Please Suggest a Dishwasher - Budget $700

My 10 year old Samsung dishwasher has been leaking from underneath and an error with code LE shows up.

I think it is time to replace. Just wanted some idea what to buy. Budget around $700. The only thing is that I want one that has a cutlery rack and not a basket.

PS- thanks to everyone who replied. I got the Bosch series 6 dishwasher for $1275.

Sounds like you’re after something European then. Big rack, quiet, and less likely to yell at you (you'll just get silence and need to figure out what's wrong yourself). Although they don't age as well.

Are we still talking about Dishwashers? lol

I definately didn’t feel like we were talking about dishwashers, but I wanted to hear more, or offer counselling. Either or. Lol.

      • I was certainly talking about dishwashers and discussing the finer points between the different regions. Other people have crudely derailed this thread into a discussion about relationships and life partners.

I'd reccomend a Bosch, something solid like a series 4. You might be able to pick one up from a reseller on Gumtree, Facebook or eBay.

Power of OZb on overspending lol

      • Yeah. Went to a few shops and all of them suggested Bosch. Also, a few posts on ozbargain about the deal for this and the comments are mostly positive.

Do you have any gift cards for TGG?
          Current offers:

          • 2.5% discounted gift card via Shopback
          • 4.0% discounted gift card via Macquarie Marketplace
    • who are you price beating against?

Initially appliance online… They had it for $1398.

While browsing Facebook, I saw an ad saying $1299 at the good guys. However, on clicking the ad it showed $1499 on the good guys website. I went in store and showed them the ad, they said promo had expired, but decided to honour it and reduced the price even further.

        • nice! enjoy.

  • I've had my sterling dishwasher from aldi for roughly eight years , only issue has been a water inlet fault due to lack of running cleaning agent through the machine .

    • Must have bought too many watches 8 years ago.

Neeeerd , great to hear from you . I only have two watches by the way , one automatic and a digital solar .

  • So much for a budget. My almost 10 year old Omega had to be repaired. Never had a problem with it till this week and $397 to fix.

Almost $400 is a fair chunk of money to bother with fixing a 10 year old dishwasher.

      • And so is $$ for a new dishwasher. If something can be repaired for the first time for less than the cost of a new one, shouldn't people be doing that? I also don't have to pay someone else to disconnect the old one, reconnect the new one, delivery cost etc, so I am still in front cost wise.

How many more years of use is $400 going to buy you? 3 years before something else fails? That's $133/year.

How many years would $700 for a new machine buy you? 9 to 10 years? That's $70/year.

  • EuroMaid, European made and cheaper, my office has it for more then 12 years and my home has it for last 8 years. No complaint yet.

  • I wish you search properly.

this has been discussed many times. Use this link.
