[Uber One] Link Accounts & Earn 1 Qantas Point Per $2 Spent on UberEATS Delivery Orders above $20 @ Qantas

590

Qantas just put out a press release today with this news.

Previously you would only earn Qantas Points via Uber with airport trips. Now you can also earn points with Uber Eats under certain conditions.

This is not going to earn you heaps of points, but if you're ordering any way you may as well collect a few extra.

How it works:

  • Link your Qantas Frequent Flyer account with Uber
  • Must be an Uber One member
  • Earn 1 Qantas Point per $2 spent on Uber Eats restaurant delivery orders over $20

Points are usually credited within 24 hours after the order is completed and fully paid, however T&Cs say allow up to 6 weeks just in case.

Nothing crazy, but a simple set and forget if you already use Uber Eats.

Eligible linked Uber one members: Linked Uber One members will earn 1 Qantas Point per $2 spent on eligible Uber Eats restaurant delivery orders in Australia over $20. All points earned and order eligibility calculated on total $ spend after applicable fees and discounts excluding tips. Eligibility will be communicated in-app and/or via email communications. Eligibility is determined at the sole discretion of Uber. Points for Uber Eats transactions will not be earned on Pick-up orders, Bring Your Own Courier (BYOC) orders, or orders from merchants in the Grocery, Alcohol or Retail categories. Uber may revoke or vary this offer at any time.

Saw these points appear in my QFF account last week and thought it was a glitch 🤣

    • Oh good to know. I was trying to find an exact start date, wasn’t sure if it was May 1 (start of the month) or May 4 (day of the announcement) but looks like it when live even earlier than that.

Placed a pickup order over $20 yesterday and didn’t get any points, so it looks like it definitely only applies to delivery orders.

My Uber delivery was 28 April and points were credited the next day.

Oh wow 0.5 pt per dollar spent, paid membership required. Truly appealing stuff.

Anything to trick the masses into believing they're getting a good deal. It's as if people forget you have to spend $20+ in the first place.

      • It’s only a bad deal if you start using Uber more just for the rewards. Personally, my household orders are usually over $20 anyway, so I view it as a little bonus on top of my Qantas credit card points I already get with my orders rather than an incentive to spend more.

  • Except for when you order a meal with $30 worth of food missing and Uber eats tells you it 'doesnt qualify for a refund'. Happened two nights ago for us. I guess we would of at least got points for the missing food. yay.

  • Uber Eats is a shit service where multiple times I have received soggy cold food. One time a I received a stapler pin in the food and CBF customer service AI told me it doesn’t qualify for a refund (and yet clawed back the full amount from the restaurant). The only way their scummy model would survive is to offer free memberships and pitiful bonuses to scam unaware people.
