Just to check, you can buy these cards with a credit card, or can you only purchase them through redeeming flybuys points only?

    • Need to redeem points

To qualify for this offer, sign into your Flybuys account and redeem your existing Flybuys points for selected gift cards from The Card Network, between Tue 5 May and Mon 11 May 2026.

You can do Points Plus Pay but there's always a minimum amount that must be paid with points.

It's a complete rort using Points Plus Pay anyway because they dynamically reduce the value of each point when you use fewer of them to pay. For example, a $100 gift card costs 20,000 points ($100) but if you only have 6,000 points ($30) then you have to contribute $87.50 extra, meaning you're now paying a shocking $117.50 for the same $100 gift card.

I had a look at the good food gift card and seems to be limited restaurants only - not as universal as the restaurant one.

Please correct me if I’m wrong!

    • -1

      Yeah same. That sucks
Also sucks that they got rid of the bonus on the pub one. Was going to stock up on those.

    • +3

      Incorrect, see here https://gcdb.com.au/gc/tcn-good-food/

I have also personally bought and used this card at many places (similar to restaurant card, cannot be used in fast food places)

      • +1

Wow thanks for that. So a digital card is like a prepaid Mastercard and is able to be used at pretty much any food place or pub/bar.

        • The short answer is pretty much.

The long answer is a bit of a rabbit hole, especially when you start taking into account the inconsistent ways different payment solution providers assign MCCs to different eateries, as well as whether the eatery accepts prepaid gift cards as a payment method.

For example, when I went to a restaurant within a football club last weekend, the transaction was categorised as MCC 7997. However, I have been to different football clubs in the past where their restaurants were assigned MCC 5812 or MCC 5814.

          • @WookieMonster:

when I went to a restaurant within a football club last weekend, the transaction was categorised as MCC 7997

            How do you know that?

            • +2

@tenpercent: When I look the declined transaction on the TCN Android app for the TCN Restaurant gift card I tried to use last weekend, it displays the MCC of the transaction.

(The TCN iOS app only displays PLACEHOLDER as the MCC.)

      • Gee. Thanks for that. I didn't know this little nugget!

        • How to you spend the remaining small balances like $3, particularly that I can’t spend on soft serve at McD?

      • Agree, convert to digital though for ease of use. I found one of the restaurant one (I think restaurant choice) does allow usage at fast food, not this one.

  • Anyone tried the Good Food card on EatClub? Doesn’t seem to be adding for me :(

    • Not surprising when people keep posting about it here. This is why we can’t have nice things

      • Still showing 5812 from my shoping yesterday. Should work.

It's the way I use for clearning cards with small remanings for now. Needs a bit efford to set up the cards. Some cards might be declined (not sure why). Make sure not to add too many cards at once as it can get flagged.

        • So regular shopping on Eat club apart from restaurants still defaults to 5812 for payment?

          • @Craze: Yes. While some apps like Liven and other restaurants have changed, Eat Club is kind still on that.

            • @bcYield: Ah makes sense to some comments made to not overshare EatClub lol. I don't typically use EatClub outside of restaurants.

        • What do you mean by regular shopping? What shops are your referring to that are not restaurants?

  • Is this the best use of the flybuy point i have over 200k points

How can i maximise it value?

    • I believe you only get the extra points once. Doesn’t look like you can buy multiple cards.

      • +1

You can collect a maximum of 20,000 bonus points per account

  • Is there any giftcard that can be used to purchase grocery in coles / woolies?
look like there is not. I always use the points to reduce my grocery shop

    • +1

None from this deal, you'll need to get the Category Choice Groceries from this deal

      • thanks mate

  • I tried to activate my TCN Home gift card on my mobile but there’s no submit button. Anyone else have that issue?

    • Managed to activate 9 TCN her cards on my iphone yesterday, no issues!

      • Cheers must be an issue with it as there’s no activate/submit button now. I tried on different devices and browsers, all the same result.

      • My bad, didn’t notice the select amount option.

  • I see no this offer on my offer list.

    • +1

It is likely due to you looking in the wrong place.

If you are using the Flybuys app, go to the Redeem tab and scroll down to the Redemption section. For me, this deal is the first two offers displayed under the Redemption section.

      • I see it does show on my Redeem tab. Quickly checking the T&Cs shows slightly difference to the OP's description by not saying what selected gift cards are. However, there shows 17 gift cards on the Flybuy page including Shop and The Restaurant. I assume they may all be included.

        • +2

No, only selected gift cards are part of this deal.

When I open either of the offers from the Flybuys app, it shows 17 TCN gift cards, but only some of these gift cards have a Earn up to 2,000 points banner above the gift card image. Opening one of these gift cards (e.g. TCN Home) and scrolling to the bottom reveals the following terms and conditions:

Score up to 2,000 bonus points

To qualify for this offer, sign into your Flybuys account and redeem your existing Flybuys points for selected gift cards from The Card Network, between Tue 5 May and Mon 11 May 2026. You will be eligible for 600 bonus points when you redeem for a $30 gift card, 1,000 bonus points when you redeem for a $50 gift card and 2,000 bonus points when you redeem for a $100 gift card from The Card Network.

Her, Mum, Baby, Home, Good Food and Pamper gift cards are included. $30 gift card is only available on Her, Mum and Home gift cards. $200 gift cards excluded. Each Flybuys account can receive a maximum of 20,000 bonus points under this bonus points offer. Points will be credited to qualifying members’ accounts no later than 4 weeks after the promotion end period. This offer has been sent to you by Flybuys. Flybuys privacy policy applies. Standard Flybuys terms and conditions apply and are available at flybuys.com.au.

The fact the quoted text says Her, Mum, Baby, Home, Good Food and Pamper gift cards are included strongly implies that other TCN gift cards are excluded.

The reason the terms and conditions in the deal description looks different is due to it being sourced from the email Flybuys sent out yesterday promoting this offer. The included gift cards are mentioned in a separate section of the email.

          • +1

@WookieMonster: True. Sorry I missed out those "Earn up to 2,000 points" banner on my small screen phone. Thank you for the clarification, best as always.

  • When you say “ Collect bonus points when redeeming for selected physical and digital gift cards” does that mean when using points you use 10% less than usual?

    • +2

You will have to use the full amount of points upfront, (e.g I got a $100 Pamper Gift Card and had to use the full 20,000 points) however Flybuys will add 2,000 points back onto your account within 4 weeks.

      • Legend thanks.
