    RIP your free time.

When cocaine isn't addictive enough for you.

    • Combining my playtime in Balatro, STS and STS2, I might've played these games for longer than a kid in preschool has been alive.

The equivalent of crack cocaine in reference to the above..

      • Went down a rabbit hole and ended up installing Balatro on my PSP too. Pray for me 😂

There's a sts2 version of this too. On my S26 ultra in performance mode, it's playable but some animations are a little janky.

https://steamdb.info/bundle/46486/ it was cheaper during the last winter sale.

  • I understand the appeal of Balatro but I have struggled to get into Slay the Spire. Does it eventually get its hooks into you?

    • Couldn't really get into it until STS 2 with multiplayer.

    • I'm the same - love balatro and a tons of other deck builders, but couldn't get into STS for the life of me.

    • Could be that you've already seen Slay the Spire's ideas iterated on elsewhere too many times. When it was the only one of its kind it was pretty damn addictive.

STS2 improves on the formula but I don't find it as addictive as 1 - in that I deleted both because they're a massive time suck but I haven't really felt the need to reinstall 2 whereas I uninstalled and reinstalled 1 multiple times. Might feel different when STS2 leaves early access.

STS2s recent update makes it so hard it is almost unbeatable. I have A20'd all chars of STS1 but I can't get past A9 of STS2 now.

        • +1

maybe watch some content creators (like Japanese Export), I a10'd all chars on the latest beta patch and never played sts1

    • Slay the Spire was an amazing time killer for me. It helped that I was also watching Northernlion at the time who was a pioneer to the popularity of the game, and so I was always trying out things that NL was doing.

I still haven't picked up StS2 but that's mostly because of my IRL responsibilities changing.

Take up heroin. It will eat up less of your life.

StS 1 has gone as low as $3.69 on steam, and will probably go around that low regularly with the release of StS2 and its age in general.

Balatro price is pretty good, it doesn't get huge discounts.

    • True, but I didn't want to wait haha

StS goes on sale for $9.24 every few months, but it's only been below that price once in the last 2 years.

If you're already getting Balatro, it's only an extra $6.56 to get the bundle with StS.
