    That's about it. I don't think it's viable anymore to get a home battery system anymore.

    I've got a 50kWh battery with a 10KW inverter for $5000….I sell 15kWH every night to Globird and quite freely use the rest for cooling, heating, cooking, hot water, gaming, lights and end up saving $600 a year from not need to buy + also getting a $650 feed in credit= ~$1,250 benefit a year. ROI will be just under 4 years. [Battery hovers between 100% down to 40% every day]

    If this battery deal is half the size and 40% more expensive, ROI will most likely be between 10-15 years (past warranty). By the time you get your money back, battery tech would be so advanced your system would be obsolete. We will probably get solid state near instant charging batteries by then.

      I am with flow power at 45 cents exports so got first $210 bill refund and leaves 50% on most days for consumption.

          42kw Fox ess with 10kw inverter and 13.3kw panels. Was with amber but was making $150 a month after selling 75% battery but now flow power is working well leaving 50% for my use.

        You must have a pretty big solar system. I initially was with AGL and their 25c/kWH FIT but very quickly found out my 5KW solar inverter (5.67KW panels) could only just keep up with my own usage let alone selling anything.

          Yes need bigger systems to support bigger battery. And it is expensive to expand it after the initial install. I upgraded from 6.6kw to 13.3 for this reason. I also have an EV so needed more juice

    I’m getting a 10 kW grid‑connected PV system from my builder, which includes a standard three‑phase 8 kW (non‑hybrid) inverter, roof‑mounted Jinko panels, and a 7 kW EV charger. Since they’re supplying a normal inverter, I’m trying to work out whether I should upgrade to a hybrid inverter now if I plan to add batteries later, or whether it’s fine to stick with the standard inverter and install a battery system with its own battery inverter down the track.

    The upgrade options they’ve offered are:
    - 3× 5 kW SolaX batteries (15 kWh) incl. hybrid inverter + enclosure - $13,280
    - 2× 5 kW SolaX batteries (10 kWh) incl. hybrid inverter + enclosure - $9,740
    - Single battery‑ready hybrid inverter + enclosure - $2,250

    Any suggestions on whether the hybrid inverter upgrade is worth doing now, or if it’s better to wait and add batteries later after possession?
