  • How do these compare to the AirPods Pro Max 2?

    • +4

      You Green with envy bro?

    • I have AirPods 4 Active Noise Cancellation and those AirPods are definitely better. You can tell that the UGREEN Studio Pro ANC earphones are cancelling the noise but it isn't as powerful as the AirPods I have. It's a value for money thing. I'd personally rather pay $50 for these than $500+ for AirPods Max, but to each their own.

    Are these good for gym

    • +12

I don’t know why anyone would want to wear over-ears at the gym and have your ears bathing in sweat

      • +10

Doubles as an indicator for Do Not Disturb

      • +6

I dont know either but i see people wearing them. I do in ear but they always end up as in floor buds.

        • I've been trying to find a pair in-ears with hooks that also support good ANC but have come up short so far.

      • not everyone sweats.

          Ok Prince Andrew.

I mean, I guess if you just roll into the gym, post some selfies and leave… sure?

@jjcf: there are people with conditions that makes them not sweat or certain ethnicity who are prone to not sweat.

            • @LennyT: Those certain ethnicities always end up sweating when they are exercising hard enough - i.e. what you should be doing at the gym. Sweating is a fundamental human process and there's no ethnicity that doesn't sweat when doing a hard work out. You might be thinking of body odor, which some ethnicities do have much stronger than others.

    • Nuh. Only Beats are good for gym - put them on and everyone thinks you’re cool.

Then you find good reviews like this

      Each to their own.

  • Makes me wonder how they can manufacture and sell these for so cheap when the likes of Bose, Sony and Sennheiser etc sell their headphones for hundreds of dollars. There must be such a huge retail markup. And yet they sell these off Aliexpress for $50.

    • Massive markup. Mass manufacturing is extremely cheap for electronics. You're paying for the brand and the labour spent on fine tuning the products.

I got these last sale. I'm very impressed with them. The noise cancellation isn't that great, being a step down from my Sony XM2 but decent. Sound quality wise they are pretty much on par with the Sony headphones and have USBC which is great. I do have a custom EQ on my phone which helps a bit. The app isn't great when it comes to EQ. Game mode is a bit worse than other headphones I have tried in that there's still a touch of latency with game mode on. This could also be codec dependent. I should try them with my Steamdeck to make sure as I've only tested game mode with my phone so far. I haven't tested the battery life but if they get even half the advertised 80 hours with ANC on then that's great.

Build quality is very nice with metal band and folding cup arms. The padding is super comfy. It's on par with the Sony XM2 I also have.

I did need to leave them to air out over 3 days as they absolutely stunk with a strong chemical smell leftover from manufacturing.

My review: they are good. USB-C charging. Stylish looking for a cheap pair of over-earphones. Buttons can be a bit confusing to get used to at first (Noise Cancellation / Ambient button, On Off button, Volume etc.), but you get used to it. For the price, they are decent but nothing incredible. I prefer my AirPods 4 Active Noise Cancellation but these are about 1/2 as good for 1/5th the price.

  • Thanks for the reviews.
Is there a way to update the firmware in the UgreenAudio app on iphone? (if there is a newer firmware). Can't seem to find the update firmware option
I'm getting a slight latency when watching TV with bluetooth.
Sounds good when connected to iphone and listening to coldplay, kimbra.

Have you tried using game mode to reduce latency?

    • +1

The app should automatically prompt you if there's a firmware update available after you select the headphones in the app. So the headphone must already have the latest firmware since you aren't getting a firmware update prompt.

This is what Google AI says:

"How to Update UGREEN Studio Pro Firmware:Download the App: Ensure you have the latest UGREEN App installed on your smartphone.Connect Headphones: Pair your UGREEN Studio Pro headphones to your phone via Bluetooth.Check for Updates: Open the UGREEN App and select your headphones. The app will usually prompt you if a firmware update is available.Update Process: Follow the in-app instructions. Keep the headphones powered on and near your phone during the update.Bug Fixes: Users have noted that updates are crucial for addressing sound issues, such as distortion or heavy bass overload, with some users requiring a reboot to fix these issues."
