Nice! I was after a solution for charging 3 phones and 3 EVs at the same time ;)

      It won't Click for you!

That’s really not the best idea…

..the charging speeds on two of those phones would be horrible..

      • Thats why you leave them out in the middle of the backyard. Added bonus of not worrying about overheating or fire hazards with dodgy powerbanks etc

You joke, but this sort of thing does concern me a bit, people buying EVs but then cheaping out on the charging cables/sockets.

Even using a granny charging at 2000w, I'd be inclined to have an electrician wire in a quality power socket and if you need an extension lead, buy a quality caravan one, not the cheapest Bunnings/Kmart one. Could be a good idea if your house is say 20 years old and the GPOs are looking a bit worse for wear, might not be wise to have a constant 2000w running through them. Cheap insurance IMO.

Poor quality sockets or leads could lead to poor connections, overheating and fires. The EV will be blamed for the fire rather than the cheap cable.

        Why does it concern you?

        • +3

Because EVs are becoming more popular (I have nothing against them), and people become cheap when it comes to the chargers/cables. A granny charger will pull the sort of current a fan heater does - around 10A.

In the past we had people plugging in fan heaters into cheap extension leads and causing melting/fires, no different to having an EV charging overnight using a cheap cable or extension lead, or dodgy old power socket.

If you are charging an EV, the main thing you want is a 1.5mm cord.

The cord in the picture is 1.0mm so completely unsuitable for sustained high loads.

      • Can you buy a caravan extension lead with a 10A plug and socket?

      • I thought / understood that the wall socket inside a house can only supply up to 10 amps. This power board has 3 x 10a sockets, but it can still only draw up to 10a total from the wall socket, not 30a. EV's charged from a wall socket can only draw up to 10 amps; so using this shouldn't be a problem; just a slow charge. The article discussing cables and ev's is for home installed ev charging station, not the normal household socket. I assume they have unique plugs that won't accept a normal 10a household extension lead so that people can't make the mistake of plugging a 10a extension lead into a high amp outlet.

        • Whilst all that should be true in theory, I wouldn't be comfortable having a constant 10A load going through a cheap shitty power board.

    • I’d charge the phones on the wireless chargers in the EV’s while they are charging.

  • Looks like i found the best power board for my garage, for any general usage

  • Looks pretty good to me. Thanks OP!

I bought one of these for the shed - had a combination of points that I needed and a decent extension length.
The wall hanging kit is not very secure - more just a hook that it hangs on so you need 2 hands to pull out a plug. There are no other mounting holes for secure attachment either from memory.

  • Is this the normal price?

Don't need it but wanna buy it just for fun

  • Nice mate

Got two for the garage, and already mounted. As above the mount isn't great but still does a good job for what I need. Worth $15 easily.

  • Can this be used outdoor covered?

Not cheap per plug but 10m cable is long. Sad with no free delivery.

Is click reliable in terms of quality? Have heard of issues in past?

    • Actually, Click brand usually considered bottom of the barrel and very shit quality.
Not sure why this deal is so popular

      • We are tight. Cheap is good.
