Ye publicly apologised this year for all the unhinged behaviour, so now feels like as good a time as any to revisit the music that made him.

The College Dropout - easily one of the greatest hip-hop albums ever - is currently 40% off on Amazon Australia for just $12.66. Ye publicly apologised this year for all the unhinged behaviour, so now feels like as good a time as any to revisit the music that made him.member he still sells a shirt with his name as a (profanity) swastika, old mate is off the rocker, hey.

    FTFY ;)

Edit: Jokes aside I went and had a look at his merch store and there's multiple "Jesus is King" lines too. It's not as bad as Nazi shit, obviously, but frankly, I don't care for that evil group either.

Edit 2: lmao, I like how I got an upvote when the post was just anti-Nazi, but the second I bring another evil murderous cult responsible for millions of deaths into the mix, there's a dislike. You're not the same…but you're kind of the same, just with a longer backstory :)

    • Jesus is King

      • Pretty sure that was a doctor, not Jesus.

        • Are you gonna tell us what kind of doctor? Or can you not talk about that?

        • doctor who heals by touch and a flash of light!

      • Jesus walks

      • Oh, brother. I have some awkward news for you

        • The more awkward part is that you used bing.

          • @MrPants: Gotta get them Microsoft Rewards points, baybee!

Currently got around 140k, which roughly translates to "I won't be paying real money for my copy of GTA6 when it drops"

            • @TheDukeOfNukem: Still a big price to pay to use Bing

            • @TheDukeOfNukem: How do you get so many? I am redeeming $5 Xbox gift cards at a time and barely get 100 points per day, if I'm lucky!

              • @ozbozb123: 100 a day, these days, isn't too bad. You used to get a LOT more. You used to be able to automate searches too, so I used to use Google like everyone else, but once a day, via an extention in Chrome, I would tell it to do 30 random searches via Bing, which would be done in a minute or so in the background, and I'd get my 90 daily points every day. It was great. When they nerfed that, a little part of me died.

Anyway you didn't ask for a history lesson and I would have kept going a lot longer, so to answer what I do now, well, I don't have Game Pass, if I did, I'd have a lot more, but I do literally only this.

                  1. Make sure I tick the box for playing a game every day on Xbox. This is 5 points per day, which is (profanity) nothing, but you need 5 days in a week to get the bonus. The bonus now, I think is 110, used to be 150, used to be 300 before that, ugh. But 110, plus your day per week makes 135 points per week. (145 if you do all 7 days)
                  1. The daily activities on rewards.microsoft.com or the Bing app. These used to vary in points and effort, but for the last year, they have been 10 points per activity and a simple click and close. [edit: by this I mean you click it, it opens a Bing search for whatever thing they felt like showing you that morning, and you close it, you get points that simply] (A couple weeks ago, they were 5 points per activity, but that only lasted a few days, wouldn't be shocked if it comes back though). So that's 30 points per day. And you want to do that 7 days a week (more on that later), so 210 per week. Plus 135/145 makes 345/355.
                  1. Daily checkins. Now this technically is a few things, but you've already done two if you're up to this point. Doing 3 searches a day nets you 9 points, every week (7 days from whenever you start, whereas the point 1's week auto starts on Mondays) you will get a streak bonus. This is worth 100 points. So if you do 3 searches a day, you will get 100 points every week, plus those 3 searches, so 9 points x 7 makes 63 points, plus the 100. 163+ 345/355, we're gonna split the difference and say a blanket 500 points. You will also get 100 points for completing the week of your daily activities every day, so you're now 600 per week. Check in via the Bing app every day will also get you points, though a lesser amount, it's around 5 per day, the first day of the streak may be 2 or 3 or something, but then there's 5 and 10 near the end, maybe a 15, I don't remember. You get only 50 points for completing the week of these. Buuuut that's basically another 100 points a week, so 700 per week.
                  1. Stamps. For every weekly streak you complete online, so the checkin, the dailies, the searches, you will get a stamp. Get 12 stamps and you get another 1000 points, which, you know, not horrible. You'll stack them up pretty quickly if you do everything, I usually get at least one stamp card a month filled and I have been pretty lazy with it since they started nerfing points hard a year or two back.

With that in mind, you should manage 700 odd points per week pretty easily. If you get Game Pass, you get a lot more. If you bother to use Edge, you can get even more. If you set your default thing to Bing like I have, you can get up to 90 points additionally every day, which is probably my main thing over you, because I've just got us to 700 and you were doing about 100 per day so it about lines up. But if you do that, and if you use Edge too (I don't, been Chromebook only for over a decade until recently getting the MacBook Neo, so it wasn't even an option for me), you should be able to stack on another 100 odd points pretty easily every day with just your normal searching habits. There's also bonuses and extra little "punchcards" you can do here and there to get extra stuff. Mostly I just do the stuff in the side bar on the website, so there'll be ones every week like "Bing the weather for 50 points", "search DIY kits for 20 points", etc. that will help you stack up a few more points too.

I'm on what they call level 2, which you get by earning 500 or 750 (I forget) points per month and completely 2 level up activities (those streaks I mentioned all count, so don't bother asking, do those, and you'll be level 2) and level 2 gets a bit of a discount on vouchers, so like, a $5 Xbox store voucher for me is just under 3000 points (wanna say 2940 from memory but could be off).

So in essence, if you're getting 700 per week, add a couple hundred for searching throughout the week and 1000 is pretty doable. With 1000 per week, you should be on track to get around 7.50 or so each month on average in Xbox credit. I usually get around 10k points these days just by doing what I said, checking the boxes, doing the dailies (which takes MAYBE 15 seconds), and swapping over to Bing as my default. So with 10k points per month, that's a bit over $15 bucks every month, it's not a lot, but considering the time I just spent writing this bullshit, I'm sure you can imagine, I don't have a problem clicking buttons for fun. But yeah, 15 per month is better than a kick in the head.

I used to do the Xbox daily game playing on everyone's account (me, missus, 2 kids), so I'd sign everyone in when we'd launch the console, and then when we hit 15 minutes of playtime in a game (regardless of who is actually playing, so long as you're signed in) you'd get the points (which used to be 15 I think, it was 10 for ages til they dropped it to 5 recently, and I gave up), and then the weekly bonus for doing 5 or more days (which, again, used to be 300 points), so in spending that extra 10 seconds or so every day, I was stacking points on 4 accounts. The missus used it from time to time to buy the little $6.45 character packs in Fortnite that came with 600 Vbucks whenever there was something she wanted in the shop. My eldest had bought a fair few cheap little games for herself (most recently, Australia's own Screencheat), and my youngest I didn't buy anything with (he is 3), but I was just stockpiling for the shit of it, he got to about 45 or so bucks of credit before they started nerfing and I gave up, that would have been half a year or so doing the dailies, so ticking one box a day for a few months basically.

Long story short, I'm a slut for free money I guess.

                • @TheDukeOfNukem: Unfortunately, I couldn't read all of this, but I do think that you are clinically insane. Just FYI

                • @TheDukeOfNukem: OzBargain members when they have to endure a shit experience to earn $15 a month.

                • @TheDukeOfNukem: Okay, wow that's a lot of work. I probably overstated 100 per day as well, because all I do is click those daily things and move on. I don't use Bing or edge, nor do I have gamepass anymore.

I think this is not worth my time for such little reward but I appreciate your commitment.

It feels like that old cash for clicks thing from the internet of the late 90s, so I mostly do it for nostalgia.

                  • @ozbozb123: Pretty much. I remember doing "MyOpinions" surveys in high school for Domino's and Nando's vouchers, so defo got the nostalgia going for me too.

It's definitely not worth it if you want to make money, but for me, 10/15 seconds a day is pretty doable. The Xbox is already getting used, I'll usually Google a good 20/30 things a day as a base level, if not more, so swapping to Bing instead of Google is basically a fun little bonus.

        • brilliant I reckon if yer dedicated and driven enough. All good.
I do the google opinion rewards (surveys) so I don't have to add a payment method to the Play store. They get pretty intrusive which is total BS when it is supposed to be your "opinion", but I give them BS back for the intrusive stuff.

          • @rentonc: Love it! That's up there with me clicking "custom payment amount" and paying one cent more than the exact amount I used on my EastLink eTag thing. They will tell you it's a minimum deposit of 40 bucks, and if you go in person it is, but if you click custom amount, you can really pay anything. (profanity) those guys making interest off my 40 odd sitting there lol

      • Funny thing is, this is literally why he got crucified, NOT because he was telling people to turn the other cheek or that he was a god. A bit like me claiming I’m a doctor then getting upset I’m sent to prison for treating people as a doctor.

    • Look out everybody, we've got a badass fresh from Reddit over here.

    • The current bad crop don't like Jesus or the Nazis, and they are also just as bad. The moral of the story is bad people can be found in all groups, but it's the apathy of good people that allows the poisonous ideas to spread. Good people have to get off their collective behinds and protest, boycott, vote, and disrupt to get change for the better

      • 10/10

Pls note I'm the one arguing against the Nazi troll below

        • Yeah I got it, it just took me too long to work out some of this stuff. People feel good about themselves because they do no evil, but evil doesn't sleep, it's working all the time, and it's only the good people who actually stand up to it who make a difference.

Case in point, years ago when I would post that something was on the boycott list I would have some people liking it, and others complaining about it. Now that people can see what's going on the tables gave turned, people are waking up. We need those people to work not just in word but in deed, because the people scamming the world right now aren't going to stop because of popular opinions alone.

    • "but the second I bring another evil murderous cult responsible for millions of deaths into the mix" - Didn't see you mention Islam once.

      • Just out of curiosity asked AI which religion has killed the most. Approximated Christianity being 15-20 million and Islam being 5-15 million so you're factually incorrect. The Christians be out there slaughtering more over the centuries!

That being said, all religion can F off as they're all cause more problems then good.

        • I'm an equal opportunity hater, so yes they all can, but its nice to bring up the one no one will speak about due to fear.
But more recently that group globally has been far more active in its activities of harm than others.

          • @91rs: You mean the actual only one people won't speak about…the Zionists?

I don't follow Kanye at all but is the reason he is labelled a Nazi actually because he is antizionist or because he's actually a Nazi? Cos the former seems much more common than the latter these days

            • @Jackson: Add them to the list too, media is real quiet about all the bombing that Israel is getting done while the West freaks out about oil prices.
Almost like we've all been led in to a trap so they can do side quests.

        • Hey since we are asking AI, here is the response I got after asking "how many have been killed under Atheism"
"Historians estimate that between 60 million and 100 million people died under these regimes." So sounds like atheist states cause more deaths than religious ones. Don't see what this has to do with Kanye though

          • @BonitaBrian: Really? Atheists killed in name of no god? Wow news to me…

Or are you strawmanning hard and just referring to any time someone died from an Atheist? Because that's an entire different stat all together buddy boy… And I think the religious would still be winning… Awkies.

      • What's interesting is the brotherly love between Islam and Catholicism through Mary. There are Latin rite churches in Melbourne that simply can't fit new members anymore just as there are mosques full to bursting with righteous youths.

    • Also Important to note that his "apology" and all media followup have all come in written form and were very likely just written by his PR team so as to minimise the impact of his Nazi tendencies on his latest album and tours.

He's never publicly acknowledged wrongdoing or apologised for it in person, so there is a real possibility he's never renounced those beliefs, only hidden them so he can make money first.

    • Truth hurts ey? Ah well, someone has to expose them eventually, can't forever pull strings from the shadows.

    • Feel like leaning into Christianity is a license to get away with whatever you want, the stuff that'd get anyone else cancelled. Case in point, Trump leans into the Christianity stuff when the Strait of Hormuz stuff starts getting out of hand, comparing himself to Jesus to appease his Christian base.

  • Great album, but i'd be embarrassed to have a kanye album at home

      • This should clearly be a ragebait.

      • what music do you like

    • Embarrassed? You must have crappy friends.

      • His albums have a few good bangers at the time, but they don't age well overall. Mercy still slaps though.

  • Love this album

    • This is wild, maybe we need a quarterly kanye ozbargain post to bring the nazis out.

It's a shame what became of Kanye, even while some of his older albums are goated, an apology is not enough to just forget about it all

        • What truth did he tell? [2]

            • @Damonator84: No, you want to call him a truth teller, I'm asking what he's said that's true. All I've heard of him in my research, including directly in reference to your own comment below, is that he has a weird affinity for Hitler…so, is being pro Hitler a truth now?

What truth did he tell? [3]

            • @Damonator84: Yeah but we want to hear it from you, what truth did he tell?

            • @Damonator84: The old "do your own research". Means you know nothing.

            • @Damonator84:

              do your own research.

QAnon is so last decade man…

              • @RnR: I need to start screenshotting comments so I can post them for posterity after they get removed, because troll or no, old mate was literally saying Hitler was right numerous times. Verbatim.

Edit: Not you, I mean Damonator or whatever his name was. The dude with the removed comments.

        • Damonator please specify what truth he told? Also please define "woke BS" I'd love to hear your take :)

      • "goated" are you 11?

        • Oh buddy I promise my use of the word goated is far from the biggest problem in this thread

    • I hate to say it but turns out, Sway did have the answers.

    • He was telling the truth. (profanity) the woke BS.

      Need a copy?

      https://i.imgur.com/JLXyHK8.png

    • He was. But he also admitted that he was a cuck and sucked his cousin's dick.

  • grabs popcorn

  • Don't understand how people can bring themselves to go to his concerts.

    • Jokes aside, he's a weird unit, but if you like someone's music, you're not automatically obligated to perform background research on them. As a kid, let me tell you, I didn't know a goddamn thing about anyone I listened to. You should have seen the surprise in my face the first time I saw what Motley Crue looked like after listening to them for years.

      • The cross section of people who don't know about his antics and go to his concert would be infinitesimal.

        • Many people also just don't care

    • If Hitler's art wasn't shit it would be regarded as good art..

      • If my grandmother had wheels she would have been a bike

      • Pollock flicked a paint covered stick onto a piece of canvas and that's apparently regarded as good art.

  • Thanks grabbed one (Will be sure to drive around with this on blast in my car seeing as everyone loves Kanye)

    • Now your car will go harder, better, faster, and stronger

      • I'll stick to Daft Punk

  • NHH represent!

    • I had to Google just to check I wasn't assuming what the HH meant, but nope, I was right. Ick.

  • The GOAT

    • I liked Kanye as much as anyone, but GOAT? Production maybe as he was ridiculously influential, as a rapper? Nah.

    • Ozbargain is reddit lite.

    • You know…if you post a silly comment like "Getting downvotes for being different, classic.", but then, nobody bites because the obvious troll is obvious…it's embarrassing to clap back a few minutes later when no one's biting still…

  • kanyes been replaced yo

  • Cool, he put up an apology and now everything is better huh? And we believe he has changed huh?

The guy is a trash human and buying his records supports him.

    • “Swear I should be locked up for stupid shit that I did / But I'm a champion, so I turned tragedy to triumph / Make music that's fire, spit my soul through the wire”.

    • Seems a bit of a harsh judgement. The guy seems quite mentally unwell; not all there.

      • As someone that suffers with mental health issues, using that as a reason for doing and saying horrible things is a shit excuse and makes it harder for the rest of us who have issues and don't put out songs glorifying antisemitism.

Until he has done something to actually show he has changed, other than a halfassed apology, maybe then I might change my mind.

        • Is there only one type of mental illness and only one type of response to it? If not, your experience is irrelevant.

          • @Ghaowudjy: That might actually be the worst comment on this entire thread. What an awful take.
