Boost Mobile $300 Prepaid SIM 365 Days for $250 in-Store @ Woolworths

760

$7 more than Lucky mobile but should be able to pick up at your local store so no waiting for postage.

I used a 4% discount on Woolworths gift cards through my work’s program Perkbox, as well as 10% Everyday extra ($7 a month) so I was able to get it down to $223 (after taking into the account the cost of $7 for Everyday Extra). I don't have Costco membership (let it lapse), otherwise that would have been a better deal.

The SIM card I picked up expires 21st August 2027 so lots of time to activate if don't need the extra 60GB you get if activated by 4th May.

This item is not available online, please visit your local store.
Includes:
- 300GB on new activations by 4 May
- 240GB from next recharge
- Ongoing recharges $300
- Speed caps apply
- All for use in Australia
†Value SIM pack includes first recharge. All for use in Aus. Download speeds are capped at 150Mbps.
Typical speeds will be slower and will vary due to various factors. 5G: Telstra Pre-Paid Mobile Network 5G access available with a compatible device in most metro and many regional areas.
Check boost.com.au/coverage to see where coverage (including 5G) is predicted to be available in your area. Boost $300 Starter Pack price offer ends 21/4/26.

Yes ww gift cards should work. 10% discount should also work (costs $7 to subscribe for one month, so worth getting just for this SIM) though last time I used it was 6 months ago

    • +1

Yep agree. Worked for me about 4 months ago I think!

    • +1

Can confirm both have worked in the past for me on Voda, Optus and amaysim cards so don't think this would be any different

    • +1

Can confirm wws giftcard works on this sim card purchase along with that 10% monthly discount

    • +1

Thanks for that, that worked for me!

      • Thanks for letting us know, I'm glad I was wrong.

  • -5

    Gift card payment won't work

    • Why's that? One of the comments above said they'd done it about 4 months ago (they think). Did your experience differ?

      • +4

GCs don't work for Everyday Mobile and Belong but they should do for other SIMs

        • -4

Why should they work for other sims?

      • In the past it hasn't worked for Lebara either thus the whole SIM category is not eligible

        • I have bought lebara with a ww gc

    • I have paid by gifgcard few days ago.

  • +5

Wouldn't be better deal if you grab one from Costco? Assuming that you have existing Costco membership.

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/951815

    • I could not see the expiry of the SIM card in Costco when they had similar deal last year. I would expect in Woolworths at least we can access the card to check the expiry date?

      • +1

I bought mine over the weekend, it is Nov 2027 expiry.

      • +1

I got mine on the 26th in Melbourne - November 4th 2027 expiry

    • +1

If you stack gift card 4% and 10% monthly discount this is $5 cheaper

      • Costco is $220-$30 (gift card). This is $216

    • +1

From Costco its still showing $219.99 plus $30 costco gift card. Not a bad deal at all.

  • or this 380gb for $250 (no intl calls/texts inc) after cashback https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/953164

    • +5

Just have to wait 3+ months for cashback, and a small chance you'll have to pay full price if cashback doesn't track.

For most this is a better deal than the TCB one.

  • It says 240gb for next activation. If I'm being lazy and don't want to do the hop-to-another-carrier-dance to get the new activation will it work as a recharge? Do they have rollover? I still have quite a bit of data from my last year's plan

    • Boost do not sell recharge vouchers, these are for new activations only.

      • that was my understanding as well. But there are conflicting information. It does explicitly says "240GB from next recharge". I also found this on boost.com.au FAQ:

What’s changing for vouchers purchased online or in a supermarket?
From 5 May 2026, vouchers available for purchase will be changing to align with our new plan prices. If you've previously purchased a voucher at an old recharge value, you can still redeem it. This applies to vouchers purchased online and in-store.

        • +7

Yep! there's a new option in the app when you go through the process of recharging that allows you to enter a voucher. I'll try that and let you all know if it works.

          • +1

@Vitorll: Please let us know! Mine runs out in 3 weeks

          • +1

@Vitorll: Keen to know as well as my boost plan will expire in a few days. Thanks!

            • @Rode: Same here - any word on whether this works or do you have to do the whole port out and sign back up again..

              • @jason andrade: Bought the sim today and tried, but couldn't figure out where the 12 digit voucher pin was to recharge. Ended up calling Boost and they said I need to get a recharge voucher not this prepaid sim. The helped me rollover into the new sim as as gesture of good will anyway.

So for this product it'll have to be port out and in.

    • +1

I recharged via port in port out last month. I got a $2 Telstra SIM and it took less than 15 minutes. All done online.

      • +1

That's not a recharge, that's a port out and back in.

      • You mean you bought an esim online? Or you bought a physical one and ported online?

  • +10

Remembering the good old days that we could buy this sim for around $160 by stacking all the discounts and cashbacks.

  • Was $219 at Costco if you have a membership.

    • +4

And $30 gift card, make it to $189

      • -1

I think the 219$ is after the gift card

        • +4

No, it's $219 before the gift card. The normal price is $250 and its on sale for $30 off -> $219. Then theres additional $30 costco shop card that gets emailed to you about a week after purchase making total cost $189.

I was with Boost for a couple of years, great value.

However their wifi-calling no longer works overseas so just moved to Telstra Prepaid.

    • +2

When did they stop wifi calling from overseas? is that new?

    • It still worked when I was travelling in January

    • Yeah, curious about the stoppage of wifi calling. I did a few in February while I was on holiday. Checking if you were trying to make calls to Australian or international numbers; cz afaik, it would work only for Australian numbers.

    • +1

Incorrect, used it up until yesterday in Japan!

    • +1

I'm OS now and WiFi calling works the same as it always has.

  • Can you receive text messages when overseas on this?

    • +4

Yes you can. Can confirm as just got back from Japan yesterday and received SMS from friends and banks (OTP) without issues.

  • Never seen this one in stock at woolworths. The 2$ is on the shelves usually.

    • Was at Woolies this morning. Its on the wall at my local, lots of stock.

    • I couldn't find it on that small stand they have out the front of the store but there was heaps of stock on the wall with the other SIM cards and gift cards

  • Damn, already ordered with Lucky Mobile over the weekend for $243 delivered. Should I buy extra one from Woolworths. :)

  • +1

$250 at Costco with $30 Costco shop voucher emailed within 3 weeks. So technically $220. Just ordered one but don't think 300gb will last me one year lol

  • Do Boost sims work in a Telstra pre-paid locked phone?

    • +1
      • No. Apparently it doesn't work anymore. That thread is from 2020, and the latest comments from 2023 say Boost sims do not work in a Telstra pre-paid locked phone. Asks for an unlock code.

  • +2

Could stack with an Officeworks price beat and 20x EDR Points on Ultimate GCs if you're near one the few stores that still have it in stock.

  • My boost is expiring soon, do I have to port out and back in to avail this offer?

    • +2

      Yeah you do.

  • +6

Just to confirm, my monthly WW 10% off voucher worked on these this morning.

    • +1

Yes, worked for me as well!

      • Anything special you need to do? I tried both check out and self scan and could not get the 10% discount to show as an option to apply.

        • T&C say 10% cant be applied to Gift cards (including iTunes), mobile recharge, Everyday Mobile. Is this Boost starter pack not classed as a recharge?

        • +1

I'm attempting to use every day extra card via the free trial. I have the voucher code, but both at self check out and cashier, there did not appear to be any way to apply it. The checkout lady dismissed it as not being available for mobile purchase. Hoping there is another way to apply it, as others appear to have done!

          • @fridgejam: can confirm it came up as an option to apply the 10% everyday extra discount on self checkout on this (I have a 30 day trial same as the $7pm)

    • What 10% discount did you use insurance, phone, everyday extra? does it makes any difference?

    • Worked for me

    • Worked for me as well as WW voucher for payment.

      • regular checkout? how did you apply it was it just the 10% to your grocery shop & which 10% discount do you have via phone / insurance / everyday extra? cheers

    • Confirmed working 10% monthly discount and paid by GC

  • How long would I have to activate this? I don't really care about activating before 4 May for the extra data as I'm not a huge data user. My current Everyday Mobile is due to run out on 25th June.

    • I believe on each card it will have an expiry date

      • Thank you

        • The one I picked up from Woolworths today had until 21st August 2027 to activate.

  • +1

    Thanks O.P.

  • If you cant find the $300 version, go to the rack with all the gift cards.

Near checkout I saw racks of Telstra and Boost SIMs ranging from $2-$49, but $300 was only near the big giftcard wall.

  • Can someone do the math on how 4% WWS GC plus 10% discount work… Is it worth to subscribe 10% for a month just for this sim?

  • So this can ve applied to existing customers?

    • topherboi on 07/04/2026 - 09:34

Boost do not sell recharge vouchers, these are for new activations only.

  • just done the switch from Optus to Boost today… was up and running within the hour. Gone from paying $60 per month to $20 per month… let's hope the service is ok

  • +1

Bought one today at $250. It was advertised on the display at $300, but scanned at $250. Expiry date is Sept 2026, so will activate it then.

Made the mistake of grabbing the cheap Optus deal for 180 days through Finder, and can't wait to get back to Telstra again as have no service when I go up the valley for firewood

    • bought one today, expiry date Oct 2026. I did not check when I purchase, but I should check it. Also use the 10% discount.

  • Can anyone confirm if WWS GC can be used for payment?

    • Yes

  • Grab this few hours ago using 3% discounted WW GC in everyday rewards GC
Had free trial of everyday extra (10%) so just purchased a GC with value of 225
Total cost was 218.50 minus around 1500 of rewards points for both GC and sim purchases.

  • For those already with Boost, What are people using for the port out/in?

I'm looking at going through this $6 Lyca deal.
    https://www.lycamobile.com.au/en/bundle/unlimited-20/

    • $2 telstra sim, already mentioned in comments above

    • You can get a free eSIM, or use a $2 SIM card from Aldi Mobile. Select the option not to recharge, or choose the family plan user option when you reach the recharge stage of the activation process. Once ported to Aldi it took around 10 minutes to receive a Aldi eSIM. Once the SIM is activated, port back to Boost.

      • so can you signup with Aldi & get a free esim without adding any credit purely to do a port in & out?

        • +1

          Yes

          • @Cocochicken: interested if you did this how long it took to port back to boost, my biggest fear is being without my number as I use it for work & usually port boost-telstra-boost
