should I upgrade for my galaxy watch 5 pro? cheers

I'm in the same boat as you. Watch 5 Pro still going ok but the battery is getting worse. Can't justify the cost or the size of the Ultra or Galaxy Watch 8. I like the look of the OnePlus Watch 4 but can't really find any reliable seller for it.

      • you can find lot of youtube videos on how to replace battery. i did it for mine, works good in jst under $20.

Seems like average battery time would be around 5-7 days so I think it's strongly depend on your watch's battery life at the moment
other functions would be basically similar as watch 5 pro is already decent watch to deal with.

Bloody hell.. whole thing looks like an algebra equation. 1+2R = 0

does this support nfc payments downunder?

  • +1

Absolutely love mine, it's my 3rd Android Wear watch and having the battery last 4 days just makes it so much better than the rest. Paid a lot more than this at launch.

  • I have a Galaxy Watch 4 with a shattered screen - not worth fixing. Would this OnePlus Watch be a good replacement?

    • Sure

  • My Huawei GT2 still rockin 3 weeks battery life on a charge after 3 years of use…

    • Yes me too stuck with it, it doesn't die off and for few months HR and sleep tracker weren't working due to some issue when i let it be uncharged and unused for a month.

But when i planned to buy Huawei fit its started working again.

    • My GT3 died after 2 years. Had a new unit after claiming a warranty. Now still staying strong. 3.5 years in total

    Thank you for sharing this!

I dropped my Pixel Watch 2 (2023) today, it shattered :-(

I can't decide if I'm a heavy or light user. I use it every day, but only for payments (Google Pay, NFC), notifications from my other apps, and Tesla Key Wear as a backup to my phone. That's it, I removed anything else it let me remove.

I didn't want to pay a lot for a premium watch when a three year old watch was completely fine for my needs. I had a look and for around $175 I could buy another (refurbished) Pixel 2 Watch, it was also close to that price to repair it (very quick Google).

The thing is I really never liked the look of the Google Pixel Watch, so I while was annoyed at myself for dropping it, I thought this was an opportunity to change back to a more traditional looking watch.

Your post came at the right time!! I ordered for $184.09. Thank you!

  • Amazon are generally easier to work with though for returns and warranty issues.

    • Most times for sure.

The 2R does not have Sapphire glass, it has Panda Glass
The 2 and 3 both have Sapphire glass

The 2 and 2R have WearOS4 but apparently OnePlus have apparently said they will get Wear OS6 this year (https://www.techradar.com/health-fitness/smartwatches/oneplu…)

The 3 has a slightly larger screen

    The 2 and 2R have a 500mAh battery and stated 100hr life
The 3 has a 648mAh battery and stated 120hr life
The 2 & 2R have a BES2700BP co-processor that runs the power saving RTOS, and the 3 has the slightly upgraded BES2800BP
All other specs seem the same between the 2, 2R, 3

The 4 has just been announced. Titanium case, slightly lighter than 3, but the same processor as 2, 2R, 3, and same battery size as the 3. Comes with WearOS6.

    • Will take the $184 2R over a $350+ watch.

Sure, I just thought I'd compare and put it out there so anyone can decide.

I think for me the most stark thing is that the main SOC/CPU, ram and many other things has not changed, and the battery life is not significantly different even with a bigger battery and more efficient low-power micro-processor/MCU.

I read up a little on the MCU chips (not actually much to find there) and more so on RTOS, the combo of which is why this watch has better battery life than any other WearOS SmartWatch. OnePlus state that the battery life is rated for so many hand raises per hour, so many hours of GPS etc. I think it switches off WearOS in between hand raises etc. The MCUs can do bluetooth, audio, video, and have their own dedicated RAM, interesting little beasts.

As for me, I'm going to stick to my Garmin Forerunner 255 that gets ~2 weeks battery life.

        • Great research. Yep surprised about not much change. Think it will be a good lower cost Wear OS for me.

  • Damn if only 10atm.

Anyone know of any good 10atm watches on sale?

  • $181.80 now….what a bargain! Just installing mine now.
