Bottom of the barrel, sketchy brand.
I actually emailed them and asked because the numbers don't add up, you physically can't get 20% elemental magnesium from Magnesium Glycinate:
When it comes to pure magnesium glycinate (with the molecular formula C₄H₈MgN₂O₄) you are correct that by mass the elemental amount of magnesium is approximately 14.1%.
However, the magnesium used in MagZorb Magnesium Glycinate is not pure stoichiometric bisglycinate.
Our product uses a manufacturer-specified Magnesium Glycinate 20% raw material, which is a glycinate-based, buffered magnesium system formulated to provide a higher analytically verified elemental magnesium content. The elemental magnesium level is confirmed by validated analytical testing (ICP-MS) rather than inferred from theoretical molecular weight calculations.
They call it Magnesium Glycinate, but they add cheaper forms of magnesium to it as a way to cheap out on the raw ingredients. Hence it's a scam.
Nature's Own does not cheap out though, their Magnesium Glycinate is pure based on the elemental magnesium ratio.
I wrote a longer comment here explaining the math: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/17296090/redir

This product is probably the real deal and better value 200x 150mg magnesium - $25 - https://www.coles.com.au/product/natures-own-magnesium-glyci…
Each tablet is 1230mg weight , they state each tablet contains 1150mg of Magnesium glycinate. That will give maximum magnesium of 160-165mg magnesium, so the 150mg magnesium per tablet they state checks out. Also I take 3 of these tablets at once at night and don't get the runs

Yep that's the best one, I've been taking it daily for years.
Funnily enough I just posted that as a deal, although from Amazon as they must be price matching, I'll add Coles as alternative store.

Thats quite a lot of magnesium if every day. Keep at eye on your kidneys if doing it long term.

Legend 🙌

And here is me thinking that magzorb was ozb registered as legit.
Thanks for this investigation, will adjust my mag source accordingly.
I fear I have about 2 containers of magzorb to get through first.

It's not inherently a bad product and I certainly wouldn't waste it, just really pisses me off that they market and price themselves as a premium product yet sell you the cheapest most diluted form, it's dishonest business.

I've tried these and they are great quality. I genuinely feel the calming effects which I don't feel as much of with the chemist warehouse options. Not sure how thorough your research is.
Only downside is if I have a couple it can upset my stomach the next day, but this is a common side effect of magnesium.

All forms of magnesium will have the same benefit in that regard, the difference is in side effects like your upset stomach.
Magnesium Glycinate is the gentlest on the stomach, some brands like Vitaceuticals MagZorb cheap out and use Magnesium Oxide as a filler which is worst for your stomach.

@Jolakot: Wow interesting, thank you. I definitely get the most noticeable benefit from magnesium glycinate, but thought the upset stomach was unavoidable. I'll give nature's own a go next time cheers

What are your thoughts on these ones from bulk nutrients? https://www.bulknutrients.com.au/products/magnesium-glycinat…

More expensive and half the size, why bother?

@Jolakot: Sorry I should have specified, do they seem like they're probably unbuffered? (already bought some as part of another order)

@mken: The math works out at 13.8%, I'd say they're unbuffered. Each capsule works out to half a tablet of natures own, so you'll probably need to take 4x of them.
Bulk nutrients is pretty reputable so I'd be surprised if they pulled a scam like that. Just expensive for mass-market stuff.

Been taking these a few days now and it took away my leg cramps. Paid a few more cents, so this feels like a good deal, lol.
Although after reading the comments I would like to try that one when I can afford it. But for now, this will suffice.

Got this from the last deal, although after reading the comments - will try Natures Own next time

How's the quality on this? Fillers ? Mg rating?
