Good price on this ssd for its specs. pcie 4, has dram, 1200 TBW.
This price looks to be similar to the price it was before ssd price hikes last year https://www.pgrid.app/au/ssds/samsung-990-pro-2000gb

CamelCamelCamel.data loss?
if your talking about the write life cycle degradation that was causing them to lose cells 1000% faster then normal.
Yes they have fixed that years ago with a firmware update.
I have a 990 Pro 1TB and its at 99% life remaining on its write lifespan.
When did you purchase it? Asking because I have the 980 and Im tempted with this deal.
Edit: nvm I can see it was a pricing error. To good to be true.
2 years ago and the first thing i did was update the firmware after installing windows but the firmware that it came with already had the fix.
6 months ago the going price for this drive was around $220
@vid_ghost: Yes I remember. Also the people that are quick to point out the "issues" have likely never owned it. They are just parroting previous comments or reviews.
@AEKaBeer: Thanks. you too AEKaBeer …I'm still working as an IT Admin and i also still sell stuff on OCAU in the for sale section. :) Just not posting much in the general forums anymore.
Urgh. Checked mine and it's at 87%. I'll have to update firmware asap, would this be grounds for an RMA despite the drive still working?
at 87% probably not worth your time and unlikely they will replace it. (but do update your firmware)… from my experience SSD drive's fail long before the nand flash lifespan gets exhausted.
@vid_ghost: Surprised I somehow missed this. My other Samsung NVME drives from 2018 are still at 98-99% health. Suppose I'll likely replace the 990 Pro as my OS drive well before it dies and relegate it to a games SSD.
Gone. Probably a price error
Gone
Keep an eye on it or 3camel it.
They occasionally drop to these prices every now and again for a few units. I got the 4TB version for $500 a few days from Amazon Germany and I think there was about 4 available that went real quick(got very lucky that I saw it).
The price is legit, mine has been shipped and is on its way.
Also keep an eye out on the 990 EVO Plus as well. It drops down every now and again for a short time and small unit availability. They had the 4TB for $415 about 3 weeks ago which I unfortunately missed.
This was $200 a while ago and people still complained
damn, i actually need this :(
For a second I thought I was dreaming
Price error?
Bugger.. Back to my 5 1/4" floppies…
5.25"? Luxury! Back in my day we used 8 inch!
Commodore 64 Winter games with tape loader. Each event required a new load. Genuinely great fun to be honest.
Ahhh! The good old days.
I started my journey with a Vic-20 > C64 then Amiga 500
@gilmour: Never had experience with Vic 20, but some of my mates had the Sinclair Spectrum (I remember those rubber membrane keys). I did get the Amiga after the C64. Again I had a friend who bought the Atari ST. Loved my Amiga (I think it was the 500 with 3.5 inch floppy on the right side.)
confirmed pirce error. paid less 489 for 4tb last month from samsung australia at clearance price. I don't think you will get that price ever again for another year minimum as Google needs AI hardware badly
RIP. Although prices do seem to be dropping over the last week.
Minus inflation the price is actually $264.31
We live in a world now where it's better to not buy anything than to conform to this sick twisted greed people call "normal"
remember when there used to be 4tb and 8tb drives
Great find! Some cracking deals on amazon lately
Mine got delivered yesterday.
Has Samsung fixed the data loss bug on these from when the 9xx came out?
