I don't know this model personally but I have used one of their hiking tents. Great value

Any recommendations for reasonably priced hiking tents that fit 2?

        • Seems like they're $230 or so. Cheaper options from Anaconda - $179 but surely something cheaper elsewhere right?

      • Anyone know much about this? Seems very cheap

        • It would be classified as a "very" entry-level hiking tent. To answer your questions more thoroughly, what do you want out of a hiking tent? How many days are you hiking? How many people is it for? etc

          • @equinoxxx: A lightweight tent to be used for 1-2 nights max for 2 people. Want it to be easy to carry and set up and handle wet weather without water or moisture seeping inside.

            • @SaveTheManuals: If your new to overnight hiking, perhaps a Mongar or a star river if yourinto Naturehike. Also depends on if your hiking in winter or summer, in QLD or TAS. If its cold and going to hit cold temps you might want a 4 season tent. In most cases 3 season will do most places of aus unless at Altitude. I hike in summer and most times dont bother with the fly at all. I run Marmot tents personally but the NH ones do seem good value.

      • I got one of the Mongar models, not sure which

    This is a glamping tent.

So long as there is no wind and rain and the temperature is between 18-30 this will be fine 🤣

Mind you I have been surprised that even after 3 years the $50 Weisshorn 4person tent that I regularly use is still holding up so ymmv on these. The instant pop up on this makes life much easier.

      • Why rain is not okay for this?

It was a bit of sarcasm - these cheap tents end up in landfill quickly. There is no separate fly sheet that goes over the top to overlap the tent. You are relying on the rather flimsy one piece keeping all the water out. If you have a tarp over the top no issues but added expense. You get what you pay for most of the time with tents.

  • Thanks!
    In time for Coachella! LoL

  • Any good cheapo 1 person tents? I want to get a nice UL tent but wanna test run with something cheaper see if I like solo camping first lol

Go to kmart. Also if a tent says for example 8 persons, its max 4 persons. So always half the number. A two person tent is for one person plus your bag, etc.

I was very into ultralight about 10 years ago, I have a double rainbow, but if I was buying today id get a naturhike. Their mats also seem good, the inflation bags are great, but I didn't have the luxury of portable pumps in my day so maybe this doesn't matter as much anymore.

I have the Naturehike Cloudup hiking tent and it’s very good for the price. This one looks like landfill.
