Was looking at this one recently and it was around $300, just noticed it at this price and thought it was OK. It's Homebase only without cameras or doorbells. Cheapest on 3 Camels is $186 from last month but I missed that one. It's the 240V version but might need a plug adapter for local sockets, I wont know for sure until it arrives.

Here's a blurb on the Homebase 3 V Homebase 2: https://bestondeal.com/eufy-homebase-2-vs-homebase-3/

Some things you should know: some eufy products are region-locked. So homebase from Germany may not work with some products here

Thanks, just asked gpt and the only issue it flagged was mixing U.S. cameras with a Homebase from E.U.

HomeBase 3 is just a hub (Ethernet + WiFi)
      No account region lock
Designed to support 60+ devices globally

πŸ‘‰ The only regional difference is low-level radio protocols for some devices

Different regions use different WiFi channels:

      πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ US: channels 1–11
      πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Ί Europe: channels 1–13

πŸ‘‰ This can cause pairing issues if regions are mixed.

    Why the negs?

    • being anti ai is the latest trend. πŸ˜…

It should be. Simply copy paste is not an answer

  • aren't europe's WiFi also limited in power?

I wonder if it's the same for Eufy? maybe wireless range of camera is a bit less than Australia model?

  • can you use the other brand camera with this Homebase? If so, would all smart feature work?

    edit: google says no.

  • Just an FYI to watch the range on these, the cameras need to talk directly to the HB3 (depending on the camera models) not via your access points so you need to have them near each other as the antenna in the HB3 isnt great, you can with some cameras enable wifi bridge that will allow it to connect via 3rd party APs but its a small number of cameras, my place is 530sqm and its on the edge of what works

I have 3 x pan and tilts, 1 x flood light cam and 2 by solocam s340s and they all have the option for wifi bridge

Also if like me you have Ubiquiti Dream machine and APs Eufy devices can be painful to get working, read Reddit and owner communities to make sure your gear will work and the range is going to work in your home

Refurb'd but use either 15% off code or 20% off code - NVM can only find a working 10% off :(

    • Doesn't come with a power cable.

    • Which 10% off code did you use? I tried WELCOMEGB but it says the product is not eligible for a discount

  • Does this have OpenWRT capability?

  • Does Homebase3 actually make it faster to access Eufy Solocams?

    • Home base allows you to have extra storage for longer archive period.

    • Yes.
I found a Homebase made it way faster to access recordings.
