The MAX is not 50kg it is what ever max you can lift 😂

    • So 300kg?

      • 480kg in my case.

Hello Mr muscles. You might need to buy 10 scales to proportion the weight across to check the weight of the internet lies

  • +3

I just use my regular scales, just hop on while holding luggage, then subtract my weight, easy! Probably more accurate than these too.

    • -1

You can also just put your luggage in the scales, no need for maths then!

    • +10

So you pack your regular scale in your luggage and bring it with you on your trip? (Or perhaps you don't buy souvenirs?)

    • +1

Unless you have super-expensive medical grade scales, no. Hook scales are more accurate.

Also your digital bathroom scales lie. Try weigh yourself , pick up half a kg object, and weigh again. You will likely get the same reading.

      • So true, most bathroom scales are dodgy.

For more fun weigh yourself, then yourself plus suitcase, then weigh yourself again. You'll likely find you've gained or lost a few kilograms in one minute!

    • +1

That's fine when you're at home, but not when you're packing for the return journey at your destination. Or even worse, if you're at the airport trying to redistribute excess weight among several suitcases.

These are good scales. For 2.50 great value.
Very convenient while you are on multistop vacations and do bit of shopping in between.
    Great stocking filler too.
If you have one pass freedelivery and long return window

    OOS

    • Location dependent. Shows in stock for me in SA.

  • Better deal than Kogan's 2 for $5, because you don't have to buy two and I've misplaced both.

    • Better deal than Kogan's 2 for $5, because you don't have to buy from Kogan.

      • +1

True. It felt good to rip them off for a whole bunch of $5 items with a much higher RRP and then quit that FIRST program before being charged.

When Kogan first came out, I purchase about 10 things including TVs, phones and tablets. All of them died very quickly, except for the microwave, which is sort of a worry because I still use it and wonder whether its particular malfunction is killing me in some way.

  • I've had these for a couple of years. They're still going just fine.

  • +1

Plenty of stock at Carindale Qld. Different colours as well, if that floats your boat.

    • Just purchased 3 from local Kmart and other colours including pink scan at $9.

  • This is good. There's no travel lock so it does turn on accidentally sometimes

    • +1

I always take one battery out when not weighing, and store it in a battery case.

This way there's absolutely no way the scales can turn on and flatten your batteries.

      • Or just change the direction of one of the batteries so the circuit's not complete. Or put a bit of tissue paper against the cathode.

        • +1

change the direction of one of the batteries

Not a good idea. Some devices will still draw power, and whichever battery has the highest voltage will be charging the other battery.

And some devices have barriers around the battery contacts, to make it impossible to insert a battery backwards. Such devices may not have reverse-battery protection designed into their electronics, and you could damage the device and the battery holder. Many integrated circuits (including power supply chips) have an absolute maximum reverse rating of 300mV, you could easily exceed that if one of your batteries is close to flat.

put a bit of tissue paper against the cathode.

That will work, as by "cathode" you mean the positive contact of the battery (many OzBargainers aren't versed in the terminology). As long as the battery holder's positive contact is smooth and won't pierce the paper.

          • @Russ: My greatest fear with rarely used devices like these are leaky batteries so I never leave them sitting in there.

            • @anonym: If you treat NiMH batteries well (i.e. always use a good smart charger), they'll never leak.

But some devices are badly designed and won't work with NiMH batteries, so if you can, ask permission to try before you buy, and have some moderately-flat NiMH batteries (~1.15V) with you.

  • They have heaps of stock but a different sku and they are priced at $9 for the same looking product

  • Not available for delivery

  • +2

    How much do they weigh?

    • A notable admission from their description I agree, especially if aimed at travellers

  • +1

Ordered 2 through onepass - already shipped. Thanks OP

  • Mine was cancelled ㅠㅠ

  • Thanks OP. Grabbed two and used One Pass

  • +1

for those who missed out, check aliexpress.
$3 in the bundles. Best to get ones that take AAA, not button cells.

  • Mine just got cancelled as well ☹️

  • Got 3 at Rouse Hill. Plenty left
