NordVPN: 100% Cashback on 1 Month / 1 Year / 2 Year Plans for New NordVPN Customers @ ShopBack

not associated with israel unlike expressvpn (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/955337)

tips via @trixieb

100% Cashback is for the VPN service only (basic plan, no add-ons). NordPass password manager, NordLocker cloud storage etc are ineligible for cashback.
Choose a country with NO GST e.g. Christmas Island. Screenshot here. GST is ineligible for cashback.
Use a new email address for NordVPN if you have purchased before. The same payment card and same TopCashback account are fine.
Pay with a card without international transaction fees. If using PayPal AU, there could be a currency conversion fee from PayPal AU. These fees are not eligible for cashback.
The tracked amount in your TopCashback account will be slightly lower than what you are charged. This is probably due to the currency conversion fees/taxes as NordVPN reports to TopCashback in USD which is converted to AUD. 100% cashback minus the fees/taxes.
If your order doesn't track, please cancel and request for a refund from NordVPN within 30 days under their 30-day money-back guarantee. Please do not submit a missing cashback claim.
If you cancel for non-tracking, you can buy again. Use a new email address for NordVPN with the same TopCashback account. Same payment card is fine.
You can cancel auto-renewal after you have received cashback.

For better tracking, use the TopCashback app, click the "Get 100% Cashback" pink button to the NordVPN website (not app), use mobile data (not Wi-Fi) and Chrome browser.
TA's Tracking Tips:

Prior to using TopCashback, disable/remove all 3rd party plugins (AdBlock, uBlock, Pi-hole, Honey, etc), VPNs, avoid browsers such as Brave and close any additional browser tabs.
For iOS device: Apart from ensuring you’re not using an AdBlock app for Safari, the most important one is to ensure you have ‘Prevent Cross-Site Tracking’ turned off (see here).

What will stop me getting my cashback

Cashback is eligible in full on NordVPN's Basic Plan only. If you choose the Plus Plan or Complete Plan, only the VPN component of the plan will be eligible for cashback. Any additional products that come bundled with those plans will be ineligible for cashback (eg. NordPass, NordLocker, and others).
Cashback is eligible for new NordVPN customers only. Renewals are ineligible.
A new click/tap from TopCashback's 'Get cashback' button must be generated with each new order from NordVPN. Failure to do so will cause all cashback on subsequent orders to be declined by NordVPN.
Cashback is ineligible on payments made with Crypto currency.
NordVPN is excluded from all signup and referral bonus thresholds. Reference the Tell-a-Friend terms for more information.
Cashback is ineligible on use of any codes not approved and posted by TopCashback.
Cashback is ineligible on use of any gift cards, vouchers, or store credit for partial or full payment. Cashback is also ineligible on purchase of any gift cards.
Cashback is ineligible on purchases made via the retailer's mobile app.

What else is essential

NordVPN orders report to your account excluding GST and other taxes, and may show a further difference in purchase amount due to international conversion rates. This is beyond our control.
Engaging with plugins such as Honey, AdBlock, uBlock, Pi-hole, VPNs, DNS AdGuard, and browsers such as Brave may prevent your order from tracking.
Accept and allow all 3rd party cookies on the retailer's page if requested.
Return to TopCashback to click the 'Get Cashback' button for each new transaction.
Transactions must be completed solely & wholly online and must not be assisted or negotiated via phone/chat/email. Failure to do so will cause tracking to fail and/or have cashback declined.

shopback description:

You won't get Cashback on:

Purchase of Nordpass and Nordlock plans / programmes / subscriptions / Dedicated IP
Any Gift Card, Voucher or store credit purchase
Payments using Cryptocurrency
Fees · Taxes

Any exceptions will be at the store's discretion.

NordVPN terms and conditions

Cashback is only valid for New NordVPN Subscriptions & Standard Plan only
Those who have used NordVPN under a free trial are considered existing NordVPN customers.
Due to currency fluctuations, discrepancies may apply to the Cashback amount you receive. Please note that the purchase amount ShopBack receives is not what your bank charges you, but what NordVPN reports back to us in AUD.

Sweet, my Nord was ending soon.

    • +7

      Good VPN

EDIT: Relax folks - clicked the wrong vote and can't seem to revoke or switch. Mod can fix if wishes.

      • +6

I have upvoted you to cancel out your downvote.

        • +1

          Thanks

  • +17

Upvote for no association with Israhell. Plus my free ones expiring soon.

  • Is only the Basic plan eligible? Is the plus plan eligible? The ad blocker feature seems to be useful.

  • If you pick the others. The cashback remains equipment to basic plan value

    • How do you know this? Was looking to get the Plus plan

      • check previous post of 100% cashback

  • +14

I never forget that Nord VPN rejected my cashback with no valid reason. Neg

    • +3

Shopback has been worse lately. Can't trust them to work

    • +3

      Same, no valid reason, Neg

    • even after its tracked?
If you cancel after 30days do they refund pro-rata basis?

  • Anyone know if the merchant is Australia based? Will I be charged international transaction fees when paying from my credit card that doesn't have $0 intl. fees?

    • +1

Haven't confirmed myself, but the body of the post says:

Pay with a card without international transaction fees

    • +1

If the country you select is Australia (and pay the GST) you will be charged in AUD out of a Sydney Nord merchant.

If you are buying elsewhere you will get hit with international currency.

  • +12

    Why mentioned Isarel?

    • +8

Virtue signalling. For practical benefit should explain or link to the Kape back story for those that it matters. Both are largely irrelevant for your average joe basic user.

    • +3

Some of us are disgusted at the actions of that country and the web of influence they have over most western countries. Also most age verification sites on porn websites are from that country too. So yeah I don't want them anywhere near my data.

    • +1

Coz them satanic and genocidal zio f#!k$ are running and ruining the world, with absolutely zero care for anyone but themselves and their barbaric annexations. And you and me gentiles along with our little children are just their goyims in all this - just ask Epstein. FFS when will you wake up?!

  • Can someone please explain how choosing a country with no GST isn't tax evasion?

    • +12

      It's tax minimisation

    • It is tax evasion. Don’t do it. We all need your $10.

    • +2

      It's theft circumvention.

    • Yawn

    • +1

      Antisemitic

      Please explain.

  • For new customers only? I already got an account.. :(

    • +34

Criticising a country is not racism

    • +1

      Xenophobic, perhaps. But not racist.

      • When you need to supply 624 trucks daily of humanitarian aid and BS yourself though reasons why less than 24 make it through each day …wrong in anyone's book unless you are into starving people.

Don't support massacring people either, but no justification for deliberately doing that.

    • +6

me personally i don't like it when children are bombed

Is the Pro Plus plan not eligible for the cashback ??

talking about VPN only ofc i.e.

    Plus 2-year plan (A$4.89/mo)
    A$117.36 (Save 75% A$482.161)

    • On the Shopback app, it says similar under exclusions - "Cashback is only valid for new NordVPN subscriptions & Standard Plan only".

I assume only the basic plan applies to this deal. So about $100 upfront for a 2 year plan with the current deal they have going.

    • +18

What exactly is disgusting about avoiding a service with ties to Israeli intelligence and potential involvement in genocide?

        • +11

          Oh what a comeback!

        • +2

Eradicating a civilisation is fine as long as you don't have a funny moustache?

            • +2

@Xizor: Here's some quick stats from ChatGPT just to quickly put things in perspective:

Palestinian losses since current war began (approx.)
              ~30,000–40,000+ deaths
              ≈ 1.5–2% of Gaza’s population

Israeli losses since current war began (approx.)
              ~1,100–2,000 deaths
              ≈ 0.01–0.02% of Israel’s population

              Jewish losses from Holocaust (approx.)
              ~6,000,000 deaths
≈ 35–40% of the global Jewish population

To take the side of Israel:
If you ask me Israel is acting like someone who has been taken advantage of. They are overreacting because of past traumas. All they know is that someone is the abuser and someone is victim, that's their world view. To be fair though, Hamas seems able and willing to Martyr themselves and the population voted them in.

To take the side of Palestine:
There are people alive who remember being forced from their homes in the middle of the night having to watch as other families take their homes from them. Imagine waking up as a child and suddenly realising you're now in an open air prison because another group of people… Religious zealotry would be real appealing…

          💯

  • +8

Why is top cashback referenced for a shopback promotion?

  • +13

Well, can't comment on OP's personal views on specific countries or the people living in them, but it's not controversial advice to consider avoiding higher-risk jurisdictions for your VPN (five/nine/fourteen eyes, israel, etc), and that's independent of whoever their government is currently killing. E.g., mainstream recommendation: https://www.techradar.com/vpn/why-does-vpn-jurisdiction-matt…

Even worse, the Five Eyes nations don't work alone; they have satellite partners to assist them in their intelligence-gathering tasks. Some of these partners include Israel, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, and the British Overseas Territories.

    […]

All in all, you should avoid VPNs based in any of these jurisdictions to prevent your sensitive information from being passed on to authorities.

Not wanting the VPN you're using to be based out of China isn't (at least inherently) Sinophobic and isn't about people of Chinese ethnicity, it's about the Chinese government being a risk to your privacy if you're routing all your internet traffic through their jurisdiction.

    • +1 if you really care about privacy, use mullvad or similar. no such thing as free lunch

  • +16

For all the people jumping on the "racist" bandwagon just because he mentions Israel, it's not racism. There's potential data logging and sharing of what is meant to be a private service. It's a normal, common, known concern for VPNs. Sheesh

Concerns about Israeli-owned VPNs (such as those under Kape Technologies: ExpressVPN, CyberGhost, PIA) center on potential ties between company leadership and Israeli intelligence, particularly Unit 8200. Critics worry that these connections, combined with legal requirements, could allow for surveillance, data logging, or traffic interception, posing risks to user privacy, especially for activists or journalists.

They also share intelligence with Five Eyes

  • +1

Great. Mine just expired. 4th time I've joined with a 100% cashback success rate. Love Nord

  • +5

I also got cashback rejected but after I couldn’t cancel the plan anymore, beware

    • Useless shopback always find a way to not honor the big deals even though they happily send you 10 emails about it and free advertise here, apparently clicking through from here doesn't work if they have to pay out ~$100

  • +3

Charged $100.56 with Revolut via PayPal. Cashback tracked within 10 mins at $95.08

  • I opened the link and it shows 75% off instead of 100%.
    Why is that?

  • Cashback tracked after 20 mins at $95.26

  • No tracking after 9 hours. Fingers crossed it went through.

    • Did yours end up tracking?

      • It didn't but I realised it was my fault for using an email that was previously signed up to Nord. I cancelled and created a new email to sign up with. It tracked fine afterwards.

  • Confirmed working, Charged $100.56 with Revolut via PayTo. Cashback tracked around 10 mins after at $95.08

  • Is it worth waiting for one of those 100+% cashbacks from some other providers that are not associated with any of these dodgy surveillance states?

    • Isn't that what this one is?

      • This one's 100% CB. Some of the previous ones have been 130% CB as well

        • I've only seen 130% CB for PureVPN.

  • My Nord expires in June - is there a time period within the new account must be activated? i.e. straight away?

  • +1

For anyone who has a more casual use case for a VPN I'd recommend just getting a free proton VPN account

    • How good is it though? Can you watch netflix/youtube over it?

      • I do yeah

  • -1

Get in quick before our communist government bans these outright. Screeching like the reverend's wife in the simpsons 'Won't someone please think of the children?!' 😂

    • +6

The reverend's wife isn't a great analogy. It's a bad analogy because the reverend's wife is genuinely worried about the children.
On the other hand, our authoritarian governments are not concerned about the children (exhibit A: I note that no one has been charged or gone to jail because of their collaborations with Jeffrey Epstein and no arrest warrants have been issued).
Children are being used as an excuse only.

      • +1

They're certainly not concerned with their poster boy of the midd-2000s K Rudd having dinners with Epstein

  • my last 2 year membership lapse a while ago but i can't remember if i changed ISP since then (new IP) or whether i logged in at some point in the last months.

aside from a new email, do you need to ensure it's a fresh IP for signup so there's no flags as a prev. customer?

    • Nah doesnt work like that.

  • Just got the two year plan. Thanks for the reminder of not being associated with the war crime murderers, it's always great to have a an option on that for the products we are using.

  • Got charged $100.56 and Shopback tracked the transaction 20mins after. But it's only tracking $95.86.

    • That's normal, you don't actually get the full 100% because of conversion or whatever.

    • I had one of these deals before when it was like 95% cashback. This one sounds like one of these 95% cashback. Why don't they just say that? Sounds better if you say 100% cashback, I suppose.

  • +2

Bunch of triggered boomers in these comments, ey. Nothing quite like licking the boots of some genocidal war criminals!

    • I have no love for any party in any of the confict, they all have huge fault in my view and you reep what you sow. The world be a far better place if they all got teleported to mars. But I'd argue it's more a case of ignorance / selective hypocrisy than triggered boomers (I'm gen x).

If you want to call the shit Israel does as genocide and get all virtue signally about products, then you should hold the same passion and vigor over what Iran has done to the native persians, what china has done to the uyghur and others, all manner of shit in africa especially Nigeria with islamists wiping our christians, even Russia's actions in Ukraine are FAR more relevant given the Ukrainian's don't use civilians as human shields. Those are just off the top of my head. But of course, it's easy to be trend follower, it takes effort to actually be principled.

    • -2

Interesting that you label anyone who rejects your narrative as "boomers". Shaming tactic of the left…

      • -1

Rejects my narrative? 😂 The truth is an objective fact, it can't be "rejected", you ignorant boomer.

        • -1

And again with the name calling, if you had any 'facts' you wouldn't need to keep up the school-ground antics. Are you 5?

I reject your jihadi propaganda. There's a reason you didn't bat an eyelid at the Ukraine war, it's antisem…….

  • @gotyourback would I be able to purchase this deal from New Zealand?

  • -7

    OzAntisemitism

  • I'm not able to click on "Complete purchase" (Card number is not valid + Expiration date is not valid & CVV/CVC is not valid)

or use Google Pay (Something went wrong. Try again.)

    Anyone having the same problem?

  • +1

Concern I have is: My OS (Ubuntu) said there were a bunch of updates, one of them was NordVPN. I update NordVPN and reboot and it killed my internet connection with my home network. I spent about 4 hours online with their support and the only way to fix it was to be successful to login to NordVPN. Even when I uninstalled NordVPN, still no access to the internet (because it was buggering up my home network connection). The solution was to connect to another hotspot (not my home network, because it was buggered), login to NordVPN, then I can be connected to my home network.

  • Sorry, what do people use VPN for anyway. It is not like in china where websites are blocked?

    • +2

      porn

  • is this deal still working?

  • Worked for me but not for my friend. Both pruchased from the shopback app…
