Cook Island Holiday Tips & Recommendations

We're going to the Cook Islands for the first time in early May, staying at Club Raro. Would appreciate any recommendations & tips from OzBargain members for restaurants, things to do etc.

Many thanks in advance.

Don't forget when you book that in the case of the Cook Islands you arrive there the day before you left to go there. So if you fly there on sunday, you have to book accommodation there for saturday night.

    • Thank you.

Love Raro! No real tips, just know that it's cheaper to eat out (highly recommend Charlie's and Shipwreck Hut. We did the cultural dinner/show at Te Vara Nui which was great. I hated the Needle hike, but hubby loved it. We did a day trip tour out to Aitutaki - gorgeous! We also did a nighttime light-up SUP tour. You can kayak instead of using a SUP if that's more your thing (I did, and it was more fun watching everyone else falling off their boards!). We've been many times now, so just spend our days chilling, snorkelling (wear reef shoes!!!) and kayaking. It's become a second home for us - an incredible place. :)

    • Thanks very much, ChocStrawberries for the helpful info. Have a lovely day :)

It's cheap to get there on a narco sub. The return trip may be a bit tricky.
