JB HiFi Currently have both 256gb & 512gb of S26 Ultra at the same price point $2,199

  • +2

The Commbank card usage requirement can be bypassed. Search for the post if needed.

    • +25

on checkout page, turn internet off, enter card details, let the page authenticate the card. Turn internet back on and pay

      • thats too funny that this works

        • +2

They must have a script that needs I ternet but a regular car check must be offline built into the page lol

Oh well let's keep using this until it does

waiting for Samsung to dump S25 below 850 for atl.

    • +1

might take a few additional years, I'm just swapping up from S21 Ultra

    • +7

Probably won't anymore, the lowest is usually the prelaunch when you see the lowest.

      • +1

this was true for the s24 and s23, iirc. i was waiting for the price to fall but samsung looks like they target the early adopters for the biggest discounts

      • Correct. I got the 25u at launch coming from 21u

  • -4

For its upgraded features (lack of) this is what the price should have been at release.

    • +1

      Is this a joke?

    • +1

First phone in a long time to actually introduce new hardware tech

    • +1

With local warranty? Is it possible to buy from Temu.

      Learned something new

      • +16

        Likely the sarmsung model

    • Do you have a link?

  • -7

Their S26 series seems like a flop.

    • +12

Highest preorder numbers in Galaxy history

    • -2

Couldn't agree more. Exynos sucks. Since Galaxy S4, every year I've been reading that Exynos has now caught up with Qualcomm. And guess what, it never did. Overheating, worse battery life, worse reception, lost frames during video recording. After years of struggles with Exynos across multiple Samsung models, I'm very happy with a Qualcomm-based S25.

In Oz, S26 has Exynos which has worse CPU performance than Qualcomm-based S25.

      • +7

        Ultra has Snapdragon

        • Correct

      • So you buy non-Ultra phones expecting the best chips on them?

        • +1

My S25 has the same chip as the S25 Ultra, the current S26 in other regions has the same chip as the S26 Ultra but they dump their Exynos chip in S26 for Australia.

        • even S22 got Snapdragon

  • +4

Pretty piss poor that only the 1TB storage option gets you 16GB RAM.

    • +2

Very few will notice the difference though unless you're running dex and heavily multitasking

    • What do you do that requires 16GM RAM but not 1TB storage?

      • run local llm? like a clawbot setup?

  • +1

What why arent is people buying during preorder much cheaper.

    • +7

you need to jump hoops like a circus clown

      • I mean, it's like a couple hours work, let's say a day of searching around and asking for codes etc
But you save hundreds of dollars. I got my s26u with an official case and buds 4 pro for like $1350 all together

      • +3

All you had to do was sign up for Samsung marketing emails before the announcement event, and they sent you an email with the 3 codes needed. Got my s26u for $1200 (including $200 of accessories).
Would hardly count that as jumping through hoops.

        It's always been that way.

The only hoop jumping was for people who didn't sign up before the event, then you had to message chat for one code and get one from the app etc.

        • what? you didn't go to jb store and speak to representatives from telstra, samsung??? stop lying

          • @LargestDeportation: LOL those are for people who wants the extra discounts codes… The 3 codes were indeed send by marketing emails.. And then use them on top of the generic code and then some people wants more discount codes.. because this is OZB after all. extra 50.00 is important to them.

Those who speak to JB store because they did not sign up to the marketing emails… And wanting JB to price match or whatever or the JB deals could be better for those who wants to go through the hoops of sign up for telstra plan and then cancelled.

            • @ttt888: show me the link? where is the $1,200 including s26 ultra and accessories?

              • @LargestDeportation: I actually got my for 1055 including accessories. Of course I was using Amex $100 cashback and an additional 50.00 voucher..

The link is on ozb pre-orders one is for EDU one is from commbank yellow.

For those who didn't want to look for additional vouchers etc. they could get theirs for around 1250 using the std marketing codes if you register and the default generic codes.

                • @ttt888: that's called jumping hoops, we don't have EDU, Amex, trade in. samsung code doesn't bring it down to $1,200. i checked history, the best is the jb deal that requires going to a jb store, talk to telstra rep for cancellation.

                  • @LargestDeportation: there were 3 options EDU, westpac ,and cba yello . All 3 had the additional discount generic code..

No its not jumping the hoops at least for these guys since these 3 allow quite a few people to buy cheap… It definitely not going on for hours begging for codes.
If you say this is jumping the hoops . Same thing with this current offer been posted right. You need to CBA or NAB customers. LOL

Anyway. just sharing my view for future samsung products purchases. Register for their pre-order…

        • Correct. Got the 512 for $1,450 with buds. Sold buds for $200 cash. Could have got 256 variant for $1,250. That too without Amex offer.

      • NO! when there is a new samsung product . They will have all this registering email for the promo… If you do. All the codes will be send to you.. and then you used these codes on top of whatever code generic published on the Samsung deal on ozb.

So lesson here is if new product release you just register for the release. Lesson for S27 in 2027 or S12 tab in end of 2026..

Literally 5 mins job.. Yes there are people who wants the extra 50.00 discount so they are chasing around like crazy….. But even without the addtional discount the price would be way cheaper than this price.

    • +1

Their flux capacitor is on the blink

    • Yeah can you what had

  • If you have access to unionshopper.com.au it's currently $1,462.33

  • Same price as Westpac Rewards

Also same price if I login through my company's reward shopping app so you can try there if have one of those giving access to the Samsung Employee Partnership Program. A bit hard to give specifics without giving away some personal detail. The phone app is called SmartSpending.

  • +1

With stacked discounts the S26U 512 plus buds pro and a silicon case was $1520 at pre-order using Westpac and Amex.

  • does this work with the CBA debit card? the offers says credit card , but my steppay only has 400 limit

    • Yes,Use an eligible CommBank credit or debit card at checkout to enjoy special everyday savings across Samsung products – thanks to CommBank Yello!

    • Yep, used mine and it worked.

  • +1

Tempted to switch from pixel but stuck cause of how intuitive pixel is and accessibility friendly.

    • I switched from Pixel, because I like the way some things work on Samsung. The "modes and routines" settings in Samsung are very helpful, and I like the gallery app a lot better. On Pixel I had to use "Photos" to quickly view my photos, but to view any other images I had to use the "Google Gallery", which required 10 seconds to update its inventory on every startup.

  • +1

Got it for $1,414.83 with first time 5% off and $50 off with the monthly Samsung Care thing ($13.99 for the first month & I'll be cancelling in a few weeks).

OK price but wishing I had bought in pre-order, those deals were insane.

  • +1

Good deal, thanks OP. Just had my S21U die on me yesterday so been a quick research day before this deal expired to lock in an upgrade. 26+ or Ultra. Decisions!

For anyone still thinking about it you get the first order 5% discount stacked on bringing the S26U 256gb version to ~$1468 I think it was. I also asked their chat support for any further discounts and they provided an additional 10% voucher. Ended up with the 256gb Ultra for $1390. Happy with that.

Didnt think to add the Samsung Care $50 off though! Could have been cheaper.

    • was $1414 for me did think of asking Support… :(

    • +1

      Awesome πŸ‘Œ
