I know right, you could BBQ a steak on my TCL C7K, even with the brightness turned right down.
I was always hesitant to buy TCL, now after buying it, I’m definitely NOT buying one again.
Screen flicker, weird blacks and greys, excessive heat, horrible interface, shuts down watching Prime and Apple TV, useless multivision.
Samsung was much better, but just worked, easy access to everything whether console, USB, Apple TV, miss my Samsung, just not their useless customer service.

Just on the UI, TCL uses Android whereas Samsung use their proprietary OS. Android is always improving and driven by Google. Hard to understand that Android does not provide the 'easy access to everything'.

I have TCL QLED 75 inch 2025 and I find the GUI awkward at best and the PIP (equivalent, they call it Multivision) is difficult to invoke …. and iffy when it runs. I complained to TCL but they couldn't fix it. My 15 year old Samsung Plasma (that died) was waaaaay better .. I'd check the TCL functionally in the shop before I bought one ..

@ReaperX22: C8 & C9 is the range, C9 exists in other countries, but not in Australia, it's not brought here. K is the 2025 model year, L is the 2026 model.
The models being replaced this year are C6K -> C6K Pro, C7K -> C7L, C8K -> C8L, X11K -> X11L.

Basically, hasn’t Sony’s Bravia brand been spun off into it’s own independent entity, ie Bravia products will no longer be sold as “Sony Bravia” but just “Bravia”, of which TCL own 51% and Sony own 49% ?

From what I have read the company is called "Bravia Inc", but the TVs will still be branded Sony Bravia. They would be insane to drop Sony from the brand .

I got this in last years perks sale in december for $1795 delivered. Looks amazing after doing some calibration.
Using it daily with Stremio and the automatic HDR10 or Dolby Vision is great- 0

I think when most consumers refer to calibrate, they just mean adjusting colour settings and modes, brightness, contrast, etc to best suit their needs or content.
Most people won't have dedicated calibration devices.
There's usually a number of settings people will typically update or configure. Can likely find from rtings or reddit etc. Can use that as a basis then set your own.
Typically you'll want the movie or film mode (usually most colour accurate by default)
Smoothing and fancy AI features off / sometimes noise reduction settings etc
Anything that says 'enhancer' is usually moving the colour space away from natural but this may not be universally trueEven with the above, just set it to your preference. I tend to set it fairly 'flat' or as accurate to what I consider 'natural' but I still allow Samsung's contrast enhancer to be on 'low' for a bit more pop just because I prefer that even if it's not strictly the most accurate!
