    Expensive soft drink

We're a small business, not Coke or Pepsi

      • -8

And so? What's your point? Does that make you better than them? I would argue the opposite is true.

        • +4

I don't understand the point of people being unkind and making unnecessary comments. The current pricing is at $40 isn't too much more than Pepsi ($39.50) and Coke ($37.50) RRP for 24 cans at major supermarkets.

          • @dndbrewing: You’ve not heard the advice on wrestling with pigs then?

        • +3

This one is lower in energy, has more salts and electrolytes. They are different. It's like trying to compare something like Fever Tree to Schweppes.

This isn’t ozmarketing. Do you think it belongs on a bargain forum?

    • +5

Yes, because we're doing a 2 for 1 deal on our product.

    • +2

Tough crowd today… It is a 2-for-1 deal so I see no problem posting it here.

And for those above comparing to Coke or Pepsi - give these guys a break, this is probably way better drink, and good on them for trying, even as small business starting in soft drinks category has minimal chance of surviving (@OP sorry, that's the reality - you can't distribute in majors chains without selling a kidney, and if you make a deal you'll loose both kidney and money as you can't scale national, unless some PE schemers come with a deal to repack the brand and flog to bigger fools).

Thanks Jef Tino! Definitely ways to scale the product. Got to get it into peoples hands and get them drinking, more we sell better economies of scale and the better we can be on pricing. Our lemonade is lower in sugar and also have the benefits of electrolytes so its not just a straight lemonade replacement. At a glace yes more expensive, but if they read the product description they would see what we are actually offering

Those on OZB look for the cheapest possible. For a proportion of us, like myself, I'm looking for how to be able to drink fizzy drinks like this but not have the effects of pure sugar or pure sweetener. I stopped drinking fizzy drinks since 2013, and lost 10kg in the first 2 years without changing much of the rest of my diet and lifestyle.

Today, my only choices are soda water as I don't want to go for pure sugar-free fizzy drinks. I'm going to give your lemonade a go! But keep in mind that others might not be in a financial position to pay a similar price to an Aldi beer for a lemonade. But that is likely a different type of consumer compared to who you are targeting. For me, I'd pay extra to not give my money to a multinational that is owned by an overseas company or publicly listed. Support the local self-owned manufacturers!

    • Wow that's impressive go you! Our lemonade needs the little bit of sugar for your body to take up the electrolytes. Thanks so much for giving it a go. I really hope you enjoy them! We also have a no sugar Cola with caffeine and l-theanine which helps boost energy but takes away the coffee gitters and a Ginger beer with prebiotic fiber, turmeric extract and black pepper extract to aid digestion and reduce inflammation.

Absolutely understand the state of the economy

Is there anywhere that stocks your product in Victoria (retail shops or bars/reataurants)?

I'd try a can, if there is.

    • Hey @caprimulgus not yet, we're based in Sydney and getting the ball rolling here. If you go to our instagram and reach out we can probably arrange to send you a sample if you're happy to pay some postage

  • Just received mine today. Drinking it, it is closer to a lemon-flavoured electrolyte sparkling water! It is not just a soft drink! I added a drop of yuzu juice to give it a different character and it tastes good! If you have trouble drinking Hydralyte, this could be a good option. It has sodium, potassium, magnesium and calcium in it, you can taste it. It is not just marketing.

    • Glad you got it so quick! Thanks for the kind words, glad you're enjoying it
