Master Detectives Archives: Raincode at ATL based on dekudeals. Apparently it's been cheaper physical.

Finished it last year and I really loved it. It's very much a SpikeChunSoft game with its over the top presentation. From memory, it was all voiced.

My only criticism is that a chapter in the middle of the game is a bit weak but it picks back up and sticks the landing.

Dungeon/solving case mechanics seem to get criticism online but I really like the methodical way of eliminating the impossible. Taught me more about crime solving than Phoenix Wright Series.

Recommend to play it blind.

Description from publisher:

Yuma, an amnesiac detective-in-training, and Shinigami, the spirit haunting him, tackle unsolved mysteries!
A brand new lucid-noir detective adventure game from the minds behind the Danganronpa series.

Story
Kanai Ward - the city of rain - is gripped by innumerable unsolved mysteries, under the complete control of Amaterasu Corporation.
Master Detectives of the World Detective Organization, a group dedicated to eradicating the world's unsolved mysteries, rise to the challenge of uncovering the truth.
Yuma and Shinigami must work alongside the Master Detectives to solve unsolved cases.

Game Introduction
Progress the story by conducting investigations in the real world, gathering clues needed to solve the case,
then using those clues to conquer the Mystery Labyrinth.
In the Mystery Labyrinth, the goal is to use the evidence collected during an investigation to reach the truth.

Investigation
Take control of Yuma and explore Kanai Ward.
Talk with people in the city, investigate crime scenes and collect Solution Keys that can be used as evidence.

Confront it with the Solution Keys that have been collected.

Fight back in simple yet exciting action sequences, and slash through them with the Solution Blade to reach the truth.

    • Might forfeit remaining eshop credits by switching regions. Something to look out for

      • It doesn't because you need to have an empty balance to even have the option to switch so you have to spend it on something

    • I don't think the JP eshop version has English as the language option though.

      • Oops yeah. That's actually the first game I have seen that myself but I have heard of it. Deleted just in case

  • +1

The Season Pass DLC pack is currently $12 (50% off).
Good if you already got the game on the Switch (physical or digital).

But if you don't already have the base game and you have a PS5, you're probably better off getting Master Detective Archives: RAIN CODE Plus for $42.47, since the "Plus" version includes the Season Pass DLC.

Or wait for RAIN CODE Plus to drop down to $35.18 again on Steam.
