Still tossing up whether to play this. I didn't enjoy SWSH series, SV eventually grew on me and i absolutely enjoyed Arceus! I do really enjoy GO which i play daily.
The main story and gameplay is some of the most fun I've had playing pokemon games in years but the DLC is an utter slogfest and I burned out before finishing the story of the DLC and picked up Legends Arceus again which I put down after the kleavor mission back in 2022. I think it's worth picking up if you enjoyed Arceus.
It’s actually great, some valid criticisms but I thoroughly enjoyed it. This was the first of the “newer” Pokemon titles on the switch that I enjoyed. And yeah the DLC was horrid.
Play pokopia, it's amazing!
Its definitely a step down compared to Arceus. The story is pretty basic until the final few hours when the pacing and plot improves, but you'll appreciate it more if you played X and Y.
I didn't enjoy SWSH or SV so I'd rate it higher than those games. I could be biased though because in my eyes Arceus has been the only good Pokemon game since ORAS.
It's very trainer battles focus compared to Arceus. I enjoyed it for 25 hours to the end of story. Pokemon looks great in battle on switch 2 but city/NPC/pokemon standing in the overworld looks lacklustre.
Battle system is interesting and fast paced. Nice to get mega evolution again.
Story was pretty good for pokemon game. Leveling up is very fast (too fast imo).
Dropped it after credits for Pokopia and have sunk 70 hours on it.
