Thank goodness a decent code drops.

  • -2

    what is the Code ??

  • +10

if it’s a individual owned store they just use less toppings on these deals but still worth it

    • +4

I have experienced the same thing.

    • To deal with lousy businesses like this, just check it and if not good, just say that skimping on topping is not acceptable. Then remove half the money from your hand and say, because you brought me half a pizza, ill give you half the money, or you can take it back.
even if they take it back, any profit they made by skimping was immediately lost, and then some in delivery cost, packaging etc

then put another order in online again.

      • But then what is your point of comparison?
I don't have anything else to compare it against.
Unless I go to another store and buy the exact same pizza.

Hmmm.. You're giving me an idea.
I may get two pizzas from two different stores. But so much work and driving in this economy is… Expensive.

    "large"

      • +3

Was curious so looked it up.
Bronx pizzas are 18" for $32.90. ~49.9cm² of pizza per $1.
Dominos's 'Large' are 10" for $9 premium or $7.50 traditional for this ½ price deal. So 56cm² or 67.5cm² in comparison. Definitely bad value at their normal RRP.

Subjective taste (apparently they don't do pork?) and amount of toppings not withstanding obviously.

        • +1

Isn't it ham? Oh wait, is it CHICKEN HAM? YUCK! Hmmm… I just checked their menu. You're right, it's Halal, no pork. 😪

          • +2

@Lord Ra: Right I didn't even realise that was a thing until one of the comments on that FB link mentioned facon and beef pepperoni + all the indy joints around me are non-halal.

            • +1

@vawiyoci: Wait WHAT? Is this in regards to dominos? Dont dominos use real pork (in the stores that are in certain neighbourhoods?)

              • +1

@lonewolf: No was talking about Bronx Pizza in Canberra that go2home linked, seems to be a halal joint.

      • You are comparing prices from one store in Canberra against a national chain. hard to compare quality, let alone the convenience of location. Don't get me wrong, I usually get my pizzas from independent stores as a matter of principle, but a bargain is a bargain and I will occasionally buy a pizza from Domino's, being a tight arse.

Don't forget, the "Create your Own" pizza falls under traditional - Sauce, Mozz cheese + any 4 toppings of your choosing. I usually go with bacon, pepperoni, smoked ham, and three cheese blend. Not bad for $8.

    • +1

      Thanks will
      Try it next time

      • +1

Great advice mate. Thanks for that.

    • +1

      that's awesome, thanks

    • +2

the real bargain is always in the comments! thanks mate!

    • +6

found a hack to take this a step further. once you've added the 4 toppings, you can remove the mozz cheese and replace it with three cheese blend, effectively allowing you 4 meat/veg toppings.

      Proof: https://imgur.com/a/KheKEtd

      • +2

Doesn't seem to be working for me, anyone figured it out? Cheers

Edit - There might be a value of surcharge variable when adding a 5th topping, removed $2.99 item and added a $1.99 item and it worked

This comment needs to be stickied on all Dominos deals. My smallest child only eats cheese pizza and the custom pizza with maxed cheese is 100x better than the standard cheese pizza

      • Thanks mate! I always try to post that type of comment when anything Dominos tradition/premium deal comes up. Glad you enjoyed it!!

    • Hmm, I cant see 3 cheese blend in QLD, must be store/state specific.

  • -5

Quality and value of dominos is in the shitter.

Also have to pickup or pay delivery - meaning more 💰 and more ⏰/ 🚗 for 💩.

If you’re lazy to make them yourself from scratch (or on a pre-made pizza base), Aldi has heaps good ones (place them in the oven - easy!) at better pricing/ quality than ‘Dough-mines-no’

    https://www.aldi.com.au/products/freezer/frozen-pizzas/k/111…

    • +8

You cant really talk about quality when you're linking to frozen pizzas. However Dominos make them, they'll be better than supermarket frozen. Go to a nearby corporate owned store if your local isnt good.

And i'm not one of the ones negging you for having an opinion

      • -1

You cant really talk about quality when you're linking to frozen pizzas.

        Sure I can.
EVERYTHING has an inherent quality to them, be it good or bad, or relative to another.

        Also:

at better pricing/ quality than ‘Dough-mines-no’”

    • +1

this one is the best! Smashes everything else. Put some Salami on it, delicious. Made in Italy also https://www.aldi.com.au/product/italpizza-la-numero-uno-marg…

      • How do these compare to the famed Destination Italy pizzas at Coles?

        • Destination wasn’t that good.

Nothing frozen has been better than ristorante.

        • +1

Those were decent these are better

          • +1

@casho: Thanks mate, I'll give them a try. I like to brush the crust with olive oil and sprinkled shredded parmesan around the crust to fancy it up a bit. Big +1000 for adding salami on top.

      • +1

Can confirm. Tastes nothing like a frozen pizza. Frozen pizza tech has come a long way.

      • +1

Thanks for this link, I dont remember seeing this in Aldi, but if its there, sure buy next time.

  • -2

    Which is best?
    Large, Premium or Traditional

    • +6

Supposedly Premium is the top tier, and traditional the second. Large is a size, not a quality tier

  • +11

The "large" pizzas are so small now that I can finish a slice (without the crust) in one bite.

    • +1

They came up with another larger size option and even that isn't that large.

    • You could do this and be a YouTube star.

    • Good for dieting i guess

  • -1

Haha any else saw title national and thought it was for the national pies?

  • Line up, line up for your slop! The bread and circuses are open all week!

  • If only there was a shopback offer

  • +3

50% off toppings at my local

  • Whole week 1/2 price on Premium. Sounds good.

They now make all flat prices. $9 for Chicken & Camembert and Galic Prawn seems good if they don't cut the meat.

    Anyway, time to go dating.

  • Never had one bite of dominos since I tried Costco's $3 pizza

    • Never heard of this $3 pizza. Is that from the freezer ?

      • +2

Its one slice…and more dough than ingredients sometimes

  • how large is large domino pizza these days?

  • +1

Glad to see WA gets discounts again. I didn't have Domino's since they stopped. $9 for a chicken & camembert was a fairly nice deal.

    • Looks like meatlovers is back on the menu
