Wow, prices have gone up by a lot… I got my 300GB 12 months Voda prepaid for $199 last year.

And you're using too many emojis OP, I'm getting too old and it's hurting my eyes…

    • tbf they are throwing in a 28 day sim w/ 300gb

but yeah i mean this is kinda normal… i think telstra came in first with a fuel levy (!!!) and so its the wild west… jack sparrow says take it all and leave nothing behind

      • What Telstra fuel levy?

    • I got mine for 150 :)

… is the Ozb amount to pay for 300gb Voda
    ($139)

    • Yep, that was the deal I pulled the trigger on. Just keep in mind you need to activate within 30 days of ordering to get cashback.

For that price the Lebara SIM isn't actually free. OzB members aren't dumb.

    Description needs more tick emojis.

    • Some people just want to watch my eyes burn 😬

  • Better deal is direct from lebara if im not mistaken.

    https://www.lebara.com.au/prepaid-plans/365-day/

    $300 for 425GB.

With a second free esim, you can data gift 10GB per month, meaning you end up (over a year) with:
    Sim1: 305GB
    Sim2: 120GB
And both then last a year, not 30 days.

So unless you need 100GB in one 30 day chunk, this wouldn't be my choice.

    • does the Lebara use vodafone network? thanks

        Yes.

I have this. Vodefone sucks. Cant mms other never recieved. Blackspots. No calls. No txts in blackspots. No message recieved

    • Agreed, always test out Vodafone's level of connectivity and reception in your area before committing to a year long plan.

I got the same on Telstra and Optus :)

    • You do need to activate it.

      • boog troll

      I find the opposite.
I have a 2 year old Samsung Galaxy A-something from my employer with a Telstra SIM - It has the least reliable reception, AND it's a 'Blue Tick' phone, so should be the best.
On Screen it never loses reception, but if I'm streaming radio (which I do for 16+ hours a day) its the one that drops the connection most often.

I was previously with Optus on my Motorolla Edge; which is slightly more reliable. But the move to Voda has made zero impact to the coverage (now that Optus and Voda tower share) but given HUGE gains to my data speeds, thanks to vodas larger chunk of the 4/5G spectrum.

As people have said, it's probably the location, I travel the NSW/QLD coastline - Coffs harbour to Gladstone - So I can only speak for that stretch of Australia, but for me it's been a positive change.

      • interesting.

  • I got an email from Amaysim yesterday that my $8.90 plan is going up to $25 a month. almost a 200% increase!!! I'm looking at 12 month plans now

    • Wow $8.90 was super cheap! You can get Vodafone 200gb for $169 and 30% cashback. Comes down to $119 approximately.

      • Hasn't it expired?

        • It's back!

      • I was on the old Jeenee Mobile $9.90 plan
        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/341936

Bought out by Vaya then Amaysim. Amaya sim took $1 off when and made it $8.90 a month

        • Nice that was a great plan for a light user! Unfortunately I don't think there is anything cheaper than $100-120 (with cashback). Also Ezysim for $109 1 year would suit you.
Or if you don't use any data Amaysim has $60 unlimited calls and SMS for 1 year . (Swap in app).

@fozzie: When I moved to Amaysim they gave 4GB of data. I had two sims on the same plan so 8GB a month. I'm thinking the same as you. A 12 month plan will be the cheapest and best choice

    too expensive, not a deal

  • +1

I'd go Kogan for $199 for 900GB data. Same network on Vodafone

I still have the old $120 60gb 365 days expiry amaysim plan. Its ok of you dont mind the smaller data cap.

    pretty expensive for Vodaphone
