    Price in title plz

    • +5

Couldn't fit any more words in title, but have edited it to remove punctuation to allow for it.

  • +31

    Must be selling so well.

    • lol

    • +12

I'm a LEGO tragic, but even I couldn't rationalise the cost of this set.

      • +21

Materiel costs $50, Poke licensing cost $950….

        • Dude, gets your facts straight. The licensing cost is cheaper than that.

          It's clearly $949 licensing.

    • +14

The scale is so bad. Venusaur is much bigger than the others.
And I expect a lot more detail at $1000.
      This set sucks.

    • +1

Yeah I am pretty sure it's not the best time to drop, if they dropped this during COVID, it would have been like printing money for them. Cost of Living isn't going to help. I collect LEGO and I use to "invest" if that's even considere d aword, but more like flipping back many years ago. But I sold off basically most of mine, and I have like a handful left and it's not easy to sell in this market.

    • +1

The only part of the set that looked nice was the gym badges that came with the pre-orders directly from lego and I think thats the only reason the first batch sold out. The actual Legos looked pretty average. especially Pikachu.

  • +7

    that is one fugly pika

    • I know. They did a much better job with Eevee (which should've been added into this bundle, then it's actually a half-decent deal).

  • $83 delivery…

  • +4

Lego thinks my wages are beating inflation

  • +3

Where do people put all their Lego displays

    • +2

in hermetically sealed vaults, waiting for the legopocalypse when the world runs short on lego and their investment is truly realised

      • It's already happened my $49 tie fighter pilot helmet is already worth $500+

        • -1

          Rare exception.

          • +1

@DevGuy: Not really Voltron Ideas also worth $700+ got that one too

            • @4foxache: Another exception. I have that too. Most sents don't appreciate like the TIE helmet or Voltron. Don't neg me because you don't like my facts.

              • @DevGuy: Got the ECTO-1 ghostbuster car as well bought that for $209 now worth over $500+

And to me its a moot point… you're basically saying not all shares go up. Correct

                Btw not my neg

                • @4foxache: I'm not saying "not all shares go up", that's a strawman. I'm saying that the TIE helmet's insane growth is an outlier and not indicative of the mean.

            • +1

@4foxache: I love my Voltron set - it is so cool (and way bigger than Optimus Prime). Would never sell it though..

          • @DevGuy: Gt3 also went up a bit. From around $320 the bigw eBay deal to about $1600 now

  • +24

I just bought one and coupert popped up suggested using a code - ALQUEMIELEGODISC2025LEGO which brought the cost down significantly.
Also chose pickup to avoid the delivery cost of $25 as it can be picked up from a Lego Retail store.

    • Now THAT makes it more interesting… (still resisting temptation)

      • +2

If it was the Kanto region badges and this set for $800, yeah I'd bite and resell this set for $700

    • MVP.

Price is good but I'm still on the fence - some of the characters don't translate well to Lego.

    • so $800 for just the big one?

      • +1

$800 for the big set plus the Pikachu set as a freebie

        • +3

How? the code does not allow me to purchase a bundle.

    • +1

thanks. its a 20%off flat and no bundles and no e-gift card orders.

      bought titanic sets.

    • thank you mate, $800 for 2 sets

    • +2

Ugh, code stopped working while I had something in the cart, thanks for posting either way.

    • Lucky you choose the pickup, usually if they found out the code this quick and they would cancel the orders which used the code. Better pick up ASAP

    • +1

      Code no longer work :(

    • Shame they cancelled the code.

    • I keep getting: "Discount not eligible when bundles are in cart"?

    • Got confirmation of ready to pickup started driving to the store. Just before I got to Doncaster to pickup they refunded my order without providing any reasoning

      • Omg… no way

      • +1

What a disgrace. They should honour it, it isn't like some crazy price error where you're paying an order of magnitude less. It's a decent 20% discount. Big deal.

      • Store Manager at Doncaster succkkksssss.

  • Looks a bit like a bouquet flower arrangement just a lot more expensive
    https://www.lego.com/en-au/product/flower-arrangement-10345

    • It's been that price since it was released in Feb 2025. Its double the size of a normal one…….

  • +2

these really don't translate well to Lego bricks. they look abhorrent

    • It can be done well - and I've seen some nice customs. Just that this design was not it.

  • +3

Lol at the scalpers. I could see it was already not selling for them

    • Because the GWP are selling too well, so scalpers try to offload the big set at lower price.

  • The pre sale sold out, but the amount on FB marketplace says it all really

  • +1

Hard to stomach the price. Even at $600.

  • -6

What’s the yield on these? High?

  • +1

the Pikachu was a disaster, would be more appealing if it was the Eevee add instead, at least that was well done

    • The Pikachu looks a bit weird with the face/mouth positioning. Got nowhere to put this though :(

    • That's why they are "giving" it away.
      lol.

    • It looks better in real life than in pictures, but I still think "might as well have bought the mega blocks branded Pikachu instead"

  • -1

This set has really grown on me. At first I totally wrote it off but after seeing a couple of clips, I'm a big fan. Not a thousand dollars big, but close.

  • +1

Think I'll wait for the Aliex Edition

    • +1

It’s already out for just over $100

Got the UCS Razorcrest for $120 and and it’s kinda crazy how the offical Lego is >$1000

  • +1

Price is a joke. Hit up third party unless you plan to keep this in the box..

  • My mate stayed up until midnight to get the first release of this set to keep as an investment…

  • +3

    Love Lego, Love Pokemon.

But the asking price for this Pokemon set/s can't be justified.

  • +6

Looks like they will wait until you arrive instore to cancel your order if you used the code.
Received an order confirmation and a your order is ready for pickup email.
Arrived in store to be told "were not going to give you that order." No explanations, no nothing "you should get a cancellation email in a few hours"
Got back to the car and the cancel email arrived , suspiciously like the *&^% in store waited to send it until I had left the store
I apologise for sharing the code but I thought I was doing a good thing and that they would honour the order as it went through with no issues.

    • Received cancellation email only.

    • +2

Feel bad for you. Next time don't share the code before picking up.

  • +1

Their sets have been extremely expensive lately. Are people seriously still buying legos at these prices omg

    • Blame Lego as they know investment bros will snap these up in a heart beat and resell them regardless of the price. Gone are the days that Lego is an affordable hobby for kids. Tried to get my son a Minecraft Lego set years ago, $2k+ second hand… 3rd party was $110.

      • Yeah but if you look at the flipping market it's not doing well lol. So people can try but the state of the economy isn't helping.

      • You don't need a rare out of print set for your son. Just buy whatever is on the shelf today, Lego are pumping out new sets like there's no tomorrow.

      • I honestly feel like Lego's been targeting my generation hahaha, Star wars, pokemon, one piece… And they must think we are the ones who are willing to pay $1000 for these sets

  • +1

Pokemon should have kept their deal with Megabloks, those ones look so much better

  • sorrywhat?!

  • +2

i swear all the kids toys are just becoming highly infalted due to people scalping. you cant even get pokemon cards for cheap now and its literally a piece of paper

    • -1

It's out of desperation I think. People are looking to make money at every possible opportunity, including scalping kids toys, which is pretty shit if you ask me

  • -1

We have truly reached the end goal of capitalism where cheap af plastic blocks cost $1000. This is trash

  • I returned my pre-order. Not worth it.
