    Not much, I'll wager. Considering they don't specify ingredients, or even suggest any particular type of fuel. Diesel? Petrol? Kerosesne?

    50% bovine excrement?

    The biggest problem with petrol aging is if you are unfortunate enough to have ethanol in your fuel, as that is hygroscopic. Keeping it in an airtight container, e.g. jerry can, will solve that in the medium term. But petrol is not meant to be stored more than a few months.

    If you have a car that is rarely used, don't put fuel containing ethanol into it. In some states, that may mean getting the "premium" fuel.

    Well petrol does oxidise and can form gums which are bad news for carburetors and possibly block fuel injectors if left for a long time such as 6 months plus.
    I would only ever use a brand that has been tested and reviewed over many years such as Sta-Bil though.

      Legit question, has that ever happened to you?
      I've read about this too, but a chainsaw u haven't used for three years starts up, and I've had a jerry of unleaded for longer.

      I suspect it might be more of an issue in cold climates in the northern hemisphere.

        The only carby failures I have had are a gummed Stromberg on a Triumph and once on a 2 stroke whipper snipper but it's hard to say the actual causes.
        I have replaced plenty of fuel filters though and I think the goop ends up there a lot of the time
