Managed to have it price beat at Dan's to 127.95 then used the current promo GET15 to bring it further down to $108 + paid with discounted GC, making the final price $103 which I think good bargain for 18yo single malt.

The OP's price match + g/c price is very good but the amazon title price is not unheard of. Was $130~ at Dans October sale and has been similarly priced on Amazon and Coles sporadically throughout last couple of years.

Wanted to get this as a gift for dad (I don't drink) - How's this compared to JW Black Label?
It's a whole new league. Go for it.
Two completely different scotches.
JW Black is a blend and is borderline for mixing / neat / rocks. Is a little peaty and smoky.
Glenfiddich 18 is a single malt. It's a premium scotch consumed either neat or on the rocks. More rich in flavours, smoother and sweeter.
It takes some time and experience to really appreciate the flavours of GF18. If your dad likes his whisky and has tried his fair share in life, definitely go for GF18. Otherwise a Glenlivet 12 or Glenfiddich 12 would suffice. These can be had for sub $60 with alcohol deals here.
Managed to make an order on Amazon for it. Tried Price Beating it with Dan Murphys but they told me they wouldn't do it as its going in and out of stock.

If someone is still stuck on this - I was able to get Dan to Price match liquorland where this is on sale for $144.50. Add the 15% off, another 5% off gift cards, total cost = $116.68 Not as cheap as what many have paid - but not too bad for an 18 year old.
Ended up getting Lagavulin 16 for $126.65 from Dan's! Which I believe is a fantastic price.
$103 is a good price!
