Play as a lonely Lunar Rover whose job is to prepare the moon for habitation. There has been a recent crash of a space shuttle and with man's arrival on the horizon it's time to explore and use the available resources to ensure their safe arrival.

Roving Rovers started as a replica of the internationally recognised Australian Rover Challenge, enabling players to understand the complexities of the lunar and otherworldly rover missions. Developed with the support of The Andy Thomas Centre for Space Resources, University of Adelaide and Flinders university, it is based in the realities of the space industry.

Updates to game and pricing structure

As part of this update, we are also moving Roving Rovers from a free product to a paid product with a small (~$5) price tag attatched.

Anyone who has already claimed the game before this change will still keep a copy of the updated version, and anyone who adds it to their account in the next week will also receive further updates for free.

    It's just free to play, can't add to library for all eternity

      You can add free to play games to your library by pressing Play Game then cancel when asked to install. Will now be in your Steam library "New To Library" when you check.

      Use the Steam App on your phone - it only gives the option to add to library.

      As we've kept working on Roving Rovers since the initial release in 2023 we're ready for a major update and release.

      Coming next week on the 13th of May you can expect a massive update including:

      Reworking the entire campaign for ease of playability

      Updated narrative and voice over for the entire campaign

      Added local co-op for up to 4 player

      Fixed a multitude of bugs and issues

      Many QoL changes

    At first I thought, and hoped, this was a reboot of this classic Aussie gem
