[SA] Otto 10000mAh 18W Power Bank $9 @ Officeworks (Trinity Gardens)

110

Cheap slow powerbank, $9 each. About 50 (back bargain bin, and half way down the main aisle).

Looks like USB-A out, USB-C in/out, I don't know anything else about this powerbank. Sorry

**Red version also available for $9, down the aisle where all the powerbanks are stored, lowest shelf. Better colour than mint green in my opinion.

    • Looks like it, but pastel green. Who cares what colourway really, slap some stickers on it if you want

      • Mint even

    • Crazy how every time the sun comes out after it rains, the sky turns woke!

        • Or maybe some products are just made to made to appeal to kids hahaha .. or anyone else that likes a bit of colour

          • @jp1011: I wasn't just referring to products

            • @DannyBoy: Sick of your dildos being in rainbow colours?

              • @Big L: Don't support them, I buy neutral colours 👍

        • So, you have evidence the colour choice was 'woke' or just suffer from 'self assumption disorder'?

You sound 'woke'! It effects both sides.

    • You get what you pay for in this case.

  • I am waiting for those Cygnett 5000mAh AFL wireless ones drop below $10.
I need something around 100g and 5000 mAh for travel purpose.

    • I don't think that's accurate, obviously. Says 0 units at Trinity Gardens, when it clearly shows > 30 in my photo. Maybe it means clearance?

      • Often clearance does not show up in searches as it may not be online. If so, they are usually marked online as clearance in the image.

        • Yellow sticker says priced to clear, so I guess you are right

  • Can someone help me understand what makes a suitable power bank for travelling w/in Aus please?

The Iniu power banks that people seem to like are 10000mAh like this one but the OP says this is a "slow" charger.

Is this one a bargain (but perhaps chunkier/not as nice a colour etc compared to the Iniu ones)?

    • This is 18W (watt) that’s why they said it’s slow, compared to the Iniu, which looks to be 45W, so will charge modern devices that support it, much faster.

      • I think suzta probably meant the Inui one posted 20 minutes before this one. That one is 15W.

Just comparing the output Wattage and charge capacities**, yes, this one would seem better.
Another potential advantage of this one is that you are buying from a reputable Australian High Street, bricks & mortar company, rather than from online from whoever it is through at Amazon's internet shop.

But Inui seems to be a well-regarded brand here on OzBargain, and the quality is probably going to be better than Officeworks budget label.
Also if Officeworks have put them on such heavily discounted clearance, I would suspect they have been sitting on a shelf for a few years, and that would make me wonder if they have degraded (ie lost capacity, reduced performance and operational life).

** capacity and output are only two factors. You should also consider the input rating (how long will it take to recharge the powerbank itself?), does it come with cables, what type connectivity does it use (USB A, USB C etc?), how heavy is it, does it have an on/off switch, does it have a battery indicator?

    • How are you travelling?

If flying your powerbank needs to be under the threshold 100wh it is, you can search for posts with that info.

Usually the lower the wh/mAh, the lighter the unit.

Do you constantly use your mobile phone or other devices and need constant charging or multiple people/devices charging at the same time? Many phone batteries 🔋 are 5000 mAh, so less than two charges on that unit before the powerbank itself needs charging.

      Wireless charging??? Etc

Cable types required, charging multiple devices at the same time? Hiking etc (get a PLB and or sat phone if you can and remote area travel).
