Is there anyone out there drinking 150ml coffees from a French press? Lol

    • +1

Nope, but I sure as hell will be using the plunger as a cup for my pint of black coffee 💅

      • -1

Not a bad price for a cup, though @rumblytangara comment below re breakage reports shattered my illusion of a deal

    • Sure are, French press works well for cheap good coffee.

IMHO the IKEA UPPHETTA is much better at $9/10, excellent SS filter.

    • +1

SS filter? Does that mean X is now Twitter again?

      • Why are folks negging this very witty gag?

        • +2

I thought the same and I'm not trying to make a political statement lol

        • +2

Because they are humourless keyboard tw@ts

UPPHETTA now has plastic under the steel mesh while this doesnt appear to have it. I know as I saw it instore last week and ended up getting the ikea365 plunger.

Take a look at the white UPPHETTA on the website and you'll see the plastic bit

      Moka pot goated

      • Yeah, i wouldn't feed it to my goat.

I always get small pieces of coffee in my cup when I use these. Are you supposed to add a filter as well?

    • Not sure about pieces, how are your beans ground?

It's normal for particles in the bottom of your cup for french press. Like tea leaves you learn to not drain the cup.

This thing gets some remarkably and consistently bad reviews about glass breakage.

Avanti brand - just check for industrial oil/grease on everything they make. Steer clear. I have literally wiped machine oil off a food handling product that can't easily be seen.

  • Filter paper and drip cup are affordable

    • I'm not sure why you got downvoted.

Clever Coffee Cupper and some Hario filter papers make an excellent cup.

As does the Hario V60 Immersion Dripper. Hario pour over is a bit more fiddly.

        It's 40 dollars… Without the papers…

        • Plus 'needing' a goose neck kettle etc.

  • +3

Just get a Bodum and be done with it already. Also, those grounds in your cupboard… they belong in the bin.

Took the plunge and ordered one…

      that's grounds for an upvote

      • The upvote police have arrived.

        • +2

@daabido person who doesn't get the puns or person who still uses "the […] police have arrived"

try being only one of those today

          • +3

@MattyD: don't mind him, he's just brewing discontent

  • +1

Cheaper than what most op shops sell them for too.

  • Bodum is best I have 2. this could be ok, cheapies def not - they break.

  • good price

  • Arrived today, already used it, brewed for 4mins then filtered it though, amazing drink!

Small amount of grounds made it through in the end product but for the money I'm not complaining!
