I was hoping to switch from my AirPods 2, which were starting to lose their charge. I spotted this deal and grabbed the AirPods Pro 2. I’m hoping someone else can get a good deal out of it too! It’s only available until 17 May, or until they’re all gone.

Looks like someone found a box full at the back of the warehouse

Very tempted to get this as a replacement for my bunged-up airpods pro 2, but then again am holding out for an airpods pro with h3 chip.

Dang this is a good price. Gives all the AirPods 4 with ANC deals a run for their money

Such a good price. I was waiting to find some <$300 but ended up going the pro 3’s.

I hate my Pro 3 and much rather the Pro 2.
Fits better in my ears.

Pro 2s are much more comfortable, but ANC and audio quality is better for the Pro 3s. Tempted to get another pair of 2s as I use them for sleep.

Yep much preferred the fit of my Pro 2s over the 3s - the new ones tend to fall out super easily whereas the previous two generations never did. And the 3s look ridiculous, they stick out a lot from the ear. Sound quality in the 3s is better but if the fit isn't good it doesn't matter at all.

Yeah unless you dont have an Apple Watch, and really require the heart beat sensor during workouts, the quality difference between the Pro 2, and 3, is not that significant. I also dont believe that the 3s is 50% better ANC, I swear when I first had my Air Pods Pro 2s the ANCs were flawless. I could not hear anything on the train, and at work. Then a couple of months before the new release, I started noticing I could hear more things coming through.
Also for those comparing regular AirPods ANC, their no match to a fitted bud then just the regular AirPod.
Great price for the tech / ecosystem (if you also have Apple TVs / Macs )

I can certainly tell you there is 50% better ANC. I tested my P2/P3s on a plane and train to Tokyo and it was noticable.

can the pro 2 does live translation too? or is that a pro 3 only feature

3

The Pro 2 can, but your phone needs to support Apple Intelligence, be on iOS26+, etc

3's ANC > 2's ANC. But I dont believe it is twice as effective as apple claims.
I just googled it, it says "Up to*" lol.

Love the NC when using on train. But hate as they keep falling 😭

Had mine for over 2.5 years and still going strong. Don't think APP3 is worth the extra ~$100
Buy it and no ragrats.

ragrats
Nickelodeon - is that you?

Librepods will make this Android ready thank you <3

How many people have rooted Android phones, though?

Doesn't need root on more "recent" (last few years) devices

If thats the case, they should update their documentation.

Personally found CAPod a lot easier to use and it just recently also added the ability to change settings without root (I think Google Play release hasn't been updated yet but GitHub/F-Droid release already has it). Have been using for a few years and it has been fantastic.

Any comparison between pro 2 vs pro 3? Think pro4 might come out soon

I think there was about 3 years between 2 and 3. 3 came Sept 2025 so likely a couple more years until 4.

I bought the 3s and they're gathering dust, I went back to my 2s. The 2s have better tuning and fit me better. The 3s have better noise cancelling though.

most of the comparison that saw saying that pro 3 has better ANC, better sound quality, but doesn't fit as good.

why would pro 4 come out when pro 3 was just launched lol…

These are fantastic. Would def buy again if mine died.

God damn it, I bought the APP3’s in the recent Mobileciti deal. Haven’t even opened the parcel yet. Ordered these and will flog the 3’s on marketplace, I’m deaf as hell so the noise cancellation is lost on me.

Time to replace my original airpod pro. Hate the lightning connector

Thanks Op. Ordered.

The worst checkout ever

Yeah. But Telstra is even worse.

What about it? Ain't buying so don’t have a chance to check it out.

My pixel buds pro 2 are failing after a few falls. Are these an upgrade for an Android user?

Just make sure u get librepods or CAPod and see if it is compaitable with ur phone, (Not everyone likes rooting their phone).

Price beat at OW?

They rejected, saying they no longer price-match Optus.

I dont see any stock avaiable in OW.

Tempting. Whilst paying $245 is already a tough ask for me for headphones, I noticed the pro 3 version is $329 atm - a worthy upgrade?

90-95% of of the improvement in the pro 2 already and you save $80. Some people also saying pro 2 fits better

If one gets these and add apple care cover - and say they go bad, will Apple replace them with new AirPods Pro 2 or AirPods Pro 3? (Since Apple don’t sell APP2 anymore)

Apple would still stock some of them for warranty repair. You will most likely get AirPods Pro 2.

Anyone who has both and can advise on sound quality? (ANC is not super important for my use case)
Shall I go with this APP2 or I stick with my Bose QuietComfort SC Noise Cancelling Headphones?

Incredible find, thank you OP. Have purchased 2x. For anyone tossing up these vs 3rd gen, for $245 you can’t go wrong, I sleep in these things they are so damn comfortable. ANC is still class leading. No brainer.

Great timing as I just accidentally put my CMF Buds Pro 2 through the wash by mistake and they have carked it. I went cheap with them about a year ago after being a Sony WF-1000XM3 and XM5 guy for a while and not being happy with their battery life decrease over time.
Hope that these perform well, it will be my first time getting airpods and at this low price I couldn't say no.

Got them up and running and I must say I am very happy with them. Noise cancelling is way better than CMF Buds Pro 2 and about on par with the WF-1000XM5 but the extra features that you get when using them with an iPhone are pretty cool.
Not sure I’d be as ecstatic about them at full price but at $245 they are a steal!

Tossing up whether to buy this for this good price. I have no real reason to upgrade my AirPods Pro 1s although have started to notice the infamous ‘crackle’

Maybe because of AirPods Pro 4 coming this year? Is it worth waiting?

Doubtful given the APP3 only dropped last year. Apple tend to have a longer cycle with the AirPods Pro

Great deal! Grabbed one, thanks OP. I noticed it is the 2nd generation (renewed) version of the AP2 too with magsafe charging case :)

Did you get order confirmation?

Ordered three day ago, received it today :)

That's great, just received an update that is getting delivered tomorrow. Thanks.

Ordered one aeound 7.30PM today 13 Apr but just got the order being processed email and didnt get any order confirmation so far. Did anyone receive the order confirmation and dispatched?

All sold out.
Meant to grab one last night but forgot. Ah well.

Back in stock if you want it still

I was trying to price match with JB, and they suggested the Apple AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation instead. From what they explained, the main difference compared to the Pros is really just the silicone ear tips. They said that if you’re comfortable without those, there isn’t a big difference overall. Can anyone confirm please?
https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/apple-airpods-4-with-acti…
AirPods Pro 2 vs. AirPods 4 with ANC : -
Noise Cancellation (ANC): The AirPods Pro 2 offer stronger, pro-level noise cancellation, while the AirPods 4 with ANC provide impressive, but less effective, ANC due to the open-ear design.
Fit & Design: AirPods Pro 2 use silicone tips for an in-ear seal. AirPods 4 feature a "one-size-fits-all" open-back design.
Battery Life: AirPods Pro 2 last up to 6 hours (with ANC), whereas AirPods 4 with ANC offer about 4 hours.
Controls: The Pro 2 include swipe controls on the stem to adjust volume, a feature missing on the AirPods 4.
Features: Both offer Transparency Mode, Spatial Audio, and IP54 sweat/water resistance, but the Pro 2 include specialized hearing health features and a U1 chip for precision finding.

Did anyone get a tax invoice? I received my package but I'm trying to get the warranty sorted. The package was sealed but says my limited warranty ends in July?

Mine arrived today, no invoice

When does you warranty expire when checking with your phone?

How do i check on android?

@dokyung: Mine were sealed, brand new, no invoice, and warranty ends in September. How does one fix this?

Same issue, I contacted Apple, and they said it will take 5 business days to update the date of purchase in the Apple system by Optus. So we need to wait.

What did you provide for proof of purchase? I haven't received an invoice, but I do have an order confirmation and shipping notice emails, and the shipping notice has an order number, date, and value on it, so I'm hoping this is enough for Apple.. because getting an invoice from Optus is harder than getting blood out of a stone.

They ask us to wait first, and we can upload the email that was given by Optus. She said it would be enough.

I called Optus support and they sent out an invoice for me. Apple said that the shipping notice was not enough. Do NOT go through their 24/7 chat - absolutely USELESS.

@dokyung: Honestly, this is the last time I buy something from Optus online, so far it's taken 30 mins via live chat, only to run out of time trying to explain what an invoice is, and 15 mins via phone, and I still don't have an invoice!
Now I've been asked to wait 24 - 48 hours for an invoice to be 'resent' via email, but I'm not confident they even understand what I'm asking for, and can only assume they're going to send me the shipping notice again.
Why can't they just provide an invoice or receipt at time of purchase, like every other business? This is dodgy AF if you ask me, and I can only assume the goods have been acquired outside of normal distribution channels.
I had better service buying Apple AirPods 4 from MacApp eBay two years ago, and had no issue with the purchase date being correct, even though I thought they might be grey import.

@TekniqAU: Honestly I went through the same thing. Wasted an hour with live chat. I suggest actually talking to them and giving them a call during work hours. I got the invoice sent to me within an hour. Completely agree they are dodgy AF

Also it might be unrelated but when checking the box, mine are saying “For Malaysia” then it’s written in Malaysian. I feel like this batch was initially sold for Malaysian market and somehow ended back in Aus.
I will ask for invoice too

@Val0995: Nice catch, mine also say 'For Malaysia'.. BTW I received my invoice, and it does not have a serial number on it, which Apple said was required, but they also said I could just write it on the invoice, so I did.. I was then told I have to wait up to 5 business days for Optus to update the sale in Apple's system, hopefully there's no further issues, but I don't trust Optus sales one bit anymore and will avoid them in future where possible.

@TekniqAU: I tried to spoke to the chat this morning and not sure if they employed half brain cell people or a bad bot.
Spent an hour explaining I needed and invoice, sent the delivered notice from aust post etc. Then they kept asking if the product was delivered then proceeded to tell me that it was still at the post office so couldn’t assist. Then told me if I want an invoice I need to call a specific team. The whole thing feels dodgy and by law business are required to provide invoices. I will def follow up with ACCC and Ombudsman cause I don’t think Optus will update anything on their end but let’s see. Keep us posted

@Val0995: Has your warranty date been updated?
Getting the Optus invoice is the easy part (if you know which team to contact), call 1300 720 213 during business hours, and ask them to get you the invoice for your order. All other methods, you are wasting your time and get you nowhere. That number is in the email we received about the order info, but most of us probably just did Google (well, I did) and got the generic support number - that only leads to endless frustration.
Apple part is the harder and far more annoying part because the team that have the ability to update it are very strict (if I am being nice). To be blunt, they are a bunch of a**holes. The team won't accept the Optus invoice as is, they insist on seeing serial number on the invoice as well. Even Apple Customer Support team are well aware of this. They will eventually hint you to just amend the invoice and put the serial number in (some are even willing to guide you through it). Amending the invoice and add the serial number in before calling Apple is the easiest way. If you don't and want to go through the escalate process, it will take you over 1 hour (and you will STILL be told to add the serial number to the invoice).

@netsurfer: Hey,
So I did contact them via the chat over the weekend, took me nowhere eventually (sent them the screenshot delivered, they had a look and told me that the parcel was still at the PO… just retarded so called “expert”) and redirecting me through their call line (number they gave me is expired…)
I did call today? The general line and I got 4 persons in total and lost it after an hour. They were unable to generate or find an invoice for my purchase arguing hat because I bought outright and not part of a contract it’s different (obviously it was a remote customer service line and they had no clue but to pass me to another colleague…), they said one of their manager would call me and never did.
I have now lodged a complaint with the Telco Ombudsman (unsure if that is the right thing) and ATO tip off since they failed to provide me with an invoice. Will see where that leads, I will try to call your number and hopefully can get my invoice.
Regarding the warranty part, yes I saw a “limited warranty” running until mid June this year but then when clicking on it it was updated to the date I turned on my AirPod to a year late (18/04/2027). I did ended up taking Apple care anyway to be safe.

@Val0995: If you still want the invoice, call 1300 720 213, tell them you bought AirPods Pro 2 online and need the invoice for Apple warranty purposes. They will be able to raise a request for the back office to send you one (normally, they say within 24 hours). I had to call them twice (after 48 hours, still no invoice), the second lady told me I would get it within the day, and it arrived within an hour.
For me, Apple Support, has really gone downhill, especially on this issue. Not only there is a long wait, and their standard customer support are powerless on this, and the team that can fix this are a real pain to deal with. Furthermore, only Apple would pull such a stunt on warranty, if the customer cannot prove the purchase date with an invoice to Apple's liking, it will be based on manufactured date.

For everyone who has issues - Get the optus invoice by calling them. Add the serial on the invoice (i just did this on my phone) and send it to apple support. Apple support requires the invoice AND the serial number on the invoice. Got my warranty sorted immediately and can now add AppleCare as well.
Overall a frustrating experience but at least I was able to get it sorted out.

Good to know you sorted it out as well.

ATL was $199 as I remember, for grey import. This is a good deal for this price. ordered Thanks. but no invoice included.

I was waiting for the APP2 to get down to this ~$250 mark but ended up paying more for the APP3 for just under $300. Probably a better buy but I wouldn't have minded spending $50 less for the 2's since there doesn't appear to be a significant difference in quality.

Mine got updated to coverage till April 2027, initially it was July 2026.
Didn’t do anything from my end. Took about 2 days to reflect the new date.

Did it happen automatically? Did you have to unpair your airpods?

I didn’t do anything from my end.
Paired them the first time and that’s it.

My warranty on an iPhone shows expires 25/9/2026. Eeek

I found that if I clicked on the Limited Warranty section in the AirPods menu where it displays a September 2027 date, it then reverted to a date in April 2027.
Also like others, my box definitely indicates that this product was destined for the Malaysian market.

You meant it was Sep 2026 initially and later changed to April 2027? There is no way Apple gives you 17 months warranty instead of standard 12.
Don't worry about the Malaysian market. Read Are My Apple AirPods Pro 2 from Officeworks Genuine?. Same issue with AirPods Pro 2 purchased from OfficeWorks, Amazon and JB Hi Fi. Some people already purchased AppleCare (AU price).

Guess I'm calling optus tomorrow!

Nice find!
