the promotion, I was able to buy and get the bonus rewards points on 5x $100 Her, 5x $100 Him and 5x $100 Thank You gift cards in 3 separate transactions one after the other for use on Luxury Escapes.

I did separate transactions to make sure the 10,000 rewards points were coming up each time and they did so can confirm the 5x card limit applies only to the same type of card.

I just went through the process of changing them all to Luxury Escapes and then applying to my booking. That was painful and time consuming but it all worked out in the end. I convert to Qantas Points and they were in my account before I got back into the car to drive home.

      • Wow that’s great it worked for you. I only did it on one transaction as I only saw the deal on its last day . Wish I tried it with the other ultimate cards!

        • I only saw it last night too but thought I'll try the 5 of the same type in one transaction and then if the next 5 didn't have any bonus points just cancel the purchase.

At least we know for next time now that it works 👍

  • just saw this post: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/917827

any concerns with these ultimate gift cards being tampered with and funds drained?

I have bought a few and they seem to be okay but wondering if i should be concerned..

  • +1

Will we ever be able to Exchange for eGift with JB Hi Fi again? That was one of the best parts about these gift cards, saved the hassle of swiping multiple cards in store
