    legibility final boss

    • It's a busy dial, but the anti-reflective coating makes it disappear so the numerals and indices really pop. Great blue lume too.

No, the Final Boss of dial busy-ness belongs to the Citizen Promaster Geotrekker BY3006-53H. Jody at JOMW featured it in a recent video and counted the markers - all 802 of them!

  • I bought the Blue Angels version from this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/560530

This one is tempting but I don't think it looks as good, they are great watches though.

Had this watch over last few years. Fantastic thing ! I abused the crap out of it for years and it just ticked along. only managed to mess up after repeated sauna use for years which then lead to moisture trapped inside. Lasted 7 years.
    I recommend it.

you should have any watch you're taking into water (or a sauna) pressure tested annually, any decent watchmaker has a pressure testing machine and should do it for a small fee, mine does it for about $20.

could have saved the watch. the gaskets do not last forever and are designed to be replaced.

Thank you wise sir, now I know.

Love it, great watch. I bought one and returned it a couple months ago because it was bit big for my liking. 42.3mm doesn't sound huge but because of the large face it looks far bigger than comparably sized watches I wear (skx007, flightmaster, aquis). Great though for those after a moderate sized aviation watch 👌🏼

I get what you're saying but the Seiko SKX007 is 42mm so technically it's the same size.

Maybe you just prefer dive watches like me.

Can’t believe they still sell these. I’ve had one for so long the battery has long since died.

One under-appreciated feature of these is they have a jumping hour GMT (“true GMT”), which is rare even in quartz watches. Makes for a great cross-timezone travel watch.

Perfect watch for someone who likes the busyness of something like a Navitimer but has an eco-drive budget.

    • How long have you had it? Are you sure the battery has died? Might just need to be left in some sunlight for a while.

I never store my Eco=Drive away in the dark.

    • I thought the battery of these never die?

I've wanted one of these for a long time…

I remember when these things were on Massdrop back when they were still a group buy website

  • So busy , no one uses the slide rules or conversions, what's the appeal? Is it just the price?
