Thoughts on Samsung Frame Pro 2026 Model?

Saw that Samsung has released a new model for the Frame Pro.
Wanted to get everyone's thoughts on it.
I know the previous model is miniLED edge-lit. Not sure about the new one.
How to identify that?

Even if I were after this style of TV, I personally wouldn't buy one. Samsung act like they are still a monopoly in this market, shipping small incremental updates to an overpriced product. Both TCL and Hisense options are highly competitive with Samsung, and are significantly better value.

That said, having seen a few of these in person, I'm not fully convinced. It still looks like a TV on the wall, and I don't find the "art mode" very convincing - it doesn't look anything like real artwork and just looks like a TV playing a slideshow.

This is not to mention the other issues - TVs should be hung at eye-level whilst seated, artwork should be hung at eye-level whilst standing…etc.

    • I think the smaller size ones are better at the illusion of maybe not being a display, but run into the problem of artwork and displays needing to be at different heights. The larger ones can satisfy both artwork and display heights at the same time, but owing to their larger size, are much less convincing pretending to not be displays.

    1. Wireless Connect Box is stupid - replaces invisible thin power+signal cable with thicker, visible power cable. Why on earth would you want that in addition to the additional failure point in the wifi emitter.

    2. Still probably edge-lit for thinness.

    3. Having said all that, Frame Pro will be the only choice for Samsung going into the future, because they removed the One Connect Box from the regular Frame and put the ports back onto the TV unit itself. I am just completely bewildered at this design decision that makes the entire concept pointless. 2025 regular Frame is still available atm though.

Looks good if you got the decor to suit. Not me tho. I’m too working class for this.

  • It's not for me but it's a cool concept for others

  • One of my friends has this. The colors look off. For example, the red N logo of Netflix looks pale, somewhat pink. Aesthetically, it looks good, but the picture quality is meh.

  • Frame TV's are bad TV's. Do not buy them unless you don't plan to watch on them.

  • if you using as a picture display its okay
if you using as a tv its rubbish

  • Have the 2025 normal model (no pro)
Great for the photo frame and artwork aspect in the house but if planning on using solely are you only tv i probably wouldn't recommend it.
We have it in between the kitchen/dining 90% of the time as artwork and on the odd occasion for streaming while cooking in the kitchen.

    • Great for the photo frame and artwork aspect in the house

Do you really think it is though?

The enjoyment of having artwork on the wall comes from the fact that it is a "real" hand-crafted analogue product. One of my close friends, who is a visual artist, gifted me one of her artworks for a significant life event and it's amazing to have on the wall.

I regularly go close-up and can appreciate the finest details - the brushworks, the small imperfections, the fine colour gradients, and even if I see it every day, there's always something new for me to find when I look at it next. Whenever I have people over, they ask about it, they enjoy and appreciate it, there's a story I can tell them about the artwork and the artist who created it.

I can't imagine it's the same for the Frame TV - I have friends who own one, they know it's a TV, everyone knows it's a TV - it doesn't have the resolution or detail of real artwork, and whatever's usually shown on it looks more like generic screensavers than art. None of my friends who own this know or care about the art that's shown, and I think the novelty seems to wear off after a while.

I'm glad you're happy with yours, but if it were me, if I need a TV, I'd rather get a good one, or if I want a piece of artwork, I'd get a piece of artwork. At the price of this TV, you could get a heck of a TV, or a beautiful art piece. Probably even both.

These are bad. Please stop buying them

      These are bad.

Don't explain why, whatever you do.

  • Yeh for our purposes its great. We're not the type to walk up to the wall and stare at a painting.
It's more a convenience thing of being able to have a tv on the wall without it always looking like a tv.
Majority of the time we have it in art mode and have it on rotation. We have the 55inch was only around $1300 from memory when we got it.
Would rather hundreds pieces of art to choose from than wall past the same one every time.

Obviously it won't be everyone's cup of tea depending on what their preference is.

As solely a tv, agree I wouldn't buy it at all.
