Amazon Resale Apple Watch SE Gen3 - Did I Get a Bargain?

I bought an Apple Watch SE gen 3 GPS off of Amazon Resale (sold by Amazon) and paid just over $254. It stated condition was USED-AS NEW. (In my bargain hunting brain, I thought buy first, ask questions later). I made the purchase, then condition changed to MINT. It’s arrived and it does look in excellent condition. I looked up the serial number that’s on the box and Apple says device has not been activated yet. Which I assume means that it hasn’t ever been set up.

I’m hoping to convince my hubby that it was a deal too good to miss. I bought it without telling him, with the intention that if it wasn’t in good condition I’d return it and he’d be none the wiser. Did I get a bargain?

Sounds like you're scared of your husband. Are you ok?

@MSpaint I’m fine thanks for your concern. He gets a bit snarky because he thinks I’m on my phone all the time. What he doesn’t seem to realise is EVERYTHING is done online these days. Things for kids school, shopping online is where the best deals are, insurance etc He doesn’t mind me being on my phone when I get him the best deals on beer though 🙄

I’ve been thinking about Apple Watch as I think work might be cracking down on phones at desk soon. It takes one person to ruin it all for everyone else

You can also mention to him that the Apple Watch genuinely helps many people with their health tracking and fitness goals!

Yes, there is that because I could definitely do with being a bit healthier

      Does username check out?

Ha ha I just remembered what my username is. I’m usually a lurker and only comment when something gets me fired up. I’ve only ever posted one deal because I’m not the most tech savvy person so by the time I post something it’s probably sold out.

      op should contact 1300 respect

      • I’m good, thanks for your concern. He’d cut off his right arm before he hurt me even though abuse can happen in different ways.

Not the answer you’re after but this is concerning without context as to why you’d have to do something like this

    • Sometimes easier to avoid confrontation but don’t worry I can give as good as I get but a few weeks back, my 10 year old was in bed and I was saying goodnight and I can’t remember what it was about but he said something along the lines of great now you’re going to get a divorce. Now this could just be him listening to other kids at school but it’s something I’m a little more mindful of and think I should pick my battles. So if the watch was trashed why bother telling him, starting an argument (because hey we’re not made of money - is it an item we really need) when I’d be returning it anyway.

$269 40mm in Apple’s Refurb Store; I’d pay $15 more for the superior provenance but mint from Amazon isn’t too shabby

    • Thanks for the feedback

    You did O K…
It was possibly a brand new item with a slightly blemished box. I have bought a few items like that.

    • 🤭 thanks. I remember reading that Apple products are never discounted by much when they are new because Apple doesn’t allow it (like Bosch , Smeg, Miele etc) so I thought over $100 off for what could be a virtually new watch was something to jump on. Do I REALLY need it? Probably not, until work does enforce a no phone at desk rule and then (Murphy’s law) I probably won’t be able to find one at this price in this condition again.

    Did I get a bargain?

    No

Can get an Amazon return pallet for that much ;)

      • I’ve heard of these but not seen how to purchase one and probably too much of a risk for me anyways. I’d be stuck with stuff of no use and unable to sell but won’t part with because I hate throwing things out

I used to pay $200 each, but the supplier in AU got greedy (thanks TikTok) and charges up to $1000 each. Usually those ones you're getting like a 20% discount on Amazon RRP and not worth it.

    • 😂 care to elaborate? 😆
