unless you planning on track or have some heavy sporting usage, these tyres won’t be of much value as the tread does not last very well. Although great grip.
This will last about 25% of a Turanza.

I did also hear that these don't last long, however I've had them on my car since 2019 and they still have plenty of tread on my rear wheel drive car, haven't had to replace of them yet!
My car also has about a -1 camber aswell from memory.

Years mean nothing when it comes to tyre wear. My car had Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres that lasted over 7 years. My wifes car had Bridgestone HP Dueler that lasted 4 years. The difference is my car did 40,000 km in 7 years, and my wife's car did 90,000 km0,000kms in 4 years.

          You are correct
I can only find evidence from a video i took in Jan 2021 that my car had 185k kms, it now has 240k kms.
Plus whatever i drove in 2019 and 2020 (though that was covid year).
So for 55k kms - and ALOT of tread to go - it seems pretty decent to me

Seems to be a polarising tyre. A real love/hate thing. I bloody love them. Once they get some heat into them the grip is phenomenal.

    • How do you know which tyre will last long and which won't? The specs on the tyre don't state estimated mileage. I got a st of Michelin Pilot Sport 4 and two years in they already close to needing to be replaced. Seems significantly less than my previous Continental ContiSport Contact which lasted 4+ years with similar mileage each year.

other countries have a thing called Tread Wear Ratings, higher the number the longer it lasts
you can get an idea if you look up overseas websites, but compounds do change per country, so it will only be a rough estimate at best.

Performance tyres not suppose to last, it is grip and the more the grip, the faster you will need to change. For people who drive like a grandpa won't need these tyres. These tyres are really meant for people who love and enjoy driving in sport or manual mode, not petrol saving mode.

    • that's very long in years but how much have you driven them (KM wise)? genuine question as looking to buy some bridgestones soon. Also what car do you have? My toyota is RWD and is 1600KG so prob won't last as long. Keeping eye out personally for the serendity plus

      • +1

I assume yours would probably be a Toyota Crown?

Mine is a Nissan V36 sedan, RWD and about the same weight.

        KM wise - see above

        • +1

wow very impressive indeed!! Maybe i'll consider this too. Ride wise do you find the tires comfy and not so noisy? although our cars are heavier and better insulated, the current set aren't the best so will upgrade to a set of bridgestones

          • +1

@FrozenFred: I would suggest a size that is as thick as possible to reduce road noise - i do wish my fronts were thicker.. i have 245/35/19
For the price of RE003 with the buy 3 get 1 free deals - you cant go wrong…just drive your car normally and itll last
Of course there are plenty of tyres that are better in dry/wet but they are also a lot more expensive (normally Michelin tyres only give you a rebate/discount of about 200$ so its alot less than 1 free tyre using the RE003 deal)

            • @ahxching: Good point bro! Let me check it out. Yeah you got 19s so don't got much room to play there haha

  • +21

This tyre is so old it gets a pension, the brand new RE005 are also on promo for less than $5 more per tyre if you go to JAX Tyres, Bob Jane is more expensive at $14 a tyre.

    • +2

Yup. Id definitely ask about the date stamp.
I believe 2015 was their first release. Just make sure they're not 5-6 years old

    • +2

Oh nice didnt know they have new RE005's now

  • +3

shouldnt the price be on the deal listing here?

$772 total for 4 tyres (paying for 3)

probs not worth the cost for the lads on this website

  • This tyre won't last long. just FYI.

    • +2

I got 45000 km out of my last set. And they weren't worn out, just took advantage of a special deal.
Pretty good for the performance you get.
      Car = Australian V6.

  • What to do with the 4th tyre?

    • +4

Can make it into a nice tyre swing, if you have the right tree

  • +1

    Get the RE005 instead.

    • Agreeded.
RE005 have 2 generations of technology improvements from the past 10 years and are worth the negligible price premium.

      • -1

Sometimes newer isn't better though. Just good for the pockets of the companies selling them (using cheaper yet more advanced technology). I know nothing about tyres though. Just generalisation of current world mass production Max profits

  • looking for 215/60/16 - 4 tyres, currently costco looks a better option

    • Yes Costco are selling some nice Michelin Primacy 4's for a similar price with fitting. Getting to them can be an issue for some - good spot

  • Found out today that my SUV tyres (Continentals) lasted 24 months (bought new).

So asked the bloke next to my place to chuck some 4 x 20 inch kumho's on there - $800 cash

    • +1

      4 x 20 inch kumho's

      That's some skinny tyres

  • +3

Fk BoB. Keeps tire prices high even though they have big buying power. Reminds me of that other aussie scum Hardly Normal.
My research from 1 month ago seems to suggest Costco is cheapest even with the membership.
    $220 each. $660 for 4 + membership.

    • 🥲

      • ? What does 🥲 square mean?

    • Yep f1 cars are running 25inch coz it makes them go fasterrr

  • any deals on 18" tyres for an suv?

    • +1

Mine last 2 year/20k + 1 track day, don't recommend if you're not planning on enthusiastic driving.
