Disclosure: I’m the developer of TCheckr. I’m offering a free upgrade to Pro to get feedback from the community.

TCheckr is a gift card management app designed to help you track balances, expiry dates, and use your cards easily in-store.

What TCheckr does
  • Store all your gift cards in one place
  • Check balances (supported auto card number filling, and extraction of balance back to the app)
  • Display barcode for in-store scanning (eg. use barcode to pay with giftcards in Coles / Woolies)
  • Add card expiry reminders
  • Save card expiry to your phone calendar
  • Backup all the cards to phone local storage with a PIN protection
  • Supports popular AU gift cards (Coles, Woolies, Ultimate, Vanilla, Costco, Ikea, etc.)
What Pro unlocks
  • Unlimited gift cards (free version limited to 20 active cards)
  • Add custom / unsupported gift cards

If you already have more than 20 cards, you can still view and check them, but you won’t be able to add new ones unless you upgrade or reduce below 20.

Why I built this

I originally built this app about 2 years ago for personal use, as it was getting too hard to manage multiple gift cards. Some were purchased from supermarkets, others were digital, and keeping track of balances and expiry dates was messy. Tcheckr was started from checking balance for TCN giftcards, then slowly extended to Ultimate giftcards (Blackhawk network), Vanilla / Coles prepaid mastercard), Coles and Woolies, and lastly starts support other merchants like JB Hifi, IKEA, Chemist Warehouse etc.

Whats the differentiating features compare to other giftcards manager app

TCheckr has auto filling and balance extraction feature which accurately update the balance and card expiry of the giftcards. For me this pretty useful feature as its not easy to remember how much I have spent, and how much balance has left in each giftcard. Recording the exact remaining balance helps alot in spending the last penny using split payment instore.

    Is this app able to handle "membership" cards? like flybuys, onepass, supercheap, blablabla? trying to migrate off the previous app that got turned into klarna.

      the app is originally designed to manage giftcards
      however after you unlock "Pro"
      you can create any custom cards and add Flybuys, onepass, etc
      simply go to the "Other" tab, click on "Custom Giftcards" and you can add any type of cards (also support barcode scanning)

        Here's some selfish feedback: consider adding another "tab" (at the bottom), and/or allowing us to customize them/the existing ones. Let us select between list (current) vs grid (i.e. 2 columns) layouts, and whether there's an additional tap to show barcode or not. So klarna refugees can have membership cards jump straight to the scannable barcode.

    How do people finally use the restaurant gift card with $4.32 or some small amount left on it? Other than needing to find a cashier that splits payment and calculating the card surcharge.

    Absolutely freaking fantastic app. Been using for ages! OP you are amazing tysm!

    Not sure if you’re aware or if there’s a quick fix, but have recently found that when going to “check balance” on iOS (specifically for the Coles Group gift cards), it’s like a 50/50 chance if it actually injects the details into the balance checker the first time around? Going out of the “check balance” page and back in, always resolves the issue, but it just seems like it’s because it’s initially trying to fill out a bit too early (like before the site has always finished loading, and all the cookie banners and everything have loaded). Just a small bug, that doesn’t impact on experience much at all, otherwise app is fantastic tysm again.

      Yes I also realise the Coles GC balance checking has some race condition causing the card number filling not always works, I have now added a 2 seconds wait seems have improved a bit

        How about a loop that retries maybe every 500ms or so checking if the elements are available to be filled?

      at the moment the app only support aussie giftcards
      each and every giftcards in the app I have personally tested and make sure they work (because every giftcard has a different balance checking website)
      its a bit difficult for me to get overseas giftcards to test and develop the card filling logic
      hopefully one day when the app grows to certain scale, this can be extended globally :)

      is the code not working when you redeem within the app?
      some comments also reported that switching from Wifi to cellar network (4G/5G) resolve the redeem code issue

      sorry as I do not have a Bunnings exchange voucher, I dont have a chance to add it into the app
      but I believe if the voucher is a barcode, you can add it in the "Custom giftcards" under the Others tab
      custom giftcard will allow adding card by scanning barcode, and you can also attach a photo of the voucher (I believe its printed in the receipt?)

      I am not sure if google wallet has an export feature
      let me look into android documentations whether there's API to get giftcards out from google wallet

      at the moment, you may have to be manually entered into TCheckr

    Would it be possible to pull balance automatically of all giftcards? Or maybe pull balance of all card of a single type (e.g. Coles). For example I have multiple Coles gift card, before I go checkout, pull all balanced so I know which ones to use and the updated amount.

      That will be a great feature to add
      unfortunately at the moment I have no official relationship or agreements with any of these giftcards provider
      so it is not possible to directly call their API to get the updated balance

      Hope that one day the app is growing to certain scale where I can send official request to different merchants on auto balance update

    Ability to add custom giftcards is great - thank you. Is there a reason the Custom giftcards are in a separate section to the Other giftcards? I’d like all Other giftcards to display on one screen. Instead of having to remember Event giftcard in this section, but my Forever New/Shein/random giftcard is in the other.
    Ie UI-wise: Click Other tab > all other giftcards displayed. Click Add new card and can select specific retailer card to enter or select custom giftcard to enter.
    Hope it all goes well with launching a paid version! You’ve put a lot of work into this app and it’s the best giftcard manager app available. (Loyalty cards I used Supercards to load everything onto Apple wallet, since Klarna bought Stocard)

      I have checked Ampol giftcard doesn't have a check balance website, but it's automatically updating balance if adding to mobile wallet (apple pay / google pay)
      so probably would be better to keep it in mobile wallet

      For BP, I found a balance checking website but seems not working with the BP giftcard I purchased from Shopback sometime ago
      will see if I can get a newer giftcard and test again

    But how/where do I add IGA gift cards? (Mine seems to be provided by Metcash)
    I think Metcash deserves a place on the first tab with Multiretailers.

    Hi Bernard,

    Is there a chance you could put the history of the ‘balance’ of the card somewhere on the page of each gift card? There is already the ‘last updated time’ on the balance, but the amount entered could help incase the number was punched in wrong or just to see if you already entered in a number into the ‘spent’ function.

      thanks for the feedback, this feature is noted in the enhancement list, hopefully able to release in the next few months
      at the moment, you may use "Backup to File" which will generate a backup file, and upload to any cloud drive (eg. google drive)

      please understand that this app is just my personal side project and not aiming for profit
      so can only work during my free time :)

    This app is super useful. I really appreciate being able to check my gift card balances with just a click after I’ve added it to the app. Thank you!

    A little request:
    ShopBack has multiple gift cards that are not listed eg ShopBack Fuel that can be added under a different card name eg ShopBack Supermarket. Can you set up an option for users to help update the database without you having to buy all the gift cards to test them yourself?

    I currently use Klarna to store my Coles Gift Cards between family members. They all have the Klarna App on their mobile, and sign into a single Klarna Account where the gift cards are being stored. That way I can add / update / delete the balances of the gift cards in one place, and it will do it across all the devices. Is something like this possible with this App?

      this is already in the enhancement list (hope to complete by next month)
      but instead of create an specific account
      it will likely be integrated to user choice of cloud storage (eg. iCloud, Google drive, DropBox, Box.com etc.)

      when the 2nd user login to the same cloud storage, it can perform sync to get all the updated data
