    Others do 6 months so..

    • +2

a churner is a churner. be 6 months or different one each month.

I think this one might be one of the cheapest atm for 1000Mbps plan also

      • +2

the problem of churning with this 2mth offer is that in 2mths of time, there might be no good offer like the one with Origin (6mth).

so you end up missing out more.

I'll stick with Origin this time.

    • +1

      Not 50% off

    • Exactly. 2 months is piss-weak!

  • +10

Picked this up last time, tried a few times to get them to extend >3 months but no go.

If you're a churner, note that Superloop's deal pricing excludes customers returning within 12 months, they only reveal the true cost after contract was signed.

I've had luck. Just need to sign up in different name. Then just switch the subs between the 2 accounts.

      • Different name as in second resident? or nickname? eg Nicholas to Nick?

        • Second resident. As you need a valid form of ID. I just signed up again using the link above after switching from another account but I have used the current account for this promo before.

Origin has 50% off for 6 months

    • Thx, will consider after my 6 is done with amaysim

Got Origin few weeks ago. So far so good.

      • How's latency? How's peak evening speeds?

        • +2

Origin uses Superloop's backend, so no real difference than Superloop themselves, who are great

        • +1

I've been with Origin twice and have had no issues. Currently $53.50 for 500/50.

        • +1

Latency is good about 4 ms during peak hours

      • any idea how far in future can the start date be set?

        • +3

Up to 30 days in advance for Origin nbn.

      • With Origin, do you need to sign in with user name and password or does the switch happens automatically?

        • +5

          IPoE (Automatically).

        • Nope

      • does it use CGNAT?

  • I wish they had a two gig plan

  • +1

2months……. if you really like switch nbn

    • get a 4 port ntd and switching isp is easy as f

  • +1

    6 months or nothing!

  • ok

  • what's their definition of "new customer"?

    • +9

Disconnect your old service on last day of your billing cycle, wait couple hours for their system to flush it (with HFC connections anyway), then you can sign back up. Done it multiple times.

      • Thanks mate

  • +3

I was with them recently for 6 weeks (moved early due to a FTTC to FTTP upgrade). Good speeds and latency on 100/20 FTTC.

Does Telstra require notice for cancellation or do they auto pro-rate a refund when you churn irrespective of when in the billing cycle?

    • No notice for cancellation required, they refund on pro-rata basis.

      • do they legit do full pro rata refund?
say if wanna join for 1 day - 1 week. they'd only charge

(Promotion PLAN price/30)* connected days and rest refunded ? if so ngl, it might be cheaper than Launtel.

        • Pretty sure they do, but let me check my bill recently to double check.

  • My Telstra app is offering $20 off any NBN plan for 12 months. (Used to have NBN with them 7 months ago, still have another service active) So makes the 500Mbps internet-only plan $79, so not bad.

If you still have the My Telstra app and login might be worth checking for the targeted offers.

    • +1

      $79 isn't good

      • +1

It is for them, and the fact its 12 months too, I am with Leaptel at the moment paying $69 for 12months (Fibre Upgrade).

The other providers sure the going rate is $65 - $69 for 6 months and then you have to find someone else to churn to. For an extra $10 I think it's worth it, especially not having to join a CGNAT provider, researching first if it can be disabled, etc.

    • Yep I signed up for that $79 plan using the WELCOME20 code. I was already with Telstra but it let me add a second NBN service at the same address, and then I cancelled the first one when I got the new service activated.

I like sticking with Telstra because they frequently run Telstra Plus promotions and sometimes even mess up a few offers, which has worked out really well for me. A classic one was the Connected Family deal during COVID, it was meant to give $35 off for up to 12 months, but they forgot to remove it, so I kept getting that discount for years! It only ended about 6 months ago.

  • Ugh gotta go in store to use Aus passport for ID. I'm guessing it's a fraud thing but not really something i can get to this month.

  • where are the best 2Gbps deals these days for nbn?

  • 2 months lol

    • just a standby while people look for better deals around EOFY

  • Just 2, not worth it

  • 2 months lololol nice try telstra.

  • -3

What a joke of a deal. The optus deal is actually worth it. I got a year of paramount with my last deal. Switched and it remains. Not like these rip off merchants. Why anyone would be with them is beyond me.

    • This is Ozbargain, the prices for 2 months are currently the lowest offering around for the price so in my book is a bargain hence why I posted it on Ozbargain.

And really Optus? because they are known to be superior to Telstra ..

      • I wasn't having a go at you but Telstra. Best they can do is 2 months. When everyone else does 6 or 12. And honestly I have had 4 different providers and currently with superloop and all have provided exactly what I paid for with no need to contact help desk. And all had bonus offerings eg, $200 Woolworths points, paramount plus for 12 months. I cannot see that telstra is any better than optus or most other nbn providers.

  • The process at Telstra is hopeless. The online ordering process always shows that something went wrong at the last step. Online support and phone support are not helpful. They ask their customers to wait on the call for a long time and then tell them they can’t figure out what’s wrong. Such a joke.

  • WELCOME20 to get 20% off every month for first year, so $109 for 1000 plan

    • Not 20%, but $20 off per month for me, so $79/month for 500/50 speed. still not cheap.

  • Can you future date the commencement? I want to switch this Friday?
