I wish I could get this on Turkish Apple gift cards lol

    • +1

If you're already using your Apple passport in Turkey, 10% off AU GC's doesn't even come close to TR prices.

      • How? Isn't apple products more expensive in turkey due to higher tax?

        • @koplik88 will need to correct me if I'm mistaken, but I believe the Turkish GC comment was in relation to Apple subs via a Turkish Apple ID.

          • @KangaDrew: Oh yea. That makes sense. Services will be cheaper

            • +1

@DrScavenger: I usually buy them on G2A. You just have to double check the prices as sometimes the lower amounts of gift cards are cheaper with discounts than the higher ones.

              • @koplik88: How do you use it with an Australian Apple account? Your account has to be in aussie region if you want apple pay, right?

                • @DrScavenger: You don't use it with your AU Apple ID. You use it with your Turkish Apple ID. Run a search in the search box above - there are a bunch of threads on how to set it up.

              • @koplik88: Whenever I need to buy another 3000 worth of TRY GC's, I use a spreadsheet I created. I start by updating it with the current AUD pricing for everything from 50-2000 TRY. Then I dump it into AI to calculate the most cost effective combination of GC's. Saved quite a few bucks with minimal effort!

    Any risk of tampering nowadays?

    • +3

A good move is to add the credit to your account ASAP. Reduces the risk of any issues.

I'd imagine most Apple gift cards are version 2, so always good to make sure pull away sections is still in place before buying.

      • +4

always good to make sure pull away sections is still in place before buying

That’s not enough. You should completely open the gift card and reveal the redemption code before buying. The image linked in the deal description shows you what to check for.

        • +2

My point was this should be not split open before you choose it.

My first point still stands that you should credit it to you account ASAP as the people committing the fraud rely on periodically checking if a card is active.

        • +1

Theoretically, yes, but whether the stores lets you is another matter. I got into trouble for doing so by some supervisor near the front counter even though I had asked the store manager first if it was ok (who then walked off to do other stuff). I got a big lecture about how they couldn’t sell the cards anymore - even to me - cos I had now tampered with them instore. This was at Coles though. YMMV.

    • +3

Lots of risk. Woolworths are going to tell you to call Apple, and Apple are going to say to call Woolworths. Not worth the risk.

    • +2

I think the risk is fairly low with the new version. Would be obvious if it was opened as unsealing will sort of destroy the entire back piece of the packaging.
Also, staff will now have to tear up the entire outer packaging to actually activate the code.

Old packaging was easy to tamper because crooks could basically just get a sticker off aliexpress and reseal it.
Staff at my local woolies are great though, they insisted that I redeem it on the spot so they could refund immediately if code was invalid.

      • Not true. The new version cards are still being tampered with. I bought some of the new versions last year and 6 out of 14 had been tampered with.
Always open the card before you buy it. Not worth the risk otherwise.

        • I just bought one and they have now also updated the silver peel off bit over the redemption code. It comes off as a curled line now so not one rectangular piece. Hopefully more secure - otherwise it has to be an inside job.

  • Any idea how can make this gift card be used for Apple Care+? Tried to load to apple account however still charged from credit card…

    • +4

You cant use for reoccurring purchases, they claim it's illegal under the ACCC rules on insurance purchasing.

If you take a gift card to a physical Apple Store you can use it to pay for a upfront (2 year) AppleCare though

      • Any one have tips on getting an AOC or Education store discount on AppleCare when you buy in store without being officially eligible for AOC or Edu?

        • How do you buy it not in store? Some resellers will sell it to you if you bought the device from them (after the cooling off period) but I’ve never seen how to buy discounted AppleCare from Apple anymore

        • Best way to do it is to load gift cards into your account > order items for pick-up on the website. I am still in the process of graduating (so technically still have student status.) No issues picking my order up.

lol isn’t this just finished in coles 2 days ago? Or shall I say, what again?!

    • +1

Qantas recently had a 10x points deal recently for Apple gift cards as well. Apple has released a lot of new stuff recently and is reportedly going to release a lot more over the next month or so.

    • -1

"Say 'what' again. Say 'what' again, I dare you, I double dare you [censored], say 'what' one more Goddamn time!".

  • -7

Are you really winning though when you then must purchase items from Woolworths at inflated prices? Unless the item you want to buy is on a 'fake' sale which is essentially the normal price.

    • you then must purchase items from Woolworths at inflated prices

If someone is forcing you to purchase items at Woolworths, best to call the police, because it sounds like you need all the help you can get.

      • +1

I think he meant the discount from this deal is given in everyday reward points and the only place you can use them is woolies (or qantas)

        • It’s either Woolworths or Coles (or ampol as commenter said below). Not as good as raw discount like it used to be but if you need them anyway just take the W.

    • You can also use it EG Ampol. Almost everyone has to buy petrol.

  • Are items bought with these gift cards eligible for TRS?

  • +1

last time, it didn't track so no points :(

    • You just need to keep your receipt and call customer service if you have issues.

There’s nothing to track. Scan your rewards cards, buy the gift cards. End of story.

      • -2

I believe it doesn’t always work. However, the staff scanned my reward card.

    • Woolies will show you how many points you’re getting before you complete the sale. If you don’t see the points before you check out (either on self checkout or by asking the cashier), something’s wrong.

That’s why I strongly prefer getting these Apple gift cards deals from Woolies over Coles: you know if you’re getting the deal before you pay.

  • Can i use GC to pay icloud plus subscription?

    • +1

      anything

      • not the apple care

  • Can I use Apple gift cards to pay for a battery replacement at Apple?

    • no

      • +1

Lol, well you're wrong. You can, and I did on Friday

  • Can these be used in store or have they been blocked for home delivery only ?

    • Blocked for home delivery only for me. I cannot use it in store.

  • I'm thinking of buying from the Apple Education Store. Is the safest way to do so through buying the gift cards, and then loading it to my Apple account, then purchasing it online instead of going to the store physically? Would appreciate some confirmation/things to look out for.

    • +1

      Depends on spend.

Max $4,999 Apple Account balance, and you can use up to 8 gift cards in conjunction per online order.

Also check AOC pricing, can be cheaper than edu:
      https://www.apple.com/au_edu_5000447/store

      • Can you use Apple Giftcards for this also do you need an ID for pickup from Apple store?

        • For purchase on AOC? Yes you can use the gift card, in my experience they didn’t ask for student ID for store pickup. You could also get it home delivered if you’re concerned

      • I have to buy ipad air around $1400, I can load 10+ gift cards into Apple Id and make payment via apple id balance on checkout?

        • +1

Yep, should work for that amount

  • +1

Did this today - the attendant at woolies opened the cards for me to check the codes were ok and was quite confident they were safe (it all went smoothly when I redeemed).

    • Nice. Some staff at Woolworths are cool.

    • Same at Bondi Woolies, they were hyper aware of scams and tampering.

  • Went to grab a few hundred worth at my local Woolworths and the usual signage wasn’t present on the display, not easily found online either to verify the bonus points. Eventually we found it in the physical catalogue to verify it, anyone else gets stuck.

Attendant was cool in helping me out and said if there were any issues with tampering to come find her, but was all good.

    • Yeah I did not see it advertised anywhere except the physical catalogue, but points are awarded and Qantas points are already in my account

  • what's the max value on each of these usually in store?

trying to figure the best way to buy a macbook pro right now

    thanks

    • +1

$500. I just bought 4 x for a Macbook Air. Make sure to check for tampering

      • thanks just got 10x 500, and 50k qantas points almost immediately for my MBPro!

Immediately cashed them onto my appleID

  • I'm sure its been asked somewhere in the hundreds of times these Apple 20xpoints have come up, but can I buy these with an Everyday Wish card?
or is it "can't buy a gift card with a gift card"?
Just checking to see if anyone has tried it

  • Any Turkish gift cards?

  • I have an NZ Apple ID, will I be able to load these onto my account or only works with Aus Apple ID?

Wanting to grab a MacBook Air using AOC discount.
    Pair it with TRS.

    • +1

It won't matter where your ID is - you can use up to 8 cards directly at the Apple Store online checkout :)

      • Thanks! Unfortunately just saw this expires tonight - wont be there till the weekend rip
