I believe many of us got it as an Epic Games Christmas freebie, as I already have it in my library too. The game does have mixed opinions, but for free it's definitely worth a try!

@Fergy1987: Surprisingly the game has a trans character and a married lesbian couple in the main storyline. Felt like a fat sack of flue powder was flung at that certain author :)

@miss arrow: Didn't she still name the tranny character SIRona or the like though? Seemed more like a subtle troll by a certain author against her haters, as she proceeded to make even more bank on the product hah.

JK also gets zero money from the game.
Warner Bros has an amazing license deal for Harry Potter. They pay her a lot as an annual fee, but they have all exclusive rights and profits to anything Harry Potter merch. jK kept the core books and characters separate into a little bundle called the Wizarding World.
The game does not use any assets from the Wizarding World. It was deliberately created in a different timeline to side step JK. They didn't need JK permission for anything. WB owns the new characters.
If she was consulted at all it was only to confirm the game doesn't affect the original book characters and no, she does not get a piece of this pie..
The new TV show she negotiated more control, but less money.

Updated checkout for all this weeks freebies. Since Hogwarts is a repeat untick if you already have it (get an error at checkout).
Seems Epic is doing a little refreshing of the site. One of the kids accounts had a different checkout page this time. Black background with the cover images stacked (and hard to see them all). Still gives an error if you have an already owned title in cart. Got the old style on all the other accounts.
