  • Any giftcards options for nick scali? I can't find anything by searching.

  • Currently set-up to get Qantas points from Everyday Rewards, but I am after 10% discount on Deluxe cards. Should I opt out of Qantas points before I grab the GCs?

    • -1

Huh doesn't it convert from ER points to Qantas? It's not automatically into Qantas points is it?

      • If you've setup and linked QFF then it is. If you haven't it's not.

    • If you want the ER Points to convert to shopping credits then yeah, obviously.

      It's not a 10% discount though, you're getting a 10% bonus so it equates to a 9.1% discount essentially.

  • yes get the discount instead opt out of qantas

  • For Netflix discounts, is 10% really the best it gets?

    • Yeah, pretty much.

  • -3

What are we doing with Restaurant GCs now eatclub have killed the party? I wonder how much their revenue will go down with the new 3DS auth…

    • Can you elaborate more on this? What's the deal with eatclub?

        • It seems like this restriction is more targeted than being a system wide issue. Based on feedback I got from another forum, it seems like others are still able to add gift cards, but I'm not. So, it might be on an account by account basis.

    • Still plenty of use for it- you can use in store per normal?

  • +1

Been waiting on Netflix 10% off.

    This is good news!

  • Does anyone know if I use gift cards to buy iPhone 17 via jb hifi - can I still claim GST at TRS?

    • +1

Yes as long as they show GST on receipt it's ok

      • Brilliant. Not sure if you would know but any idea how difficult is it to get JB hi-fi to generate an invoice in your name for TRS purposes?

        • +1

Normally it's like that, no need to emphasise. You could confirm with them before ordering.

        • +1

I think I have seen signage at JB registers advising that you need to tell them you want to add your personal details to the invoice before the transaction is paid/finalised as it cannot be done after the fact.

As an iPhone 17 will be over $1000 consider this from the TRS claim guidelines:

get a valid paper tax invoice in English including:
your name only, as it appears on your passport, if the invoice is AUD1,000 or more

          • @daanish: Perfect. Any idea if there is a limit as to the maximum number of gift cards one can use in a single transaction at JB? Might need to summon thy @WookieMonster for clarity on this one.

  • +1

For $50 and $100 TCN Restaurant and $20-500 TCN Deluxe, a limit of two per day
For all other gift cards, a limit of ten per day

Does that mean i can get TCN $100 Restaurant x 2 and still get 5 x Netflix and 5 x TCN Her per day?

  • -2

    is this in store only?

    • +1

      Yes.

      • The deal title already mentions this is in-store only.

      • I just added in the deal terms and conditions from the upcoming Woolworths catalogue (which is advertising this deal). The second sentence mentions it is in-store only at Woolworths supermarkets and selected Woolworths Metro stores.

  • -1

Is there any stock available as of today at the Woolies stores?

  • Anyone had issues converting the restaurant card into digital card? It shows up on the app but can’t add to wallet and error occurred retrieving card details.

  • Anyone not have the bonus points show up?

    • I bought one TCN Restaurant gift card on Wednesday and the bonus points were credited to my account immediately after purchase.

Did you exceed the daily purchase limits for this deal?

      • Actually I know why. Bought the wrong ones unfortunately with both labelled as "Her", except this is "The Ultimate Gift for Her"

    • Yep, had to contact customer service to get the points manually credited.

  • I was wondering how safe is TCN physical card these days. I know about half year ago there was a wide spread video about how poorly protected TCN cards sold in coles and wollies are. Recently I need to stash some TCN cards for rebel but am hesitated because of the poor security of the cards. Any advice on recent improvement from TCN?

    • +1

Wouldn't be 100% fail proof unless you buy and spend quickly, but hopefully registering and converting physical to digital cards help a bit?

  • Went to Woolies, but the her card did not have JB on it whereas in the table above it says JB is included. Am I missing something? Cheers

    • +1

The stores printed on the cards change, if a store isn't on the card it doesn't mean it can't be used there. Check their website for the full list of where it is accepted in store and online, which is where that table would have come from.

    • same concern today, anyone used Her card in JB?

      • I would not be concerned. The comment above yours is correct.

If you look at clause 2 of the TCN gift card terms and conditions, it says you can use your TCN Her gift card at the participating retailers shown on the TCN website. There is no mention anywhere in the terms and conditions of the logo needing to appear on the packaging.

Participating retailers are added or removed from TCN gift cards approximately every few weeks, but it can take many months for a physical TCN gift card to go from being manufactured to being purchased at Coles or Woolworths. In other words, by the time a gift card is added to a gift card shelf at Coles or Woolworths, the participating retailers may already be out of date. Additionally, the current design of the packaging means there is limited space for displaying retailer logos, especially for gift cards with 70+ participating retailers.

Also, I have used TCN Her gift cards at JB Hi-Fi (either in-store or via exchange on the TCN website); some of these gift cards did not have the JB Hi-Fi logo on the packaging, and others did.

Your concerns were already addressed in the FAQ linked at the bottom of the deal description too.

If you think about it, this all means that if a retailer's logo appears on the packaging and not on the TCN website, you cannot use your TCN Her gift card at that retailer. Three examples I can of are Tony Bianco, Surfstitch and boohoo.

          Thanks for the clarification

        • +1

thank you, I will have a try today

        • +1

confirm it worked, I registered online then swap to JB gift card without any issue. don't ask woolies staff, they know nothing

          • +1

@AlexTeng: Thanks once again. Confirming that I got 20 cards , and then went to JB hi-fi to buy the iPhone for 1999.
Went smoothly and the girl at the counter said yesterday someone came with 65 cards. Cheers

  • Can we use the pamper card in hair salons?

    • +1

You should be able to, as one of the officially permitted MCCs is Barber and Beauty Shops (7230). The Mastercard definition makes it sound like hair salons belong to this category:

Merchants that provide personal hair care services such as hair cutting, hair styling, hair coloring, and hair extensions. Barber and beauty shops may also perform manicures and pedicures and sell a limited selection of hair care products.

However, you need to remember it depends on the following:

      • Whether the hair salon has their EFTPOS terminals assigned this MCC (or another one eligible on TCN Pamper gift cards).
      • Whether the hair salon chooses to accept TCN Pamper gift cards as a payment method. (If you just tell staff that you want to use a card as a payment method, you should be fine.)
      • +2

Thank you. I waa afraid it limitrd to barbers shop only. Thr hair salon i go to has one.

  • Went to buy some TCN Her cards at my local Woolies and many of $100 TCN Her cards has been peeled / tampered already.

  • Is there anywhere in the TnCs thst exclude $20 Netflix cards from this promo? I just bought $220 worth but only 4000 bonus points have been credited which I assume means the $20 one has not been credited.

I can't see any exclusion on the denomination for Netflix.

    • How many Netflix gift cards did you purchase?

If you purchased 11x $20 Netflix gift cards today, you would only get bonus points on the first ten. The bolded section of the deal terms and conditions says you will only earn bonus points on a maximum of ten gift cards per day.

      • Sorry, I should specify. I bought 4 x $50 and 1 x $20, so 5 cards in total. That's why it looks like only the $50 cards were credited.

I can't find anything saying the $20 cards are not included, so was surprised only 4000 points were tracked.

        • Hmmmm strange.

I also cannot see anything to suggest the $20 denomination may be excluded (other than the fact that the reward points example section in the terms and conditions makes no mention of $20 denominations).

Your best bet is to contact Everyday Rewards and ask them to manually credit the points.
